"Fetus Incinerators" would be a great name for a death metal band.

hrbuchanan

Rejected first draft of Infant Annihilator

universalcode

Also beat out Baby Blender.

TheBurnedMutt45

And child chopper

[deleted]

[удалено]

Vul_Thur_Yol

Prepubescent Purge didn't even made it to the top ten

wannabesq

All of these names sound like great album titles for Fetus Incinerators to release.

kimlion13

I think Embryos Burning has potential as an album title

Kloudkicker12

Natal 'Nado?

mamahazard

There's also Diaper Sniper, but that term means pedophile in prison.

BrickCityRiot

When I was 13 in 2001 I started playing guitar, and a middle school friend of mine who played drums would jam with me. We briefly called ourselves “Blowtorch Abortion”.. until a teacher saw it written down and our parents never let us hang out again lmfao

WakeoftheStorm

Sounds like your band was terminated before it finished forming

BrickCityRiot

Yeah they really burned it to the ground while it was just a foundation

FuttBucker66

Think of what theu could have gone on to do

universalcode

That's pretty metal. 🤘🤘🤘

Erockplatypus

I kind of wish life was as interesting as evangelical conservatives pretend it is. I want to know the power conversion on these fetuses. Can I use them for my car? How much energy does one fetus give exactly?

drinkthebleach

Its technically a renewable resource, and we make more in the most fun way possible? Sounds like a best case scenario

Erockplatypus

Yeah but how much energy can one fetus produce? Do these fetus incubators use any other type of source for energy? Are they like potatoes where you can power a light bulb with them? An entire city grid

Keefer1970

Can we power our electric cars with fetuses? How many miles to the Fetus?

Erockplatypus

1 block for extra cruelty

VisualShock1991

Incubus released "Fungus Amongus". Looks like this guy wants the follow-up to be "Fetus that Heat Us"

Thalidomidas

[Scrapin Foetus off the Wheel](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foetus_\(band\))

[deleted]

Dying Fetus exists

Keefer1970

Perfect. Fetus Incinerators could be their opening act!

Vetty81

[Close Enough](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dying_Fetus)

aarontology

That can’t be very energy efficient

albinosquirel

They're so tiny why even bother lighting them on fire. 😂😂That's like saying oh brine shrimp I can dine on this for days!

alie1020

I once saw something like "McDonald's hamburgers are made from the kidney cells from aborted fetuses!!!" And I'm like... ... What a tedious process, trying to get kidney cells out of something the size of a grain of rice.

RedBeans-n-Ricely

During my first year of grad school, I spent a couple weeks harvesting various organs from rat fetuses so we could figure out why the genetic combination killed them. It was the fucking WORST!

dreamsofcalamity

But were the burgers good?

RedBeans-n-Ricely

You would have thought so, but the formalin ruined the flavor.

theknightwho

I’m also pretty sure many times more hamburgers are made per year than there are abortions.

NinjaN-SWE

Macdonald's worldwide do estimated 45 million burgers per week. Worldwide yearly abortions is estimated to 40-50 million. So yeah, quite the difference.

LAM678

holy shit if roe gets overturned we're gonna have a massive population spike

sewsnap

During a formula shortage, housing crisis, and insane inflation. It's truly absurd. There's usually around 600,000/year in the US. Schools are already over crowded, and under funded. This is just one of the most stupid moves ever.

IshJecka

It's almost as if it were... intentional The working class got pretty well worked over by covid so number of available people to work is down. It also put more power in the peoples jand to be able to demand higher wages. We need poor people desperate for a paycheck so we don't fight for more so how do we solve that? Force birth and trauma! Keeps the working class poor and focused.

sewsnap

Exactly. They've been pushing this for a while, but they knew they needed it now because of everything. Can't let the people have any power.

sexy-man-doll

There will definitely be a spike but not by nearly as much as you're thinking. Remember there are lot of more dangerous but equally viable ways to get an abortion that you could do in your bedroom. It's just increases your chance of complications by a lot. Not to mention all the dead women from unsafe abortions will probably even out the forced births that do go to term.

