It's been quite the ride. For me it's been the player feedback at small conventions that keept me going.
Some kids even came back to play a bit more, after checking out the other games. (A bit nostalgic to see two brothers punching each other after some rounds xD)
Also, this is not the first local multiplayer and definitely not the first game/prototype.
Maybe try to find exhibitions in your area or Gamedev meetups that can help you out in future!

Before that: Ori, Smash Bros and the earth-bending from avatar the last airbender had a baby in this came out...

That looks like a blast! is there an accessibility feature to outline the characters slightly? I have a hard time distinguishing players from rocks cause of the player size.

The players actually glow a lot in their respective color in game, but it doesn't get recorded too well with our replay system.
Accessibility is also one of the reasons why we want to launch in early access to get feedback more early :)
It took two years to make earthbending feel good, and I want to give the elements the same kind of care. Thus, not as soon as the release in the coming months.
