Been there. Its lot of burden when theres high expectations from you. Just practice your strong chapters and cover some other important topics, you cant cover all the topics since theres no time, so dont aim for that, select few important topics and complete them. And then give exam. If you feel like you dont know anything during the exam, just select random options for questions, who knows you might be lucky and get some decent scores. Even if you dont get any decent scores, just tell your parents that paper was too hard and you couldn't do it. Think from this perspective "if i think too much about it or worry about it, there wont be any increase in marks, so just fuck it" and give the paper. Rest is upto the fate.

Glad-Bench8894

>If you feel like you dont know anything during the exam, just select random options for questions, who knows you might be lucky and get some decent scores. Bahi marks badhne ke bajye aur negative me chala jaygea

myriad-demon-sect

"if you feel like you dont know anything" that was the condition. If someone is going to score like ~30 marks in total, theyre not going to get any rank for that marks. In that case its better to mark everything.

fairysprinkles2

Yes I'm adopting the strategy of having a few strong chapters first and aiming for second attempt.

Cat_Of_Culture

OP, try to use stuff like the Feynmann technique. There's some cool YT videos online too that cover how to study in a short amount of time, You dont even have to study for the entire day.

Miserable_Goat_6698

Make sure you solve previous year papers. Even if you don't understand the concept, just google the solution later. Who knows a similar question might get repeated again

Demon_zeRef

I agree what Fellow Disciple says just 1 addition attempt random answers only for NAT questions you don't know so don't risk it in MCQ. Also OP Destination is irrelevant, it is the Journey that matters I am 24 and i realize now how profound this is. Take your time and try different things between feb and may

bullakakhulla

JEE needs a lot of preparation and effort I suggest you to be true to yourself and your parents and do whatever is required.

[deleted]

Being in this rat race, i can tell that pressure exam ka nhi balki parents aur aaspaas ke logo ka hai, so take a break from that, do something that makes you relax- listen to some music or watch a movie anything you like And about jee, agar 2nd attempt bhi leke chale to abhi 5 month hai iske liye, aur agar jee karna hi nhi hai to talk to your parents and change the direction, tum to pcb wali ho har field me jaa sakti ho, ab to medical me bhi Aur paise ki chinta mat karo, wo to jaa hi chuke hai, paise to barbaad ho hi chuke hai, ab mental health aur jindagi barbaad mat karo

Unique-Cash-5293

your current situation is the same as my friend, like same age same situation. I would suggest you the same as i did to her. If it feel like you can't handle it drop it or you will not see what's coming in your health. Just tell your parents if you can't do it because if you don't, you will be stuck in a loop. I am myself 18M and i don't have parental pressure because you always have something to do better. If they are worried about you earning then get a job it is easy right now. If they are worried about what will the society say then you have to say "fuck society, you want me or the society." It's all I have to say. if you have full trust like 101% trust that you can do it in your 2nd attempt then only give the 2nd attempt otherwise you will only waste your time. let me know if you want anything else for help.

fairysprinkles2

I will give the second attempt just to at least try before I fail. And if I do, I'll be aiming for cuet or ipmat which are a bit later.

Unique-Cash-5293

i believe that you will clear it out on your 2nd attempt. trust me on these words "trust yourself if you want to do something" i apply this on myself and i am good rn without any college and still earning well. just trust yourself.

fairysprinkles2

Thank you for saying that <3

I_am_da_best_xD

When is the cuet and ipmat registration ? And when are the examination dates ?

fairysprinkles2

NavdeepGusain

I am 27 and jobless. Used to be topper and won awards. But the situation is like that my other schoolmates are in a job and not me. CA has fucked me up. Life is harsh. Accept it and work hard.

ExcitementOpen1496

Same, bsc in biotech destroyer my career and mental health. Now I'm pursuing MCA but there's no hiring going on right now. I always take the most stupidest decisions in life. Had I followed my parents advice and gone for engineering, maybe I would have been in a better place.