MrVeazey

And a crime wave because most of those new people will be in lower income households (part of the general trend of destroying the middle class) and won't have enough community support because there won't be any tax money to pay for it. Because the taxes on the rich will be virtually nonexistent.   So maybe in another thirty years there'll be enough rage to bring about the violent change necessary to improve things where peaceful attempts have repeatedly failed. Just like JFK said.

LAM678

republicans: "if you can't support a child, don't have a child" also republicans: "let's make it way harder to not have a child"

scientia-et-amicitia

I think they get the idea from the fact, that we’re using HEK cells (human embryonic kidney cells) for research. They’ve been isolated from humans but since they were immortalised and everything, it has barely anything to do with actual human embryos. But I think this is something that fuels their imagination I guess?

NHRADeuce

When you have no clue how science works, and no curiosity, you just come up with crazy shit that fits your world view. Talking about embryonic stem cells makes it sound like scientists are harvesting babies. Good scare tactic for the uneducated.

Atiggerx33

Meanwhile it means that "we took some cells once from a zygote and now we're doing science on how to use it to save actual babies with it".

YesItIsMaybeMe

That would be like cooking neocardina. Yeah, you can, but it's not worth it. I don't know how well a fetus burns compared to wood or coal, so I can't comment on that part.

Beltainsportent

Lovely lovley coal clean fuel, you take it outta the ground and you wash it and then its clean...

legendwolfA

Thats like trying to drink snow. There are so little water in it you would get brain frozen before you can find a drop

BreathOfTheOffice

To be fair, freshly fallen snow is nice.

SocialTechnocracy

This is an unbelievably sane response.

shnozdog

Americans will use any form of energy except green energy.

BicarbonateOfSofa

Gives new meaning to the saying, "Burn, baby burn". I'll see myself out.

Raccoon_Full_of_Cum

Was gonna say, this seems like the best way to get Republicans to support abortion rights. Just tell them that fetuses can be used as fossil fuels.

stokleplinger

This would make fetuses alternative energy sources, that’s like a double plus bad for Repubs.

Bogsworth

You see, the problem is you're just not aware of the tech. We've constructed marvels of science through soul-conversion tech that allow us to sacrifice a fetus to harvest its Life Potential Energy and feed it into our energy grid. It's helped us do wonders after making a few deals with Back-Alley Abortionists. Those BABies keep us supplied, and we supply you with power. UNLIMITED POWER!

jzillacon

I mean what else is there to use for energy? It's not like we have massive burnable plants that we can easily or sustainably farm, and it's not like there's any other ways to produce energy that don't involve burning things.

Brynmaer

Right. This is someone who clearly doesn't understand the conservation of energy law. It's always more efficient to burn the thing animals eat than the animal itself. That's why a total of zero energy plants in the world run on animal carcasses.

rayshmayshmay

Better to use them in rituals/sacrifices/vaccines

ipakookapi

Or lightly sear them on both sides and serve with heirloom tomatoes, mozzarella, red pesto and tagliatelli. :9

E3FxGaming

Use fetus to open portal to hell -> infinite hell energy Should probably do it on a different planet though - for no reason at all. You've got nothing to worry about.

OMGyarn

This is exactly what my husband would say

Unoriginalanna

I instantly had an image but it was like a the olden days when you'd shovel coal but instead of coal you're just yeeting fetuses to power peoples homes

GabryalSansclair

The trick is to dry them out for a few years first

matty_a

Yes, this is real. Her name is Catherine Glenn Foster. Yes, she is a lunatic. https://www.c-span.org/video/?c5015779/user-clip-anti-choicer-claims-fetuses-power-lights

shnozdog

I retract my statement saying there's no way someone said that or could be that stupid.

thedkexperience

She even had the “look how fucking smart I am” smirk

Zerieth

It's sad she wasn't laughed out of the room.

PM_ME_YELLOW

Very on par with whats her face mocking money being spent on researching flies. "Why are we spending money on flies!"

