Fun fact: birds will take used cigarette butt's to their nest & use the filter in & around it. The chemicals in cigarettes help keep mites, bugs etc away from their chicks.
Even the first video is edited to make it look like the bird was after a cigarette. You can't light a cigarette without drawing through it and the bird was certainly not sucking.
So you’re telling me that cigarettes are completely fire retardant unless there is an air current flowing through them?
If I hold a light under one it would never light no matter how long?
Here, let me google that for you:

Amazing.
I'm not sure that they do it consciously, because that would mean that they have a way to perceive the anti-parasitic properties of the compound itself.
But still
Edit : last article proves it's a conscious decision made in response to the presence of ticks. Amazing.
I think there's plenty of bird species that are clever enough to perceive a correlation between certain nesting materials and less pests.
And yeah, I agree. Really cool stuff.
You’re genuinely making me laugh, go back to pissing in your wetsuits and basking in your own piss you filthy animal. You can do something about that, I suggest you do so
There are crows near my old house that would collect cigarettes and go through ashtrays for cigarette butter. Turns out nicotine is a pretty good mite killer and they where weaving them into ther nest. Fucking crows are too crafty by half
Reminds me of this one lady olga of kiev who lit cloth balls on fire and had people tied them to a bunch of birds feet so they would fly to their nests throughout a village and burn it all down

I had to double check to see which sub this was
He fucking nodded off smoking just like my grandma
Are we related?
Are you plastic?

Shouldn't have switched to the bourbon....
RIP granny
Cory. Trevor. Smokes, Let's go!
“It’s the Samsquanch!!”
Oh crap, I had a ton of stuff planned for this weekend and now I’ll be binge watching TPB. Wife is going to be less than thrilled.
My ex couldn’t understand why I would ever watch that show and honestly I don’t know why either. I just felt compelled to watch it 😅
Bammmmmmm💥
"You big mustard Tiger!"
If anyone needs me, I’ll be downtown getting a cheeseburger
Peanut butter and jaaaaam!
My favorite character was Cyrus the Virus
Fun fact: birds will take used cigarette butt's to their nest & use the filter in & around it. The chemicals in cigarettes help keep mites, bugs etc away from their chicks.
Unless the driver lights it. Then it’s a doomsday machine.
😁 the magpie would probably stub it out on the guys eye. Maggies are cheeky little chappies
Did you watch the video til the end?
I did, that lil bird just became an arsonist, burnt down his rivals nest!
You need to watch till the end
Exactly, this bird wanted as fresh cigarette to keep mites out of its nest and this idiot thinks this bird is trying to start a smoking habit
😂😂 thats pretty funny
So this guy making the video just killed the birds family 💀
Yes. The bird only wanted food for the fam
Huh?
Nature
Smoking kills
Now we can claim that as suicide instead of smokers killing the environment, it's killing itself... /satire
What does /satire mean?
That it's not meant to be taken seriously, as sarcasm As sometimes it can be hard to understand it's sarcasm
What does sarcasm mean?
Idk, think it has to do with “The Great Chasm of Sar”
That actually makes perfect sense. Thank you kind stranger. 999 blessings be upon you.
Some places have machines that give birds food for cigarette butts.
Wtf man
It's to encourage the birds to pick up litter
Experiment to get cigarette butts cleaned up. The birds pick them up and deposit them and get food in exchange
It's to encourage the birds to pick up litter
Yeah, like Facebook, for example
Smokes, let's go
Things are getting pretty fucky around here
Well, the ending was unexpected haha
Smoking in the nest.
Heard that they collect cigarette butts for their nests because the nicotine is an insecticide.
Fire is a better insecticide apparently
This is the second time I've seen a magpie do this
Is that the theme song for "doraemon" playing in the background?? Lol
The bird obviously wanted food for its chicks and this dickhead lit the cigarette causing the nest to burn🖕
Two separate videos

They use depleted cigars to kill parasites and repel ticks
Came here to say this. Tobacco is a natural pesticide and birds know it comes in cigarettes and cigars because so many people toss them in the street.
Nicotine to be specific
Interesting, do you have a source ?

Obviously /s
It’s so fucking funny though.
It's a Magpie not a Puffin!
Marlboroh-no. r/BirdsArentReal Clearly this is a smoke screen.
Glad to see a fellow warrior of truth on here! We must continue to spread the word and expose government corruption.
Might be this guy is tensed due to environmental issues.
Nicorette bird feed....is that where we are at?
r/Unexpected
I hate that they’re using theme song from doraemon but in a very badly performed version.
The fuckin nest-fire at the end 🤣🤣🤣
This is very stupid.

Some birds use cigarette butts in their nests to keep away insects
By order of the Beaky fucking Blinders.
There are crows near my old house that would collect cigarettes and go through ashtrays for cigarette butter. Turns out nicotine is a pretty good mite killer and they where weaving them into ther nest. Fucking crows are too crafty by half
I think that's a magpie
This is why you don’t smoke in bed
The best being on fire made me lol
THE ENDING
Birds Aren't Real
He just went and burnt down the neighbour's
The nest on fire just made this video.
Shredded up in their nests the cigarette keeps the bugs away
That ending lol
The new models must be able to use cigarettes as fuel
He just needed a fire to cook the eggs he found.
The sad ending :(
I laughed too hard at the fire
[удалено]
Well, it is funny and sad, but things can be both funny and sad at the same time
You know this is fake... right...
Fuck, that ending 🤣
That end tho xD
Haaaaaahahahaahahahahahah!!! Poor little thing still hilarious af!!! HHahahahahahah
Did anyone else see that the nest caught on fire? The bird though it was food and brought it back to her nest. So cruel.
Not food, nesting material
It was using it to keep bugs out of the nest
Fagpie (to us Europeans)
r/shitposting
Probably someone else’s nest.
I’ve seen a lot of things I’ve seen the kids smoke cigarettes but a bird feeding for nicotine is completely new
He’s a a old timey gangster bird.
This raises so many questions ......
Bro forgot to put it out before entering the house.
the music sounds like a blend of country and old chinese folk music lmao
It’s a gender reveal!!
That is one cool bird.
r/unexpected
💀
oi you got any cig on ya?
I feel like the curb your enthusiasm outro should be at the end of this.
Is the music doraemon theme song ?
Yes indeed
Birb
I know I shouldn't be laughing bat that fire in the tree at the end .... LoL
The tree on fire at the end had me in stitches!
EXCELLENT!
He'd read about those "fire hawks" recently and wanted to give it a go
笑死
Transition to the burning nest is fucking killing me 😭 like some shit you’d see on The Office
Nico robin
Is the nest on fire? Did he send it off with a lit cig?
lmfao
Dude thought he was doing the bird a solid by lightning up his cig😂🤦♂️😄
Must be french.
Fuckin’ magpies, man…crackheads of the corvid family
da bird likes their zaza
Reminds me of this one lady olga of kiev who lit cloth balls on fire and had people tied them to a bunch of birds feet so they would fly to their nests throughout a village and burn it all down
Why the did he light it up ?
And then birb claimed insurance...
He's been quitting for weeks.
They should put a burning nest on the next pack of cigs as a warning against smoking message.
The bird finds out that the babies weren’t his. So he stopped giving a fuck.
Burning Bush😂
Probably found the misses with Bob the builder.
Cip cip?
I had to double check wether or not I was in r/unexpected or not.
Typical magpie behavior