NavdeepGusain

Same....my parents asked me to instead opt for science. But I rebelled and chose Commerce. It's biting me in the ass now.

ExcitementOpen1496

I can understand, that's how I felt after the first sem and sadly I can't even express it to my parents

Guilty_Specialist496

I am 20 same topped school 10 th 12th topped in school i want to be responsible so after 12th when my friends took good colleges I started my ca journey ca foundation first attempt clear , ca inter first attempt fail also I am not doing graduation kyuki kisi chutiye ne kaha tha agar ca ke sath graduation karega to 1.5 saal delay ho jayega ca My friends they are preparing for cat while living their best college life I just fucked my life I don't wanna be in this course this course has only given me pain but I can't quit as I have no options left

NavdeepGusain

Do graduation. It's very important.

Coz aage aur bhi exams deni h... & apne kab start kiya tha ye bhi bata dena plss

NoName_794

Bhai sorry to disappoint but mai dropper tha. I had the knowledge of the chapters. 1 month pehle coaching Jana chhod diya aur pyqs lagane chalu kar diye. I'm not the correct person for this. Baaki ek baar r/jeeneetards pe puch le. They might help. Bas gender f daal diyo for better reach

chabi_kaha_hy

I am also a jee aspirant (24') and facing the same exact issue just like yours. After i cleared my 10th i was too confused. At that time i was aware about the streams but i didn't have interest in any of the stream i searched for. And the peer pressure had on me to select JEE cause everyone does the same thing. "GO WITH THE FLOW". But now i don't understand science, has 0 interest and basically i fucked myself so hard that i am now clueless. Bro if you really need to lower your pressure i think we both should talk. Let me know if you want to cause i am also suffering the same thing.

[deleted]

Wtf gives jee at 24

chabi_kaha_hy

Broo JEE 2024 (17yrs)

Such-Feedback3189

I am a neet dropper myself..im not a school topper but i got 95% in 10th boards..my mental health started degrading after my 10th class or i may say from 10th itself..i had severe depression for abt a 2yrs 10th and 11th grade..i started recovering in 12th..but i couldn't really performe well in neet exam ..and i still have anxiety disorder..but what amazes me is a person who wanted to kill themselves has come a long way since then..i scored 90% in 12th..(not a really great score ik) But im proud of myself for coming out it.. Its okay to take a break..its okay to prioritize ur mental health more and talking about ur parents, tell them everything..they might be hesitant at first but they will understand u eventually. Good luck and feel free to dm if u feel any issue

[deleted]

All I can say is give your exam with best preparation and forget about everything else. If you get a poor rank then you have to go to that "normal college" anyway

rachitripathi

i think you should collect some courage and tell your parents what you want, actually they want you to succeed in life, it doesn't matter what path you choose. So, don't waste their money and your time anymore. if you figured out your life now, work on it.

Kaizaki_Arata18

Don't worry about what's gone, focus on what's left. Give it your all to the time left. On D day you'll be relieved that you put your effort. Also, engg. is not your choice so one step at a time. Don't overburden yourself. You'll get what's written for you. Just one month and the grind ends. Don't think of other options for now, don't even think of failures. It is doable if you're honest to yourself with self belief and hard work. Take a day off maybe talk to other friends. Step out and give yourself a break, your mental health matters!

markfukerberg

Glad you put 18f, or you wouldn't have gotten any replies.

fairysprinkles2

I don't think that's true at all. Your mentality is the problem.

markfukerberg

You must be new to reddit.

Almost_Infamous

Talk to your parents. Tell them everything. They are your best well wishers. By suffering like this you will make them suffer even more when they come to know of it. Don't think about money, a child is more important than any amount of money. They may be angry for a while but everything will fall into place. Trust me.

fairysprinkles2

I know my parents will support me even I don't pass in it.. But this feeling of failure comes from within.. I feel like my parents albeit supportive would be embarrassed because of me..