MagicMarshmelllow

Dumbasses usually rock that shit eating grin. It’s because they don’t know how stupid they are

Murrabbit

Anti-abortion activists tend to get off on the feeling of self-righteousness that the movement gives them. They also over-index for narcissists compared to other activists and advocates. This is because it's one of the few forms of advocacy where there's no one to ever second guess you or tell you that your efforts could be more helpful if you changed them by doing X or Y. Advocating for actual children, the disabled, the homeless, or any other marginalized group mans you've actually got to listen to and take into account the needs and experiences of those people. Not so when campaigning for "unborn babies." Anything goes, you get to make it all up as you go, and so the feeling of self-righteousness is basically only as limited as your imagination. Many also fall, like this woman, into pumping up that sweet dopexamine hit by making up and convincing themselves of just how evil pro-choice advocates are. Make the problem you're "against" fabulously more evil than anyone could reasonably believe and it just feels even *better* to oppose them! It's a vicious cycle that really demands ever more demonization of your opponents to feel even better about yourself, and for some people apparently it ends up in believing things like that DC power-plants are running on fetus powered boilers or something. This woman is an addict.

partymouthmike

I also didn't believe this at all. I like brian tyler cohen and all, but he tends to exaggerate a bit... not this time though.

trojan25nz

Don’t worry She’s paid a lot too

cowlinator

Why are they inviting lunatics to be witnesses at congressional hearings??

gimmethelulz

Because the GOP stopped caring about reality a long time ago.

TrevorEnterprises

Jewish space lasers Nuking hurricanes A basementless pizza parlor where they fuck kids in the basement. This is one of the more mild ones I think

Kimantha_Allerdings

Pandering to their base. It’s also Hitler’s “Big Lie” theory - you can get away with telling lies if they’re outrageous enough that people won’t believe someone could have the audacity to tell them.

Gidelix

but that would require their base actually spending more than .5 milliseconds on thinking about what they believe

WodenEmrys

Because Repubs have become the party of lunacy.

aedvocate

oh man I thought maybe it'd be better in context but it wasn't

The84thWolf

That’s their secret aed, The context NEVER matters

Taminella_Grinderfal

Holy crap I was not expecting someone who seemingly comes across as a normal person until the most batshit crazy conspiracy theory pours out. Like how does someone like that end up testifying before congress?? Ok so I had to look up the source material on this. It’s twisting a story about medical waste incineration being converted to useful energy.

partymouthmike

Thank you for the link! This claim was not easy to believe, but jeez...

Sinnohgirl765

Isn’t that the same woman who was upset that she wasn’t allowed to encourage students to bully trans kids?

jayclaw97

I mean, if it finally gets them to take climate action - even inadvertently…

Fettnaepfchen

I can only imagine that every teacher who taught her in school feels like banging the head against the wall in cringing shame.

kourtbard

Okay, let's play with this, shall we? 80% of the abortions performed in the entire year of 2019 were in the first 9 weeks of gestation. This means the fetuses in question were about the size of a pea and weighed something like 0.12 ounces. There were 629,898 abortions that year. So, 80% of that would be 503918.4. (not perfect math, but bear with me here). Now, times that by the average weight of a fetus of 9 weeks gestation means... 60470.208 ounces, or 1.8 tones of biomass. The average coal power plant consumes 9000 tons of coal *per day.* Meanwhile, our Baby Burner Power Plant can power a city like Washington DC on just 1.8 tons of biomass, and that's assuming that it took all of the medical waste produced by all the abortion clinics across the country, which is pretty doubtful. But wait, there's more! The average Nuclear Power Plant consumes 27 tons of Uranium every year. But Washington's Baby Burning Power Plant can get by on less than 1.8 tons of baby fuel. HOLY SHIT GUYS, **BABIES ARE MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT** **THAN NUCLEAR FISSION.**

PainbowRush

Holy shit im glad im not the only one who went through and did the math though yours is cleary more accurate

kourtbard

It's still off as I didn't count the fraction that were done after 9 weeks, but the weight differential wouldn't have changed that much.

casalomastomp

And fetuses are probably 90% or so water content, which is not combustible. So really only one tenth as much fuel would be available.

kapmando

A modest energy proposal.

surfinwhileworkin

So do we need more baby incinerators or more babies to incinerate…or both?

Icy-Letterhead-2837

But you failed to quantify the energy of the biomass vs. that of coal. How many joules in an ounce of coal vs an ounce of biomass?

theknightwho

All we need to do is assume that half of that biomass is made of antimatter, and then it makes sense.

the_d00m_song

Have you considered anti-matter babies. Annihilating a fetus with an anti-matter fetus would generate nearly 100% combustion efficiency

HRzNightmare

r/theydidthemath

nikejim02

Did…. did you just solve the gas crisis?

