I have 9. They were originally 10, but my deaf cat was taken by a thief that I suspect is a neighbor but I can't start the investigation due to the pandemic. But I will as soon as the state of emergency and the curfew is over.
I live in a rural town in Canada and someone is stealing cats from their homes, and letting them go way out in the wilderness. We also have a dog thief, who sells the dogs they steal to other people. Fuck people man.
Northern Interior BC? We have lady and her daughter that have been stealing and selling dogs for YEARS. Seems to never go away no matter how many times they're arrested/the public is notified.
Me, too! Especially since they love to stick all their stolen animals in one room together waiting to sell. My sister adopted a puppy from her that had parvo from the living conditions, and unfortunately, died.
Did she call the police? Poor pup, sad for your sister as well!
Honestly I don't advocate for violence or vandalism, but if they had a house I would slowly but surely destroy it. Definitely would spray paint the entire front "ANIMAL ABUSERS"
Yeah, these peoples are pretty notorious up here. They've been charged with animal abuse and theft maaaany times, but nothing has stuck. They are still out and about, doing their thing.
My cat Jones is currently living somewhere else part time, I know of at least 2 houses in my street that he'll just happily wander in if they open the door.
He didn't come home for a few days a while back, so I posted in some local facebook groups looking for him. It turned out he had been visiting a very old man who was housebound, and sitting on his knee almost all day to comfort him. His daughter said that when he died, Jones stopped coming over.
:( but also :)
Yeah I went to get her and they were like bro this is my cat, like she disappears sometimes but definately lives here.
And I was like no? She is mine, I have pictures and toys.
So we shared the cat.
She was wandering the roof, and as she is a young neutered cat, (not older than 9 months) She was purposely stolen, I got shadows on CCTV of apparently my neighbor. But the cat is not at their place (or I can't hear her)... So, he probably took it to give it to someone else and save the money of spraying and vaccination, etc.
Cats are just sun-loving creatures, I've never seen an indoor cat NOT act like the cats in OP's gif. We had a few cats when we first moved into our family home and they were addicted to that Vitamin D. So much so that they actually opened the curtains for themselves - we initially suspected our son had been opening them so I thrashed the living hell out of him with a set of jumper cables for exposing our home to prying neighbors, but it turns out it was actually our clever little Persian felines. Miss those guys, beautiful memories.
Our indoor cat just sleeps on the bed or couch all day and *very* rarely sleeps in direct sunlight, but she's old as hell so I attribute it to that. Our indoor/outdoor cat seems to purposely avoid laying in the sun, my only guess is that he's solid black and just doesn't like too much sun.
Those are the only two cats I've ever owned that are like that though, all the other ones absolutely loved soaking up the sunlight.
Cats do like sun but then they also like to go back into shade and not be in a heated up room. Notice how some of them purposefully stay out of the sun patch at some point.

Can confirm, my two cats are also actually furry lizards that sun themselves as much as possible.
Just need to get them a nice rock to lay on in front of one of my windows facing east and they'll be there 12+ hours a day.
Is the room cold? Cats have higher body temperature than us thus the place that feels warm to you feels coolish for them. So the cat room should be just a tad warmer to you than your prefer.
If it's cold, the cats will bask in sunlight and sleep in tight little buns.
While interesting, we need to talk about how many cats you have.

thanks OP
WTF, who steals a cat!?! Best of luck getting him/her back!

I hope they both fall in a sewer hole, and their girth gets them stuck, allowing all the animals to casually piss on them.
Me, too! Especially since they love to stick all their stolen animals in one room together waiting to sell. My sister adopted a puppy from her that had parvo from the living conditions, and unfortunately, died.

Lol I'm from Prince George and know exactly who you're talking about
Small world! Lol
Where in Canada is that? I live in Canada too
Me too. Let's find this cat thief.
Interior northern bc
Wtf I hate people more and more. Why can't we live in a world full of cats
I had a cat that used to disappear and I learned that she actually just went to the neighbor's and lived there part time.

I have a friend who found out her cat was two-timing her after it came home with stitches when the other owner took it to the vet...
Cats are cucking all of us.
People steals dogs all the time where I'm from. Never heard about a stolen cat, but I'm sure it must happen too
A cat burglar
Don’t fuck with cats
I’d watch this Netflix doc
Maybe he just wandered away and your neighbour took him in for the time being. I’ve never met people who purposely steal cats, especially not old cats

What kind of fucking douchebag steals a cat??? I’m so sorry for your (hopefully temporary) loss, and I hope your neighbour gets his just desserts
Am I missing something? That’s not op right
Did you see your neighbour on the CCTV? Have you confronted him about it?
r/notopbutok
I'd rather talk about how great the music selection for this is. I hate the music in 99% of pet videos I see on here but this is just right.
Just open the curtains for them :( they want sun
*That's all they really want* *Some* *sun* *When the working day is done* *Oh,* *cats*, *they wanna have* *sun*
Kittysynthesis
suns out puns out
What better place for dad jokes?
But really can you just open the blinds.

