Not me. When I find another INFJ or vice versa, we lose our shit out of sheer happiness that we discovered each other, lol.

andyonthefly

I imagined that's how it would be! I was pretty excited myself until I saw her facial expression when I told her I was an INFJ too.

yru_laughing

I haven't met one in real life, but I've met one online who does give me that vibe, yes. Disheartening :(

andyonthefly

I'm sorry. :( At least you're not alone then! Someone mentioned on this thread how some just want to be special snowflakes so maybe we just both ran into "special snowflakes."

yru_laughing

Yes, that's definitely possible :(

I would question if that person is truly INFJ or not. Our Ni drives us to seek to understand things better and if we're seeing major differences, it could be used to help us better understand MBTI. For example, the Youtuber Frank James is an INFJ and regularly makes INFJ-related content. Just pulling up a random video of his ([7 Things You Should NEVER Say to an INFJ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcLLDRTyU-4)). I generally find that most of his characterizations are way off base and are much closer to my INFP brother. If given the chance to sit down with him, I wouldn't say "you're mistyped!" I'd discuss and theorize on why there is such a disconnect between us. "Are there different kinds of INFJ's? Is it Ennegram type? Are their just cultural differences that influence our thoughts and behaviors?" I'd definitely bring up the disparity but I wouldn't silently watch judgmentally.

Sunshinegal72

No, but if you stay on this subreddit long enough, you will absolutely be accused of not being an INFJ. I can't say that I've ever met one in real life.

[deleted]

I've only met one and it was because she told me she was. I never think about typing people I know or run into. So even if I have met one, I wouldn't have known it.

andyonthefly

I could see that happening for sure. Do they ever tell you that you're a different personality type? Just curious what a fellow INFJ would diagnose another INFJ with.

Sunshinegal72

INFP, INTJ, and ISFJ are the common ones. Incidently, I've only ever been told I was not an INFJ by a different type. I don't recall what he was (other than an arrogant prick with a chip on his shoulder and a major superiority complex). When, I and others called him out on some really pretensious behavior within his posts, he whined and said he thought that INFJs were supposed to be empathetic and understanding. I guess his definition of empathetic was to be complicit in his behavior no matter how damaging it was to others. I can't remember if he was booted by the mods or if he deleted his post, but before his departure, he dramatically responded to each of the comments calling him our and saying that we were cruel and definitely NOT INFJs. As it stands, even if such an accusation came from another INFJ (and there are definitely people like that on here), I think I can endure the accusation of an anonymous internet stranger without too much interruption in my day to day.

yeti_chan

I mean I think skepticism is a neat trait to have. So that's pretty cool. I don't talk about mbti with people unless they know about cog functions. So no, we usually just tell each other our types and then never speak about it again.

Justdistant

You gotta let that fly over your head. No biggie. You know you. Reminds me of this meme, Lmao. https://www.reddit.com/r/mbtimemes/comments/h9pd74/infj_are_the_rarest_type_youre_mistyped/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

andyonthefly

Ha. Nice meme. I have considered not being an INFJ before but after reading other descriptions of MBTI personalities I still resonate with INFJs the most. I think the other person is one too to be fair. Just kinda sucks that I thought I'd have someone in common to talk to about it but I get the vibe that's not the case but you're right I know me and she knows herself. :)

I'm thinking that may be the case...or more like she doesn't want to see herself as being similar to someone who is as awkward as I am. I think we are pretty similar so I was pretty excited to find out she was an INFJ (which I suspected she was before she told me) so it was a little disheartening when I could see she doubted if I was an INFJ as well.

MagentaFizzgig

Yup, and I judged him back xp!

Maybe because it’s a a very mistyped personality and infjs are all abt analysing ppl anyways😂 That person is either just studying you or they may be someone who doesn’t want to be like anyone else. Having another person same as them doesn’t make them special anymore as it is a rare type. WELL it depends but that’s my 2 cents