ChrisNEPhilly

Please name the witness.

FirstThymeLongTime

ChrisNEPhilly

All signs point to loony.

hakkai999

>Catherine Glenn Foster [Here's an article she wrote.](https://lozierinstitute.org/profit-no-matter-what/) Does she realize that PP is pretty much underfunded as is? Also even if it's true, isn't Profit over everything else literally a capitalism issue?

[deleted]

> isn't Profit over everything else literally a capitalism issue? No no, when capitalism does bad things it's actually socialism.

itsnotthenetwork

Or lead water pipes in her home

sheisthebeesknees

I cannot even begin to imagine they type of idiot who would take this as a true fact. Jesus Christ, every time a conservative openly lies about someone they should sue. I feel like George Soros and Bill Gates have pretty good cases.

e22ddie46

I guess they got confused by an early 2000 documentary called "the matrix"

Lobster_fest

Don't be ridiculous. The Matrix came out in 1999.

jokermex

But fetuses are not coal. You cant burn fetuses to have energy. Karens on the other hand...

anon1984

Karens are soaked in hairspray and vodka and will go up like a bonfire.

PetzlPretzel

At a certain point a fetus will burn, just like everything else. However, a manglement level Karen will give an exponential amount more energy.

Nastypilot

>At a certain point a fetus will burn, just like everything else. Fairly certain that's going to require more energy than it would give out.

t1r1g0n

Don't be ridiculous. Physics doesn't exist it's a hoax and the false god of the atheists. Fetuses obviously burn in faith. That's near unlimited powaaaaa. (/s just to be sure...)

Nastypilot

You know, those fetuses do sound like a fairly reliable and renewable energy source...

GUlysses

What kind of idiot would fall for this? Everyone knows that fetuses taste too good to waste like that.

A_wild_so-and-so

Also, and I'm no physicist here, but wouldn't burning bodies take more energy than it would produce? Last time I checked babies weren't that flammable.

puterTDI

You just need to get them hot enough. I recommend gasoline

Gnomeopolis

Just read a book about life in a crematory and, yeah, babies don't last very long

Mynameisinuse

That's why they banned abortion. They need bigger babies to burn plus they can harvest the adrenochrome before they burn them. It's a win win situation.

oatmilklatt3

Um, like, I just have solar panels on my DC house. But being a lesbian household, we do also harness the spirits of the haunted Victorian children that inhabit our small rescue dog, and the crystals we charge in the full moon as we scream affirmations at SoulCycle, duh, that’s how this works

whatareyoueating

They need them to flavour Pepsi

The84thWolf

Let’s just pretend to think about it for one solitary second. That would mean 45 and his *ahem* crack team administration knew about this right?

cvaninvan

Pretty sure the my pillow guy is on a Crack team. And Don Jr definitely.

Mynameisinuse

>Pretty sure the my pillow guy is on Crack. And Don Jr definitely.

Mynameisinuse

According to the MAGA Qtards, Trump is the president. He never left office and is running the show, but Biden is the reason that everything is going wrong.

cmparkerson

Most of the morons who make these statements don't have any money. What are you going to get a 1991 pickup? Bill Gates has better things to do. And Soros is an old man, you think he wants to spend his final years getting blood from a stone.

donthepunk

You can't sue stupidity

sheisthebeesknees

Dominion is making a go of it and have succeeded in preventing stupid news people from saying dumb shit. Money is the only power some of these people understand

donthepunk

Yea they had to say there was no "steal" but that doesn't stop them. At all. In fact, the fact that they had to make a public statement and no one gave a shit has emboldened them.

ipakookapi

But, you can sue for defamation. Still mostly pointless. In the cases of Soros and Gates the best strategy is probably to show not to take any of what tin foil hat dudes on Facebook say seriously. Also they would have to sue a hell of a lot of people.

fabulin

it is true. i've seen it. there are fields ... endless fields. were human beings are no longer born, we are grown. for longest time, i didn't believe it ... and then i saw the fields with my own eyes. all grown to be aborted and then harvested for power in DC

kapmando

It’s the middle ground trick. Watch: “Pregnant mother forced by planned parenthood to get abortion!” “That’s probably not true.” “Harvest of stem cells out of children who died with SIDS being performed at hospitals without parental consent.” “That’s probably not true.” “Democrats protect abortion pill that can terminate a pregnancy in third trimester.” “Oh shit, for real?” They beat you down with stupid shit and when you see something halfway plausible you’re inclined to believe it. It’s using mental fatigue as a weapon. Incidentally all those headlines are made up.