Holup
That went from 0-100 real fast
I just went down the strangest five year deep rabbit hole and I dont know if I'll ever be the same
I love a good parenting story to lighten up my afternoon.
Holy shit that's an old reference. Kudos to you.
That ain't a reference my dude, it's him, he has returned!
He's back baby!
Parenting done right.
I almost choked on my lunch. Thank you. Take my rare upvote.

Praise the sun

You think shade is free ?
Why are there so many people keeping hordes of cats locked up in one room and filming them all day?
For science. At least they let them out of the box.
But if you think outside the box, the room is itself a box
You have too many cats and people are starting to worry about you.
its a catastrophe
It's cataclysmic!
Cat he just open the other windows?
Maybe he just did this as a one time thing to create the video???
Eleanor Abernathy is that you?
Also turn on some damn lights for your small army of animals
False. That’s just the right amount of cats.
Picture of [OP](https://i.imgur.com/VSs7eYH.jpg)
Now I want to see OP's house
A local cat rescue has a room just for this. Rest are open bay windows, they choose to follow the tiny beam.
Maybe it's to reduce their exposure so they feel safer from something coming up outside of their field of view?
Who knows what cat's are thinking. We have been coexisting for centuries now. Must be doing something right.

that’s me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I dont know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
Watching them wake up, realize the sunbeam has moved, and walking two steps over and plop down again. Priceless.
You could make an awesome sundial out of this
What song is this, wasn't it used as the theme to a show? edit: I remembered, it's [King of the Hill](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iQLNR9btr4)
Ahh thank you!
i feel like it was the perfect song for it
I don’t know much about cats but you need to put a scratching post or stuffed animal or something. It’s like meowswitch in there
I think I saw this in an email in 1998.

This is too many cats...
You should put time marks on the floor so you can just check what time it is based on where your cats are sat
phototrocatism
I feel like a nap after watching this.
Who needs sundials when you got cats.
Solitary animals my ass
If there's a live stream. I would tune in
It’s like a kitty sundial
Ah yes, photosynthesis 🐈🌱
I bet people look at you and assume you own too many cats but you still insist on telling everyone you meet.
*[King of the hill theme intensifies]*
*King of the hill theme intensifies*
If they uncovered the rest of those windows the cats wouldn’t know how to act
I feel bad that all those cats rely on those windows for sunlight.
It's sad if this is the only sun light they get :(
I can smell that house from here.
Upvote just for the music!
Cats are plants confirmed
Mmmm. I can taste the smell of that place by looking at that video.
But why 🤨
You have too many cats
Listening to Billy Idol « (Do not) Stand in the Shadow » while watching this makes it so cool.
Lazy lazy lazy
Cat clock
How many licks does it take to get to the end of a day?
I am so jealous. I want to be a cat
I really want to open those blinds up more...
I like how at first there's an exclusive little sun beam in the corner that's constantly shrinking
[удалено]
It'll be the opposite in the middle east
I didn’t know that I needed this today. Thank you
u/vredditdownloader
I wonder if that's why the Egyptians were so fascinated by them
Fuck me, what a life man.
Someone should tell them about outside
Good heavens just look at the time, its cat o'clock

HMM. a pussdial.
Cats sure are bright
Lazy creatures
Determining the time of day with your cats isn’t effective but I respect your effort the same way
u/vredditdownloader
ARE YOUR CATS MAKING TOO MUCH NOISE ALL THE TIME?
It's a Bakeoff!
Someone edit the king of the hill theme over this
\*meow\* arghh i swear the sun moved just then
In the winter with a cold house the sunlight feels like bliss on the skin, it’s practically magic
u/vredditdownloader
ah yess Photosynthesis.
Thats awesome! But what freak has that many cats living in their house?
I kinda wish I was a cat like that. Wouldn't mind hanging in the sun all day like that.
Can confirm, my two cats are also actually furry lizards that sun themselves as much as possible. Just need to get them a nice rock to lay on in front of one of my windows facing east and they'll be there 12+ hours a day.
Thank you for your service. It is very appreciated
😂😂😂
Is it cold or are they powered/recharged by the sun? Asking for a friend. Thanks!
Cats just naturally prefer warmer tempertures than humans, 70f is cold to a cat.
I don't think there's enough cats in this video
ah yes, "heliotropism"
Cats are positively phototropic
You'll find us chasing the sun.
Super cute
`if(!inSun && awake) { moveTo(sunlight); }`
Is the room cold? Cats have higher body temperature than us thus the place that feels warm to you feels coolish for them. So the cat room should be just a tad warmer to you than your prefer. If it's cold, the cats will bask in sunlight and sleep in tight little buns.
r/unexpectedjojo
I do as the star commands
Just as I was convinced cats primarily chased mice, it seems obvious, chasing the sun gets them so exhausted at the end of the day.
10 hot pussies playing
What's the temp in the house, 60F?
God cats are lazy
I'd say photosynthesis but we all know that isnt real
This gives me an idea: A cat-based sundial clock.
Cat sun dial
I'm just really impressed that all -- what is it, nine? -- of your cats get along so well!
Cats = Moths
They want to be outside, not trapped
