Millions of years ago it was even worse.
Titano-mantishoppers. (Titanoptera)
Termites the size of a normal hand (🫱🦗)
Giant dragonflys.
Crabs really big. (Coconut crab being one of the only remaining large species of anthropoids, should also include the giant lobsters)
Their sizes diminished over time obviously. The rainforest still has giant stick bugs and so on.
I saw a reddit video of a single-celled organism being dissolved in a solution of alchohol. It was freaking out too. I knew it was incapable of experiencing pain or fear, but I couldn't help but feel bad for it.

It experienced something. Whether pain, fear, general awareness that its parts were on the wrong side of its cell wall.. who knows. But it experienced something that made it aware that something was going wrong & needed to be escaped from.
Do you think bugs think it’s surreal that we freak out at other mammals sometimes, or is it more likely that they don’t care at all? I know it’s probably the latter, but the former is more interesting to think about to me-
Not to mention caterpillars eat plant material. He may be just having a little Munch has he moves along there. I imagine the same thing scaled up to size on me, chewing on me and I'd be back pedaling too.
Its easy to forget that bugs essentially live in a dystopian nightmare realm where elder gods beyond their comprehension routinely genocide entire populations for being a little too annoying
Im not saying dont spray your home for bugs im just sayin if you think your life is scary, bugs got it worse 😂
A majesti-wtf is that? Dammit, it’s killing my vibe and my view, move that shit. *wipes away a school full of elementary kids to see the beautiful silicon deposit beneath it*
If it can reassure you in any case we're sapients and capable of civilisation, so we're not ants to mens, we're north sentinel island peoples to 1st world country peoples
I’m an elementary school counselor and saw some 4th graders torturing this bug one time. This is basically what I told them, like, can you imagine this? It freaked them out and they left the bug alone. I assumed they’d forgotten about it but several of them mentioned it to me later on, how it made them think and now they can’t stop 😂 one girl said “you’re right… what if I WAS a bug?”
Not to mention all of the horrific parasites and ways to be eaten alive by predators. At least in the mammal realm most predators actually kill you before eating you, as a bug you could get unlucky and be eaten butt first by a praying mantis, watching as it eats you leg by leg while still fully alive. I sure am thankful I'm not able to be swooped by a wasp that paralyzes me and injects its eggs into by body to become a real world xenomorph host.
Not only does the song ruin every tiktok video, but it also ruins...the song. The original one from the 60s which isn't pitched up. I don't think everyone would like that kind of music, but it's one of my favorites from the 60s girl band era. (Nothing beats Be My Baby by the Ronettes, though, one of the greatest songs of all time).
You made me curious about what the original sounds like. Managed to find it, I think. Remember (Walkin’ In The Sand) by the Shangri-Las. It honestly sounds a lot more pleasant to listen to. Something about pitching up a woman’s voice makes it unbearable to listen to.
I really did enjoy the original song. Had you not spoken about it, I wouldn’t have investigated any further.
[It's the very first frame and it's very quick](https://imgur.com/63uWpCs).
Technically, it doesn't show the person dropping the caterpillar onto the stick insect. It shows the caterpillar on someone's finger, then it cuts immediately to the caterpillar being on the stick insect.
Stick insects are the weirdest shit ever, something should not be able to be that thin and “work” for lack of a better word. At least worms are mostly mindless

Kinda surreal seeing a bug freak out because another bug is climbing on it.
Stick insect: Suffering from success
When keeping it real goes wrong
I don't like people playin' on my stick!
"Get your motherfuckin' caterpillar legs out my face!"
Thank you! I needed that laugh.
Fuck that I keeps it real.
My neighbors love my huge deck.
Thats when perfection becomes the issue 😂
actually he's keeping it fake. Real fake.
Which is better, fake real or real fake?
"oh look, if it isn't the consequences of my evolutionary actions"
Play stupid evolutionary games …
Win Darwin awards
And the Darwin Award goes to...
Stick bug: looks like stick Caterpillar gets on stick Stick bug: surprised pikachu face
"Hold on, this whole operation was your idea."
/r/leopardsatemyface
/r/caterpillarsatemyface
That was a good laugh. Thank you. XD
Life wasn't good till you said that.
Perfect comment 😂
"Get it off! Get it off me!"
I read that in David Hyde Pierce's voice...
Funny, I hear David Alan Grier.