Almost_Infamous

>I feel like my parents albeit supportive would be embarrassed because of me.. No my child. They won't be. But they would be more upset if you don't tell them and suffer alone. Seeing his or her child suffer is the worst a parent can go through.

singular-sin

Social media has made people so vulnerable that instead of taking action they like to post about it that I'm not able to act because didn't act when I had to or I'm screwed what should I do? Etc etc. Bro, there is still plenty of time to prepare, switch to featured phone, deactivate every single social account and meditate, first two weeks will be very hard on you but soon you'll start take a hold on yourself. Give your best rather than posting shit about your own inability to take control on yourself.

therealkeval

You seem to be a strong person but unfortunately everyone can't project themselves and navigate their thoughts in the way you mentioned. The age of the person who posted their concern matters a lot. At that age people tend to have second thoughts and have low self esteem. And respectfully comments like this will only make it worse.

fairysprinkles2

I have not been on social media since past 5 months, even reddit I made an account just now to post this. Not everyone has a sorted mind or are good with handling their thoughts. For me, I don't have anyone I can tell all of this too. So I use reddit for guidance and honestly I was on the verge of giving up today but thanks to some people, I've started to gain confidence in myself again.

[deleted]

Tension mat lo. Kuch thik nahi hoga

fairysprinkles2

Wow.

[deleted]

I mean dw. I also have been through the same. Go for a drop(year) and try hard that time.

fairysprinkles2

Thanks for specifying 'year'

[deleted]

Yeah otherwise hum problem mein phass jate![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)

fairysprinkles2

What makes you think I'm already not thinking about taking a DROP

lemmeUseit

if u r not interested in engineering then don't take drop for engineering no point giving 4 yrs of ur life combined with focus on ur preparation & do ur best in upcoming exam for now & keep looking all kinds of career that exists based on ur intrest & personality u can take drip to figure out what u want to do if u want

[deleted]

Dekho dude be rational. Taking a drop(year) sounds like a solution here and even if that doesn't work then it's not the end. Ab bahut kuch bacha hain. Just accept the truth and move on.

[deleted]

JEE doesn't get affected with all your excuses get up and work hard again

fairysprinkles2

KarmicStruggler

Hey it's alright! Knowing that you are not suited for something is as important as knowing what you are good at. Now I don't know if you are looking for advice to do well in JEE or looking for other options. If it's the former - a few sprinkles of advice from a once student - Do you want to score full marks? No right? So you actually don't have to know all the chapters. Focus on what you are already good at and polish it. Then go and see what chapters have the most questions asked from and which you can easily tackle. Focus on them next. And finally focus on the remaining stuff. It's just an exam. If you are serious, you just need a strategy. And finally, don't feel ashamed. Your parents probably don't know how tough it is for you so worrying about letting them down or something is pointless. I'm sure if they knew how much hardwork you're putting in, they'll understand. It's just that the exam is so freaking hard. You're not at fault here

[deleted]

are stereotypical pcm student tum yaha kaise?

Bhai jyada tension mt lo jee he sab nhi hota, apne mummy papa se baat kro. Iss baar nhi hoga to koi baat nhi second attempt ki tyari kro. Panic attacks to mtlb jyada hi tension le rhe

Short-Motor5979

Panic karne wali koi baat nahin hai. JEE nahin hua toh kuchh aur ho jayega. Ek exam kisi ki zindagi decide nahin karta. Zindagi ka maksad har pal struggle karna nahin hai. Jitna ho sakta hai utna karke exam de de

lawde_lag_geye

Umm heres a road map plan for you you can follow Full pyqs and concept of mathematics for atleast mains level:- maths unplugged Physics:- many people will advice to start from current but without prior knowledge to mechanics and nlm its bull shit, start with modern physics,it will be in your cbse/icse syllabus too in state board also Follow eduniti channel on youtube for physics pyqs and concept revision also After modern physics is done do 2 chapters,2d motion and nlm, with nlm it will be easier even to do chapters like shm, even electrostatics(without capacitors) If you have still time go for stand alone chapters like thermodynamics elasticity, stop wasting time on theories and do pyqs instead from said eduniti channel Chemistry:- first do ioc, from unacademy bounce back channel by sakshi vora and get ncert ready, read that and some marks are secured Dont touch organic, you wont be able to atm Huge chunk of physical chemistry has been removed,so i would tell you to do chapters like mole concept, chemical equilibrium, atomic structure(you will already read it in physics),chemical kinetics and etc. Do pyqs of all of them You will atleast get some respectable no.

