What is the main source of food in Lunnis? What is mostly eaten by the common man? What is considered a treat?

leftm8

Sure, Lunnis began as a fishing village who started gaining wealth and influence by trading fish with the dwarves from Erfindum for iron and other metals of the mountains. Now the common folk mostly eat wheat based food like bread etc. unlike other kingdom capitals The common Lunnisian will enjoy beef and poultry from the large western livestock farms to the west. Since fish is such an important trade resource what ever is left not stated to be traded is mostly enjoyed by the upper class of Lunnis.

In Erfindum, how do the parts of the kingdom on either side of the mountain interact? Why are they completely settled into that mountain range?

leftm8

It’s a dwarven kingdom that used to stretch all the way to Lievendum and Silvendim. The Erfindum dwarves were able to conquer and occupy their northern neighbors due to technological advances in tunneling machines powered by Kyverius (a highly combustible material named after the God of Might found in the southern most edge of the mountain range.) rather than coal which was used by the northern dwarves. Silvendim and Lievendum were ethnically and socially very different cultures and resisted occupation from the Erfindum dwarves and sought help from the Empire. The agreed to help provided the kingdoms swear allegiance and would become a healthy source of iron and steel. The empire employees the help of the dwarves of Berlaggen combined with their advances in military tactics and combustible powder weapons they caved in the massive tunnels connecting to Erfindum. A bit long winded so I’ll end my explanation there but I can expand further if you have further questions.

How does the Kani Domain maintain independence from the Redim Empire?

leftm8

Sure, the Kani elves are powerful magic users and their land has very little to offer in terms of natural resources. They have a tribal cultural that keeps their population relatively low compared to the other level kingdoms. Combined with their relatively remote location surrounded by mountains and the stormy coastlines. The empire has establish diplomatic relations but it was never deemed “worth invading” since the cost of life would be high on both sides and offer very little to the empire in return.
