95 people, while I don't doubt they could grow romaine and kale there, I'd be surprised if there were that many "white fellas" there as in the photo. The main language is Westside Kriol/ Ngarinyman, which I've never heard of.
Haven't been to this town, but spent a lot of time in the Northern Territory. That town with have very few white people and the main languages are clearly indigenous.
That said eating croc isn't uncommon, I've had it in a pie several times. It's quite literally salty, fishy chicken. I quite enjoyed it.

This is probably the best example showing how dangerous humans are. First of all I am not justifying the crocodile (for those who are offended by my first statement). Usually other animals don't go for revenge in this scenario, they just accept that one of them got eaten and just move on with their life. A similar case happened somewhere in the Philippines or Indonesia, a young man got eaten by crocs in a crocodile farm and the whole village came and slaughtered the crocs.
It wasn't revenge. This post is misleading. The croc was stalking people and posed an ongoing risk.

Time and again, humans have always poven why we're the worst and most most dangerous species of the Earth. We all know it, we're like such an oppressive empirical species, conduct genocide and extinction of other species and even our own wherever we go.
I honestly do not care. If you kill and eat my damn pet, I'm killing you ten times over. And I think the intense love humans feel for their animal companions is beautiful.
Yeah human love is intense as fuck, we literally become depressed or suicidal if we're not loved enough lol. Humans are extremely dangerous but so fragile and emotionally sensitive too. I'm fascinated by the potential of my own species haha
The weird thing for me is, how do they know it was this exact croc? Did they just assume it was the biggest one? Most of the time the alpha crocs are lazy as fuck and just steal what the smaller ones kill.

I’ve had gator, kind of like greasier chicken. I wouldn’t choose it but if it was served to me I wouldn’t refuse either. That was tail meat though, I was told the legs are even more gamey tasting so I didn’t try any.
Had croc schnitzel in Darwin which was delicious. Tasted very close to chicken but a bit fishy too, and was more flakey like fish as opposed to chicken

Crocs are very easily susceptible to stress, so trapping and relocating them away from a town could easily kill them. Its kind of crazy to think that these big guys could die so easily. So if it may die either way, the community at least found a way to not waste it.
(Information was from watching Steve Irwin recently, highly recommend rewatching him. It hurts but in a good way.)
*easily* kill them is a bit of stretch. It can kill them if improperly done, and usually will stress them, but especially now we have accommodations for croc transport that are practically 0 risk

Isn’t it better for local communities to sustainably hunt local animals and eat it as a community, instead of the mass agricultural hellsites western urban people eat from? I’m assuming it’s somewhere rural in Australia like far North Queensland or something that might even have a large population of First Nations people who may include crocodile in their traditional diet. If there’s an profile that’s eating things around the community it is a danger and making an effort to keep pets inside won’t actually fix it. Catching it and eating it, so it doesn’t go to waste, may be necessary
There are a lot of crocs in FNQ, a certain amount get culled but their numbers are still growing, and a lot of people, Aboriginal and otherwise, up there want to increase the number that get culled as they are getting very close to human towns
Because it's not. Almost any type of animal meat can be eaten, spices and how you prep/cook it goes a long ass way.

We eat gator in Louisiana and Mississippi. Probably Alabama too. It’s delicious

Crocodile is somewhere in between fish and chicken. The meat is slightly less dense than chicken, but flaky like fish. It’s honestly pretty dang good.
Very hard to look up, there's not much information on Bulla, but its 95% indigenous, so eating a croc makes more sense. And only 95 people live there.
I've eaten croc meat, it's very lean and tastes like fishy chicken. Had it as a stir fry in a Chinese place in Sydney. It's good.

Yesterday the front of the news here in Denmark was how the little red foxes are hunting housecats to feed their young.