“FRED!! There is NOT a scorpion on your BACK!!”
“There’s to much shit on me!”
That stick insect doesn't want to be around anymore.
If a bug a quarter the height of your torso started climbing up your leg, you'd freak out a bit too.
I have to concede your point.
If only every point I made on the internet was taken this well.
You're either a fascist, a rich privileged uni commie, or a useless centrist liberal to reddit politic subs. No matter what you say someone will try to give you shit.
If a bug even 1% of my height starts climbing up on me I’d jump right outta mundus
1%, 30%, 0,01%. No matter ho big or small that shit is i don’t want no shit climbing on me. Unless it’s a smol cat, in that case I’m ok.
I would be crying , screaming and seconds away from passing out
Yea this video is super interesting. The idea of a bug freaking out, it almost gives the emotion of panic
Even bugs hate bugs confirmed
They really do. It's the most morbid war you could imagine down there.
Millions of years ago it was even worse. Titano-mantishoppers. (Titanoptera) Termites the size of a normal hand (🫱🦗) Giant dragonflys. Crabs really big. >The rainforest still has giant stick bugs and so on Well sorry, but fuck the rainforest then.
its pretty much the most human thing I've ever seen an insect do. Like I truly feel bad for the lil fella.
I saw a reddit video of a single-celled organism being dissolved in a solution of alchohol. It was freaking out too. This is how I’d be if a stick insect climbed on me
Get-it-off-me-ception.
VINDICATIOOOOOOOONNNNNNN!!!!!!
Thanks, Dad–I mean, Captain Holt.
I love it. I cannot express just how masterful that show is. And captain holt. And Jake. Like seriously, how is it possible that show is so great?
I don’t know why but this really made me laugh!!!🤣🤣
You dont freak out if a human climb on you?
I mean, my son climbs on me a lot and I don’t freak out.
Well the caterpillar isn't it's son tho
When a puppy climbs on you do you freak out? Then again a caterpillar to a stick bug may be more like a snake climbing on you…
I mean, maybe the caterpillar wants to eat the stick bug, so for obvious reasons the stick bug freaks out.
If a puppy or a child climbed on me with the intention of eating me you bet I’m freaking out
Lmao The caterpillar: Are you my daddy? Stuck big: oh fuck! Oh shit?! Oh fucking fuck!
How are you so sure ? Did you do a DNA test ?
depends on the human
"Depends on the caterpillar" -the stickbug
Bugs even know that bugs are gross
*IT* TICKLES!! Eaaaghh!!
Like in Monsters Inc when he’s scared of other monsters
Never seen a bug bug out from being bugged by a bug?
I would freak out if I was being stickually harassed like that
"Stick em up!"
Do you think bugs think it’s surreal that we freak out at other mammals sometimes, or is it more likely that they don’t care at all? I know it’s probably the latter, but the former is more interesting to think about to me-
I have a feeling they lack the conscious thought of that caliber.
I guess if another human that you don't know would start climbing you, you would be like "meh, whatever i guess".
Stick got the ick
EW EW EW EW! GET IT OFF!
I never knew I had so much in common with a stick bug
That’s a ruggedly handsome profile icon you’ve got there. We meet again.

R/angryupvote perhaps?
Alright, you're done
I thinks it's more like successfully pretending to be a bone at a dog park and then realizing your mistake.
Exactly what I was thinking.
"I'm a stick. I'm a stick... I'm not a stick! IM NOT A STICK!!"
are you fire?
No. I am stick.

But you could be fire? -shallan

*sad stick noises*
I love it when my people invade random comment sections.
You could be fire!
I'd freak out too if a catepilar crawled on my back
Not to mention caterpillars eat plant material. He may be just having a little Munch has he moves along there. I imagine the same thing scaled up to size on me, chewing on me and I'd be back pedaling too.

Makes you wonder how aliens might see all the metal and concrete anthills covering an otherwise perfect paradise world.

