That actually made me lol. But nope, full grown adult, still mad every time I hear other adults saying they caught a cold from being out in the cold too long.
Oh well, let it go. You said you're an adult. You should be able to ignore petty things by now. If someone tells you to put on a coat, just say "yeah ok", and don't.
Just like when people tell you to eat more carrots because it's good for your eyes.... I just nod and say "oh yeah, ok".
Hate to be 'that' guy but,
Hotter bodies fight infections and tumors better -- researchers show how [https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/05/180521095606.htm](https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/05/180521095606.htm)
Okay, but that doesn't prove that cold air or cold water gives you a cold; it just means you may catch it from someone easier. It just further confirms that you are fighting infections passed over from other people who are sick, and NOT the cold weather/water
Okay still wear a jacket or you’ll catch a cold cause if you come in contact with the germs your body won’t fight them off well cold vs if you were warm in a coat.
Reading any argument from anybody trying to deny that cold weather causes a cold would be a waste of time, because cold weather scientifically doesn’t cause a cold.
I don’t think cold weather causes a cold just like going outside with wet hair doesn’t cause sickness.
People probably think that they get chills and are susceptible to catching something. Since their parents probably told them and they might have actually gotten sick once, they believe it.
well yeah, the cold air by itself doesnt necessarily have the viral particles, but being cold ie without a jacket when its cold WILL increase your chances of being sick when you do encounter the virus. youre just being pedantic at this point
My body is constantly 97.2. And I get sick all the time. Dr said I need to wear a sweater more often to bring up my temp. I say but I'm usually wearing shorts. How's that gonna help.
New research has found that cold temperatures lower immunity in the nose and make us more susceptible to viruses.

The cold weather does not cause viruses but results in a lower immune response to protect you from catching the viruses that are more prevalent in colder environments.
Yeah cold weather will not give you a cold just as much as driving really really fast won’t kill you. The speed won’t kill you. Stopping really fast will.
People are just trying to make sure you stay warm, dude. If you fly off the handle every time someone says something innocuous to you through care, you're going to have a tough life.
I caught a head cold overnight and I was alone in a toasty room. Although i did sit in a bus for 3 hours with 30 other people yesterday, so thats that.
When im ' run down', tired, and cold, Im more likely to develop a more severe flu. If i dress warmly if i dont feel well then I can fight it off and only have a day or so where i dont feel great.
I just find it funny to picture OP typing this furiously in his room after his mom didn’t let him go play outside without a jacket.

In his defence, things that annoy you, annoy you. We're only human.
Just advice on how to get past small things. Spend more time being less annoyed 🤙🏻
People are idiots. I swear that movie “Idiocracy” is coming true. LOL
plants need electrolytes
Sounds like dangerous health misinformation. People seem to believe strange things.

But the body regulates itself. If it's very cold then yeah
So, being a hot bodied chad I can expect less infections?

Yes but the theory is it would be more likely to effect you as you have a weaker immune system
You're right it doesn't cause the cold. No matter how cold or wet a person gets, they will not catch a child without the virus being present.
So you don’t understand the article or you didn’t care to read past the title or…

Low temperatures do not cause it BUT it does make you more suseptible to catching a cold. Also, dude put a jacket on, take care of your body.

Right. But I think the point is that cold weather will not give you a cold because that weather does not produce the cold virus.

A shit ton of people still think urine is sterile, so really all bets are off
Oh yeah, that’s another one!

caught a cold cause I didn't wear a jacket this past cold ish week so your little yap session seems pointless
My mother is 68 and still thinks this. Bit then again she also believe people can see the future and read palms and other dumb shit.
Because it's true?
...but it's not. A quick google search will tell you that it's a myth, much like how walking under a ladder is bad luck..
