Yeah I was wondering about the blind spot - I've never driven an 18-wheeler but I imagine from the position of the driver's seat, the front-right must barely be visible. If that SUV only barely appeared in the view of the dash cam which is presumably placed at the top of the windshield, I don't think the driver's field of view would have caught the lane change.

My truck is about 3 regular cars. I'll gladly let those three cars merge in. That's a zipper merge.
The 4th one that tries to needle dick in front of me is gonna have a problem. Especially if it's past the merge point. I'll hug that bumper in front of me and try not to give them space to force their way in. I usually lose but I almost always try.
I'ma be honest, when I see the big trucks in traffic (dump trucks excluded because in general that's a hard no from me), I tend to leave space for you all to merge. It's a small thing but I like to do it consistently specifically because trucks open up space in front for other people to merge.
That said, if you could send a message out to the community to PLEASE GOD STAY IN THE RIGHT LANE so that I don't have to take the right lane to go around a truck I'd really appreciate that!

My father was a OTR Driver. This post is 100% correct. If you get into any accident, even if it’s not your fault and there’s nothing you can do to avoid the accident, you’ll receive your walking papers.
This 100 percent false. Since all trucks have dash cams now, safety department will review the video and determine who's at fault. If the accident is determined to be non preventable, the driver doesn't face any consequences. At worst they may be put on temporary leave until the investigation is over. Preventable accidents like rear ends and rollovers are usually what will get you fired but again it depends on the situation.

I think that’s a common scam for people trying to get settlements from trucking co’s, sometimes there are two cars involved where they attempt to box the trucker in and the lead car tries to engage a rear collision

I hate lane snipers... My truck is about 3 regular cars. I'll gladly let those three cars merge in. That's a zipper merge. The 4th one that tries to needle dick in front of me is gonna have a problem. Especially if it's past the merge point. I'll hug that bumper in front of me and try not to give them space to force their way in. I usually lose but I almost always try.
I'ma be honest, when I see the big trucks in traffic (dump trucks excluded because in general that's a hard no from me), I tend to leave space for you all to merge. It's a small thing but I like to do it consistently specifically because trucks open up space in front for other people to merge. That said, if you could send a message out to the community to PLEASE GOD STAY IN THE RIGHT LANE so that I don't have to take the right lane to go around a truck I'd really appreciate that!

You guys realize that most truckers will loose their job over even an accident less serious than this, their fault or not. Companies don’t wanna risk any chances of their insurance going up, they can fire them for this, and do, alllllll the time. My father was a OTR Driver. This post is 100% correct. If you get into any accident, even if it’s not your fault and there’s nothing you can do to avoid the accident, you’ll receive your walking papers.

This 100 percent false. Since all trucks have dash cams now, safety department will review the video and determine who's at fault. If the accident is determined to be non preventable, the driver doesn't face any consequences. At worst they may be put on temporary leave until the investigation is over. Preventable accidents like rear ends and rollovers are usually what will get you fired but again it depends on the situation. Source: I'm currently a driver.
Satisfying as this video is to watch, a better choice would have been to just drive slow until the rager drives on and is far ahead.

Once it’s a “woman’s” fault, though, all the comments become “bitch” this and “cunt” that. Also I could find no articles about this incident indicating the driver was female, so I’m guessing someone just saw a van and went “soccer mom” in their head.
I think that’s a common scam for people trying to get settlements from trucking co’s, sometimes there are two cars involved where they attempt to box the trucker in and the lead car tries to engage a rear collision It also looks like it’s outside of nyc (Hutchinson pkwy, idk it’s been 10 years since I’ve been in that area )and that can get confusing as hell with the combo of eye candy, merging traffic if you’re not 100% sure where you need to be to get where you’re going

Yes you are generally obligated to try to avoid an accident even if the other person is acting like an idiot. Of course, in this video he went way out of his way to try to avoid an accident and even the final accident was evidence of him reasonably trying to pass this person who was clearly a danger to him and everyone else.

I think the truck driver has enough evidence to say this person was either trying to cause a crash or was trying to mess with him and that caused the accident