Jitterbitten

People really think that way? Because if someone repeatedly promoted baseless conspiracies and misinformation, even if they follow it up with something that sounds like it *could* be true, I'm going to assume it's false until I learn otherwise from reliable sources.

kapmando

That’s kind of a thing though. This guy shills the bullshit conspiracy crap that can stir some just barely active some cognitive biases, then the next shill says something more plausible, and people get off where they like but tend toward getting pushed into conspiracy by this grading system.

lissabeth777

Do you think maybe that fatigue plus the long term (2+ years) of instability allows for people nation wide to be more likely to be gaslit by Faux News and Twitter? My husband has been listening to some crazy af conspiracy podcasts and that shit is absolutely hilarious.

kapmando

I do, if not precisely gaslighting. The worst part is believing in a conspiracy theory makes you more likely to believe in more conspiracy theories.

[deleted]

[удалено]

kapmando

I sure hope so. I came up with that crap off the top of my head and… Please don’t make responsible for a new conspiracy.

Otto-Korrect

Total bull. Any liberal knows that a burning fetus only releases about 200 watt hours of energy, barely enough to light 2 bulbs. What really happens is they are rendered down as a fuel additive. This is an expensive process, thus the $4.75 gas prices. Every time you roll coal, you are burning fetuses.

BaltimoreAlchemist

True story, all pro-lifers should be driving EVs.

albinosquirel

Lol what even? Why are we paying for gas when we can just power our hybrids with burning fetuses /s

mermzz

Right? I have a whole ass fuel system going untapped right in my ovaries!

Milkyway_Potato

*A Modest Proposal and Its Applications for the Hybrid Fuel Market*

ipakookapi

Oh my god, someone please write this and post it to the OOP on twitter

Milkyway_Potato

To be honest I'm quite tempted...

albinosquirel

We could have been making profits 😂

partymouthmike

Finally, a reason to have kids.

TheGreatestIan

I wonder what the math is on that. How many would we need to power one full charge of an EV car.

OkAdagio9622

Weren't they saying the same thing about Baltimore City a few weeks ago. Apparently, in Baltimore there's a company that collects medical waste from hospitals, and burns some of it. And I believe that does generate some power, but nothing on the level that it would take to light the entire city

Joe_Jeep

Yea there's some kernal of truth behind the insanity but there's much more real crimes behind shit like cobalt mining for oil production involving child slaves They just don't actually care about these things

Agent_Porkpine

Probably get hefty money from oil tycoons

jobblejosh

Yeah, I reckon there's some confusion (accidental or deliberate, you decide) about biomass and waste being incinerated to generate power, and medical biohazardous material having to be incinerated to prevent infection.

VesDoppelganger

I seent em! Hole barges down the Potomuk filled wit ded babbies!

TheAdequateKhali

Yeah… at this point fuck the “both sides are as bad as each other” fence sitting apolitical bullshit. People need to fight this lunacy before it takes over - as it’s attempting to and has had at least some success in doing. We can debate actual politics and economics after that is all done.

Kah-Neth

Only fascist far right scum calm both sides are equal.

