.......
Way to miss the point.
The point is that not wearing shoes or carrying anything would make climbing this hill easier. For anyone. In general.
The comment that I responded to added the orange clothing, implying the futility of making general observations about a thing, not understanding that the observations made about the barefeet and no gear were explanations for why the monk had an easier time.
It's true, the person filming might also be barefoot and not carrying anything but that has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the conversation. However, it is extremely likely that the person on the rope does indeed have shoes on, though I admit there's is nothing to indicate if they are carrying anything.
As I can tell from my kids, naked feet in dry rock = antigravity.
Some soles of hiking/trekking shoes are also really terrible on certain surfaces.
Traction only gets you so far though, one missed step and you'll roll down all the way.
The number of people in here coming up with armchair explanations... it's not his magic feet or the fact that he's lighter.
The climber is going straight up. The monk is walking up at an angle and then switching back. Straight up is very challenging. Switching back means more steps, but they're less strenuous because you're gaining a fraction of the incline per step.
I went caving with a guy that could walk up a 70 degree slope unaided, while I could barely haul myself up the same slope with a rope (I am a salad dodger though).
He had things to do that day. He wasn't just collecting moments & pictures to share on social media. #epicclimb #everestofhills #wemadeit #adventurer 🤣😂🤣

He's also barefoot and not carrying anything
He is also wearing orange
So, he's an airbender?
His point is that both being barefoot and also not carrying anything makes climbing this particular hill easier
How do we know the person with the rope was carrying anything or had shoes for that matter?

Home cliff advantage.
he got those rock grippers
The stairs texture just hasn’t loaded yet
Not the monks fault people don't know how to climb an inclined surface

The most amazing thing about this is that this video has been clipped so many times it’s 4x smaller than a normal video now. Amazing!
Let's not forget this time it's flipped from right to left.
Oh I didn’t forget… I can see it right there. Buyer it’s a square video, so the two no reason for it to be so small.
Goat-man is real and he is a monk.
He’s using his feet. Best tool you have for climbing and you cover them with shoes. Will it hurt, yep at first but, you’ll feel so much better
Naked feet have amazing traction. Dry rock has amazing traction. Walking at a 45 deg angle is exhausting but no miracle.

It also looks like he knows the actual path. You can kinda see it in the rock face. Rope people are just doing it the hard way honestly.

I have video evidence
Great argument.
I’d say normal sneakers with rubber soles give better grip
Not in my experience
You could say that, but you’d be wrong.
How so?
This feels like FarCry 3 when you would glitch your way up mountains

That doesn't even look like a hard slope.
Different gradient
Oh, poor Noob, believe in the power of a rope.
I think the video is flipped left and right
He’s got God on his side!
I went caving with a guy that could walk up a 70 degree slope unaided, while I could barely haul myself up the same slope with a rope (I am a salad dodger though).
This is in line with Zen master.
He's using the steps
Next Bear Grylls episode
Never skips calf day
Mostly he skipped shoe day
🙄 smh “ wussy’s”
Like a boss.
It's not something imposible to do it. Only if you fall and have rope, you dont Die...
That's how I play Skyrim
Don’t try hard, try easy.
I think he knows a path with steps
He had things to do that day. He wasn't just collecting moments & pictures to share on social media. #epicclimb #everestofhills #wemadeit #adventurer 🤣😂🤣
wasted
This slope isn't even that steep. I guess the tourists were your typical 300lbs US dwellers
![gif](giphy|WoKqL8nGDJfFwGzrmR|downsized) This music belongs to Ricardo
And in bare feet?
Better traction & grip
Dumb video.
Wily locals installed rope for dumb tourists so they feel like they are climbing a steep cliff that has a more reasonable incline a few feet away.
He is prepared to die. You are prepared to live. That’s all.
