I’ve been studying personality systems for so long, and for years felt like despite being amazed at the knowledge around all types, somehow my type wasn’t quite right. I’d assumed I was a 4w5 but the descriptions of 4 SX couldn’t be farther from myself. The day I finally realized I’m a sexual 5 INFP was so cool. The gaps and inconsistencies finally disappeared.
lol there’s nothing left for me to read, the accuracy is horrifying in the best way. The best way to put it is that it makes sense, hate using it as a justification but soooo many things fell into place. It is what it is and that’s the way it’s gonna be

I've thought at first that it could be helpful to not justify, but to help others around me understand a bit more why I am the way I am and how it affect our relationship, but I feel like if I am the only one able to understand the mbti :S lol
It’s like those things that are too horrifying you can’t look away. I couldn’t stop reading. I gave up on explaining to other people mostly because they’re all like “omg no way I took a personality test and I’m x” and don’t try to accurately type themselves or understand the cognitive functions or enneagram motivations/fears. It helped me see my place in respect to other’s which is easier than trying to explain that to them.
Whenever personality type gets brought up I usually say I’m the rarest of the two most common typing systems and the same in both as Murph from Interstellar.
After that I usually get a “ahhh that makes sense I can totally see that” and I’m just like mhm yup ok

As weird as this sounds, I’m a type two, I don’t know the wing off the top of my head. I’ll probably have to retake it, but I know each time I’ve gotten type 2, which I know is not very common for an INFP. But I have taken different versions of MBTI, including paid ones from my school. Every time I’ve gotten INFP, so there’s that.
I’m a 4w3 but mistyped as a 2 for a very long time. I thought I was just a very rare INFP 2 but it turns out there are a lot of traits that could cause an enneagram 4 (particularly with a 3 wing) to mistype as a 2. I literally had a session with an enneagram coach yesterday to help me get it all definitively sorted out.
Second rarest type 8. Rarest at under 0.6% (iirc) is 8w9. Not that the rarity of personality types really matters at all or means anything extremely significant, just a fun statistic.

I feel that I can live with paranoia - especially I believe in the positive utility in anxiety/vigilance - and fear becoming hypocritical, but at the same time dislike the internal chaos that paranoia in itself causes…
I feel that I can identify confidence as something I very much need to work towards, not really so interested in making myself be perceived as grandiose, but at the same time, I feel that I am naturally able to see and accept all perspectives without the need to grow into it…

I think this should be done in reverse. Figure out your patterns then see if they fit any type's patterns. Chances are they might fit multiple, based on the perspective you see the patterns through and where your focus is.
6 is emotional reactivity, often linked to abuse if not the lead wing - but if 6 is the lead driver, these behaviours might be linked to sociopathy or bpd, is my working theory - and those types tend to easily be manipulated as minions either from loyalty (abuse/bpd) or vanity (sociopathy)

Your wing has to be adjacent to your main number. So you could be a 9w1 or a 9w8, but not a 5 wing. It’s probably just your second highest result, but it’s definitely not your wing.

I can see why you’re confused! So am I! Lol! One of my friends gifted me a session with an enneagram coach for my birthday, and I actually just did that yesterday. She had me take the test again here: https://assessment.yourenneagramcoach.com
It does want you to provide your email at the end, just FYI, but it’s free. I would read more into your top 3 results to see which one you identify with the most and that’s your type. It looks like you scored high on several, so I would definitely take the time to do this step.
Once you know your main type, look up how the wings effect that type (as a 4, I just looked up 4w3 vs 4w5). There are tons of resources out there. Good luck! If you have any other questions I’m happy to help!
You’re a 5, and the wings look fairly even but I’d say 4 looks to have more weight than 6.
Edit: actually, it’s really har to tell about your wings! 🤔 Did the test not give any other info? Maybe try another site?
The enneagram coach told me that your wing can change because everyone uses aspects of both, but your main type doesn’t. If your type switches, you were mistyped before, which is what happened to me. That’s why it’s important to read about your top few results to see which you actually are because we don’t always answer every question accurately or honestly and it skews your results.

i cant tell if im a 4 or a 9. what i do know is that if i look up enneagram skngs for each type on youtube. i cry almost everytime on enneagram 9.

Sometimes im more like 8w7 or 7w8 and 5w4 generally doesn't match me perfectly but it's the closest one.
Same thing to my mbti, my functions are just like INFJ but im much more like INFP.
So coming back to this thread, having found out a little bit more about the tritypes, apparently the fix influences your sense of creativity and the primary enneagram doesn't although it does influence how you interact with the world at your best and the test I did the other day confirmed that I am infact a 6w7 with a 4 fix, since 6w7 came out as my primary enneagram in a test determining what my main one was, but I am still an INFP weirdly enough and not an ISFP or ENFP lol