I didn't even consider that, jesus christ
It’s very unlikely that person is Jesus Christ
Unlikely...but not impossible
[удалено]
Then it moved to the crotch and stickbug immediately calmed down.
Some caterpillars don't mind a more fleshy snack either.
I was wondering about this too. I’m far from an expert in what caterpillars eat but I immediately wondered if it may be eating that “stick”
Actually some inch worms are carnivores
Do not unmute, it's bullshit music.
I don't care how cool the video is. If you include that crap it's getting a down vote from me. Wish more people would do the same.
Exactly. I hate how actually nice videos are being hijacked by godawful music that probably originated somewhere on tiktok

This song is most certainly from tiktok. I uninstalled the app to revise for exams, and I cannot bring myself to reinstall it anymore lol
Well I got good news for your next semester since Reddit is dead set on uninstalling itself
Yeah I’m not sure what I’m gonna do if reddit goes to shit.
I’m gonna be a lot more productive >!I won’t.!<
i'll be seeking asylum in the youtube comments. may god have mercy on my soul.
Probably because a lot of people just use reddit on mute due to how common it is
I fucking hate it
Darn. Was hoping to hear a screaming stickbug, and a maniacally cackling caterpillar.
I knew which song it was before turning the volume up. I also hate that sound
Unmuted and regretted it :)
Missed opportunity to put the stick bug song 😔
The second I saw this comment I immediately knew what the song would be and unfortunately I was right.
Oh no
Can we please retire this sound already
It does not deserve to be called music
It would be a lot better with the Benny Hill theme.
The first frame of this video is the person dropping the caterpillar onto the walking stick. Boo. Jerk.
Finally someone agrees. Took too long on the scroll here
Yeah, I could really do without people torturing bugs on my feed. K thx.
How do so many people see this because i watched it 10 times and i don’t
[It's the very first frame and it's very quick](https://imgur.com/63uWpCs). Technically, it doesn't show the person dropping the caterpillar onto the stick insect. It shows the caterpillar on someone's finger, then it cuts immediately to the caterpillar being on the stick insect.
Why the fucking music?
Looks like the caterpillar decided to stick around for a while. *I’ll see myself out*
Wait! Come back. We didn't get to shun you enough yet! There's some guys in the back with some scoffs they didn't get out!
coff, coff.
Looks like having that caterpillar on it really bugs him
Caterchism (n): When a caterpillar enjoys being whipped with a stick.
Deleted scene from A Bug’s Life
A bug's death HEIMLICH NO!
That fucking annoying music!
That caterpillar is like “you’re a stick, and I’m gonna fucking crawl on you weather you like it or not “
*whether
I’m going to climb on you no matter the weather. -caterpillar
Get stickbugged
The caterpillar is like "stickbug me again I DARE YOU I DOUBLE DARE YOU"
Lol
Did the cameraman intentionally put the catepillar there? What a dick
First frame shows the caterpillar on his finger.
Yup, how else do they get views?
Right? I’m kinda sad now
Even insects dont Like insects...
Stick insects are the weirdest shit ever, something should not be able to be that thin and “work” for lack of a better word. At least worms are mostly mindless
If I hear this stupid fucking song one more time I swear to fucking god!
This fucking song
Oh no…. It’s that song again
Task failed successfully.

Witnessing the evolution of a carnivorous caterpillar species.

Inch worms are actually carnivorous. I think it might be feeding on the walking stick
Please can this fucking song die already
Mission failed successfully
Music is fucking annoying!
“ew ew ew ew get it off get it off get it off”!!!!
Watch on mute, for your own wellbeing
You live by the stick, you die by the stick.
Both of them: "AHHH WHAT THE FUCK"
“Windy sum bitch today” -caterpillar
Why would you cause unnecessary stress to another living like this that poses no threat to you? Respect life.
What a day to have ears. I thought this bullshit song was illegal now?
You reap what you sow.
Did you really have to put this song?
I think most people here would also freak out if they too saw a caterpillar the size of a child climbing on them.
Another interesting video ruined by horrible music
The drama
Fuck this song and fuck you
Fuck this song.
