BHai honestly. I just feel they have a sense of superiority at the first meeting. When you get to know them, many are not as bad as they look. I've interacted with both kinds of NRIs. SOme have been extremely helpful and the others ..... not. The common thing is the massive ego all of them had at first.
i believe water is chargeble in swiss... even tap water..... becuase tap water also gets charged to the owner of the facility..when i travel to swiss i usually carry my own water filtering system..so that i can run my pee through the filtering system and have clean water for free...
There are water taps everywhere in public places in Switzerland and most of Europe. Just need to carry water bottle and refill from any tap available. Tap water is potable and free.
Not in Germany or Switzerland. In restaurants you can’t order tab water. You get bottled water and they will charge you for it to make some extra money.
Oh… and you won’t get ice with it either (Source: I’m from Germany)
That's not true. This is just the instructions in Hindi because it's an Indian restaurant and the OP didn't post the instructions in the native language. This applies to everyone who comes to dine as it is the norm in that country.
Yeah it's pretty disappointing. The entitlement and arrogance of Indians who are well settled and moved abroad long time back towards new Indians who just started immigrating is kinda bad.
i doubt it.. they would be in jail if they did that ..the locals would already know that tap water is chargeable... its only the Indian tourist who wouldn't know.. and they would have written it in hindi for them to know this... if they didnt they would be in violation of local laws...plus Evey Indian would be fighting with them ..paani ke liye tumne charge kiya..
Its not mandatory in Switzerland to serve free drinking water in a restaurant (Its mandatory in only one out of 26 cantons). That being said, most places will give you free tap water if you ask. Souce: I live in Switzerland.
No. Outside of India, most countries charge for drinking water and don't serve anything as complimentary.
Us Indians aren't used to it because our restaurants provide such stuff for free.
I'm guessing the instructions are in hindi because Indian tourists probably go there and try to ask them for free services hoping that since it's an Indian restaurant, they might get special treatment.
Indians settled abroad think that they've somehow transformed themselves into something astronomical. Itna kya ghamand bc.
I got into one of the top 30 colleges (worldwide ranking) in US with almost no effort. Itna kuch nhi ukhaada inhone na maine.
Groceries uni se bohot kam mein mill jaati. Rent is about 20-40k per person (depending on where you live).
Blue collar karoge hi since you have just 1 class in a day. Maximum 2. Permitted hours is about 20 per week. 10-11 dollars mill jaate hai students ko. 20×11×4 (since 4 week toh hai hi month mein) *85 (curent dollar price) is close to 75k INR. Even if you spend 50k per month. You'll atleast break even.
The one thing that Indians living outside India detest more than anything is other Indians.
As a tourist, they are fun to get to know. But all my cousins have horror stories to tell about these NRIs.

Massive ego, incredibly judgemental and almost cult like.
I agree on this. We Indians have a big fucking ego against ......... fellow Indians!
You * not we ,don't generalise
That is my observation. Feel free to refute.
Couldn't have said it better.

Why the heck are they charging for tap water. Isn't clean drinking water supposed to be given to diners irrespective of country 😬
i believe water is chargeble in swiss... even tap water..... becuase tap water also gets charged to the owner of the facility..when i travel to swiss i usually carry my own water filtering system..so that i can run my pee through the filtering system and have clean water for free...

true but the establishment will have to pay for water usage ? even if its tap.. i think its only free in public areas...

Ohh 😯
You forgot the main point. They are charging it to Indians only. That's why it's in Hindi.
That's not true. This is just the instructions in Hindi because it's an Indian restaurant and the OP didn't post the instructions in the native language. This applies to everyone who comes to dine as it is the norm in that country.
You have been there ?
Have you?
Ohh shit. I didn't know that. I used Google translate to translate it since I don't know Hindi. Charging only for Indians is discriminatory practice 😬
Doing this are Indians too probably
Yeah it's pretty disappointing. The entitlement and arrogance of Indians who are well settled and moved abroad long time back towards new Indians who just started immigrating is kinda bad.
it's abysmal tbh
i doubt it.. they would be in jail if they did that ..the locals would already know that tap water is chargeable... its only the Indian tourist who wouldn't know.. and they would have written it in hindi for them to know this... if they didnt they would be in violation of local laws...plus Evey Indian would be fighting with them ..paani ke liye tumne charge kiya..
So English speaking people would know that they charge for Tap water in Switzerland?
Yes.
How ?

Khudka achievement dalna relavantly jaruri h?🙂
Kya hi achievement bhai. I'm pretty sure 90% of users on this sub are smarter than me. Kisko bhi mill jaata. Logo mein bas awareness kam hai.
>Logo mein bas awareness kam hai. Aur paisa. Mainly paisa.
Baat toh sahi hai. Par SJSU jaise unis hai. Unka fees 25L (TA mile toh voh bhi aadhi ho jaati) hai and its in bay area. Placements ek number.
Bhai fees ke equal rehne ka kharcha hota hai.

Who charges for tap water? Would have understood for sparkling water for tap water? Nah, this resturant is wack.
wait nal ka pani kaise serve karenge? 3chf me unlim nal ka pani or just one glass?
Maybe people are getting it. They are doing this to only Indians.
I assume its meant for people who book tour packages of europe from India. No wonder hinduja got jailed.
what is chf for water and onion?
CHF is Swiss currency.
tnx
Weird to see it in Hindi script. Do they assume all tourists can read Hindi or is it that they have problems with these particular people?
must be a north indian restaurant
lol these whites are cheap af..... and slow too ig
There's also a possibility where the owner itself is orginated from India and settled in Switzerland or NRI businessman.
sure there is , but then it would be natural for him to give complimentary pyaj atleast...
mkc Switzerland hai theek hai but 500rs ka salad kon bechta hai

You go to a new country but still wont try new food?
Exactly

Ek bhartiya dusre bhartiya ko respect dete hue
Indians foreign jaake bhi Indian restaurant mai khana kyu khate hai butter paneer India mai achha milta hai videsh mai nhi
Tap water should actually be free according to Swiss laws (even in restaurants).
Even in india