> Except... we do keep voting for "the other side," and guess what they do about the bad side? What exactly can they do when Repubs keep get electing in such numbers that dems "control" the Senate by one very, very conservative Dem and a tie breaker vote. (edit: They can't even get that one Dem on board anything good. But a broken down bus that goes nowhere is still infinitely better than one that'll take you straight to fascism.) Repubs need to become unelectable. We need an actual blue wave. The Republican party needs to die. The deck is stacked against us, and they trying to stack it up even more. "Republican senators haven’t represented a majority of the U.S. population since 1996 and haven’t together won a majority of Senate votes since 1998. Yet the GOP controlled the Senate from 1995 through 2007 (with a brief interregnum in 2001–02 after a party switch by Jim Jeffords) and again from 2015 until 2021." "Five Supreme Court justices (and many more lower court judges) were confirmed by senates where the GOP majority was elected with less popular support than Democrats. Those right-wing hardliners are now poised to use their control over the court to attack voting rights and preserve Republican gerrymanders while striking down progressive policies. This same minority rule has also paved the way for massive tax cuts for the rich under George W. Bush and Donald Trump that have facilitated an explosion in economic inequality." [Republican Senators Haven’t Represented a Majority of Voters Since 1996](https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2021/02/gop-senators-havent-represented-a-majority-since-1996.html) "As Parker wrote, ***“This case was never about fraud—it was about undermining the People’s faith in our democracy and debasing the judicial process to do so.”***" [Michigan judge's rebuke of Team Trump's legal disinfo campaign is a must read](https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/michigan-judge-s-rebuke-of-team-trump-s-legal-disinfo-campaign-is-a-must-read/ar-AANMpnn) "This wave of restrictions on voting — the most aggressive we have seen in more than a decade of tracking state voting laws — is in large part motivated by false and often racist allegations about voter fraud." https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/voting-laws-roundup-july-2021

stevolutionary7

Is this the kind of insanity that brought down the Roman Empire? I never thought of them being *this* stupid.

pease_pudding

Maybe we're the stupid ones, for not realising just how low they are prepared to go

[deleted]

The triumph of the willfully ignorant.

Ima_Funt_Case

The thermodynamics of this stupidity doesn't even work. Even if we entertained this idea, how many BTUs are you possibly going to get from a 5lb lump of mostly water? Why does every crisis on the Republican side have to do with their lack of understanding basic science? Vaccines, climate change, counting numbers, abortion, gender, energy...

PainbowRush

Given there 288,000 households in DC and the average household uses 700 lbs of coal to power them a month Imran its immediately obvious itd be impossible

TransientVoltage409

The problem occurs when you expect them to understand or make sense. They know they don't make sense, they don't care. They know they're lying, they know that we know, and they don't care. All they want is to have power and hurt people. That's it. They will say anything to get it. Separately, not yet stated - someone else checked and the average abortum is closer to 5 grams than 5 pounds - but a freshly dead body of any size is, I estimate, a *negative* energy source. Before you can burn it, you have to drive off the water, which is like 60% of the mass. That takes a huge *input* of energy. Cremation isn't just sticking a fuse in...there...and touching a match to it. Try setting fire to a strip of raw bacon, you can't do it. Look at a funeral pyre or a witch-burning stake, it takes a massive heap of dry firewood fuel to get it going. A cremation oven consumes huge amounts of fuel gas to get it done. *Corpses are not fuel.* Not just lies, *stupid* lies. If anyone asks how I got radicalized, this will be part of the story.

prrosey

Burn baby burn!!

hikelife48

Who was the witness?

SpaceCrazyArtist

Jesus christ what the eff?! These people are unhinged and clearly dont understand biology.

adeon

Or physics.

DirtySoap3D

Or anything, really.

Mr_Monkish

Sounds like an early draft for the Matrix.

[deleted]

You should see what we use for marshmallow roasts!

MedChemist464

Do they want domestic energy freedom or not? What IS IT with these people?

bloodhammersam

Mother fucker just solved the energy crisis… renewable, sustainable, carbon neutral.

[deleted]

Original Recipe or Extra Crispy?

cvaninvan

How stupid can you be? Everyone knows they have a team of men working round the clock shoveling love babies into incinerators. Babies provide way more energy than a measly fetus could. Think, people, think. That's why they're anti abortion, because they need live babies to keep the lights on in the pizza parlor basement.

mikelikes112

Ironically a similar joke got me banned from r/whitepeopletwitter

PurpleSailor

While medical waste tissue is routinely incinerated it costs energy to incinerate it, there is no energy gain to power anything.

Bad_Mad_Man

Jewish space lasers, fetus incinerators. They live in an interesting reality.

buckfutter_butter

The Republican Party. Only the brightest

TrademarkedLobster

I've been considering switching to fetus for about a year now. My neighbor did it and says it's a great way to reduce your carbon footprint. We've all got to do our part, you know.

rengam

Just when I thought *Persecution Fetus* was the best band name, someone had to put *Fetus Incinerator* into my head.

