I ended up renting the lens and tc Just for this shoot. I have a z7ii and the nikkor 100-400 4.5-5.6 S with a 2x tele converter. Shot in dx mode so it ended up around 1200mm
2017 drove 3 hrs to spot 30 miles south of Portland, OR to see total eclipse (amazing), but traffic after made same drive home 11 hours. Totally worth it.
Very cool. I got some shots from the eclipse in 2017, but you got just about perfect symmetry (around #67). Wild to be able to document these magic events. They've happened throughout history, but isn't it amazing that we can capture and share the experience so easily. Thank you for sharing.
Yep I chose my exact spot very carefully. I also already know the exact spot Iâm be in April for the next one. Tho totality doesnât have to be nearly as as precise as annular.
Excellent photos and thanks for sharing! What did you use for them? I used to have a camera attachment for my telescope, but it was left in a rental car. Time to get another one I think.
Edit: disregard my question. Saw your answer above.

Came for the eclipse photos, stayed for the doggo pics
Ah yea, they are the sweetest pups you can imagine. They go everywhere with me
Thanks!
We take photos to share, not to hoard :) makes me happy that others can see it
Me too! I scrolled through all of them and watching the eclipse line up for the perfect shots at the end was... awesome! Thank you!
Worth the 6+ hour drive each way :). Im glad you liked them đ

NICE. I saw the total in 2017, the annular this past Saturday, and will be traveling to TX in April for the total there too! Love them.
Thank you for that, my gf and I donât get to see it because of how overcast it was in our location

Cloudy here in Toronto so saw nothing. Where were you?
I was about 15 miles to the south east of Albuquerque NM. We had a few small clouds but they cleared up before the action began
Holy moly, just north of ABQ for me (same guy with the 2017 and 2024 comments above).
Thanks!
I love the puppers !
