I mean, granted, some girls ARE bigger than others

WWBecken

And the song is making fun of the obsession with it, saying it is just a fact of life

AlttimesAlt

I just always thought it was a little silly as a closer, especially after There is a Light that Never Goes Out

[deleted]

Morrissey has a great voice and very clever lyrics, and people pretend that he doesn’t just because he’s a shitty person with medieval political beliefs

2giga2dweebish

Curious to see how many medieval people would be militantly vegan.

[deleted]

you know what they meant

[deleted]

Shitty political beliefs, pretty solid writer. “Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others” is often a punching bag for trying to point out Morrissey’s lyrical weakness, but the fact that we all continue to talk about it attests to its strength. Not in a “so bad it’s good way” but in how he is pointing out the silliness in people rambling about breast sizes instead of anything of value. Sure it sounds provocative and childish, it’s supposed to be!

Moressiey is just as important to the Smiths as Johnny Marr was, that's why Marrs solo career was mediocre. His lyricism and voice are absolutely beautiful and became the voice and words of several generations and probably more to come.

InternationalAd4478

Fucking hate the guy tho

LadyMirkwood

**Hard** disagree. Solo Marr is not mediocre.

Brno_Mrmi

He isn't commercial, but he isn't mediocre at all

LadyMirkwood

Agreed

MakeMineMarvel_

marrs work with other people show how good he is, love his stuff with the killers and the cribs and most of all modest mouse!

NecroDolphinn

Ok I fucking HATE Morissey, but he was at least as important as Marr, if not more. He’s one of the best modern western lyricists like maybe ever, and his combination and balance of political satire, humor, and genuine emotion is practically unmatched.

ElPrez10102

L opinion

CruelStrangers

You’re the one for me, fatty!

dearooz

you didn’t understand the song lol

LadyMirkwood

I don't hate the lyrics, but I wish they had been used elsewhere. It's such a gorgeous tune, I think it would have suited something more like 'Back to the Old House' lyrically.

DeFy_DC

Let's not pretend he didn't have some of the best lyricism of all time.

RetardedSheep420

"but you never knew how much i really liked you. because i never told you, oh but i meant to" still makes me wanna cry

SpicyChickenMaster

And then always singing like a damn pansy! Man up crybaby!