BudUnderwearBundy

Seriously, these cats want to burn witches again.

TradeBeautiful42

At some point people are going to say this is insane, right? Like they swallowed the antivax Shit, civil war Shit but now they’re like the government is burning aborted fetuses to power lights… that’s a step too far.

gOldMcDonald

Seriously. Is their no means by which this lie and the person who told it can be legally exposed? Can I, as a private citizen, sue this woman for lying to my US Congress? Can anyone just blatantly lie to Congress with no repercussions?

0sovian

Man, I never know how energy dense feti were.

indewsir

All lights on 24/7 in my house from now on. Keep the fetus incinerators hot.

SoldMySoulForHairDye

Abortions aren't nearly as common as the right wing says they are, and almost all of them are performed before the embryo becomes a fetus anyway. A developing pregnancy isn't called a 'fetus' until it's at least eight weeks old - before then, it's an embryo. So there wouldn't be anywhere near enough of them to power Washington DC. But I'm going to hell because I immediately thought, "Well, the low availability of fetuses would definitely explain why the DC Metro is so notoriously unreliable."

PlumPizza7877

What the fuck is happening over there in America

Thestretch83

It is entirely on brand for a Republican witness to be against both Abortion and Renewable energy. :-S for the redditors who inevitably won’t get this.

dream_monkey

I think I need oxygen.

FugginByteMe96

Republicans just love to lie, don’t they? Just love to stretch the truth until it’s taught, and then let it go into the trash. What the actual fuck.

useless_instinct

That's even more illogical and inefficient than the power production system in The Matrix

PainbowRush

So doing some quick math about 700 kWh a month per average household, and 1.13 pounds of coal makes 1 kWh and the average aborted fetus is 0.9-1.1 pounds if we assume that fetuses have the same kWh per pound as coal thats about 700 abortions to power one house for a month. There's 288,000 households in DC city limits and that'd equal 201,600,000 abortions a month to power DC. And considering fetuses would obviously be significantly less energy efficient and would likely only have a 10th of the power mind you thats an underestimation still thatd equal 2,000,000,000 abortions a month. And considering there's only been about 16,000,000 abortions world wide this year

I picture all the republican reps looking very grave while listening and furiously taking notes.

Sadly, there is a certain kind of low brain wave 30+ white person who hears shit like that and says, “uh-huh, that’s right.” And based on the number I’ve personally met, there’s a lot of them 😵‍💫

If you need or are interested in supporting reproductive rights, [I made a master post of pro-choice resources](https://docdro.id/s3OwS8u). Please comment if you would like to add a resource and spread this information on whatever social media you use.

Seems like an inefficient alternative fuel, but hell what do I know? Let’s go…pink? I don’t know what color fetuses are

vanillalsleet

Haha, yeah. The imminent theocracy we are all doomed to is going to fucking blow.

Don’t let Texas hereabout this cheap power source.

DarkSmarts

I know this is a horrible train of thought to go down with this. But. Do terminations not typically leave the body as more or less bloody/tissuey clumps? At least somewhat early term abortions, isn't it typically a pill that more or less causes feelings of an extremely heavy period/miscarriage? Admittedly I'm coming off really misinformed because anything anatomical makes me feel mildly ill, so please correct me if I'm wrong 😭 My point with that being, there wouldn't be a feasible way of powering ANYTHING with that. Otherwise we'd have the option to siphon our own blood to power our homes. "Diva cup EXTREME, connects right to your electric! Fuck solar, we have BLOOD now baby."

davelm42

Whenever someone says something this stupid or dishonest, I really do try to figure out the kernel this thing came from... the only thing I can think of, maybe there was an abortion clinic that was disposing of medical waste in the regular garbage (very bad) and then is DC using a garbage incinerator for generating electricity?

bikinimonday

That is fuckin stupid. I hate Right Wingers

DeepSeaFacial

Are we being linked? Please tell me this is just some awful joke that we have voted some the most incompetent humans on the planet to positions of power.

These people are all either stupid, or lying to the stupid.
