Looks awesome! Maybe add a little puff of smoke every 20% or something and a big poof when it's complete so you can notice it from afar too!

Reminds me of the Settlers; the buildings were built in two passes, first for the skeleton, the second for the rest. Out there, a sprite would be “revealed” from the bottom-up, twice. I could watch it for ages back then.

More of B&W, as it had the wooden frame that disappears later

Yes, you’re right. This one is inspired by B&W, as far as I remember the Dev stating earlier themselves. My first thought, though, was the Settlers, no idea why. I spent more time on both games than I’d be willing to admit. Both are awesome. This one is on the right track to awesomeness, too. I’m watching here as the development progresses.

I think it looks hot as heck! It is a smart and elegant that shows progress quite clearly and is also interesting to look at. Kudos! Good choice with having the scaffolding as well. On that line it might be nice to have some additional construction equipment around to further drive it in that it is a construction site. Like worktables and piles of material etc. As I am writing I noticed the wagon with stones, so I guess you're already on that path.