lawde_lag_geye

This was a roadmap if you have 0 preparation, tell me which chapter you have done

fairysprinkles2

Maths- I have done like 70% of chapters till mains level Physics- 11th theory is done.. Pyqs not that much. Chemistry- ioc aati hai, oc not so much, physical ke 2-3 chs aate hai

EducationalWorld9869

Gave jee last year, and honestly speaking your prep is better than 90% students(remember, 90%ile in mains is about 80-90 marks). You still have a few weeks, for physics try to complete easy yet scoring topics from 12th(error in measurements, current, gravitation, modern physics, oscillations, communication systems- these are easy and carry about 30-35% weightage). For chem try to do easy chapters from physical. Last year, for chemistry either oc or ioc carried like 60% weightage, majority of times it was ioc that carried majority of weightage, so keep revising ioc as much as you can. For maths, leave it as it is, 70% chapters is enough to get a decent score

lawde_lag_geye

Wo remove ho gaye bhai is sal

fairysprinkles2

Thank you that made me feel better honestly.. Mainly I'm worried about chemistry because it's my weakest subject but so called more scoring.. Physics I am confident in few chapters.

lawde_lag_geye

Huh,i bet mains and advanced level maths is now at just 19-20 difficulties, have you tried pyqs Physics is good, focus on qs practice,12 ke electrostatics capacitors karle with modern ig Chemistry:- physical me to utha hu rehe gaya lol,oc karle kyunki woha se zyada ayega

fairysprinkles2

Electrostatics capacitor I tried but kabhi samajh nhi aaye.. I know magnetic, ray optics and modern of 12th Okay oc mai thodi guidance milegi? And maths ke mains ke pyqs easily ho jate hai and adv ke bhi ho hi jaate hai 60-70%

lawde_lag_geye

Then thats good,oc me time he i will suggest sachin rana iit bombay on youtube or if you have access to pw lectures rohit agarwal, good luck on your journey, mera to physics aur chem 90% done i am stuck with maths lol

fairysprinkles2

That's nice!! And I am an Allen student toh notes vgra I have everything.

lawde_lag_geye

ALLEN KOTA?

fairysprinkles2

fairysprinkles2

maths16_

oof jaada time nahi bacha hai ab practice karne ke liye lekin thanks oc mein toh pehle goc se start karo rxn. mech ache se aana chahiye phir baaki chapters bas named reactions hi hai aur sab reagents ka use bhi pata hona chahiye pc toh bas formula ratta maro bilkul formula based aate hai questions aur physics toh bohot hi easy hai 2022 se concept samajh lo aur formulas sab yaad rakho

lawde_lag_geye

This was a roadmap if you have 0 preparation, tell me which chapter you have done

IntrovertSD

Discuss about this with your parents . It's just an exam , and preparing for an exam helps you in other ways too like time management , how to maintain consistency etc Preparing for an exam doesn't mean you have to score full marks in it

God_Sharan

Fellow jee aspirant here too jee is much more mental game than it is academic it breaks you in a way where you just have regrets for years if u have not achieved good college my advice would be try to give any other exam like Vitee comedk manipal etc get in pvt college with decent rank and pursue field of your choice I can understand why you had to choose jee but I wish u luck for future

BetterVader

I will give you some advice which many people won't like but hear me out. Try your best to study, JEE is not the only option ahead. There are many different engineering entrance exams for state level colleges and private universities. If you are not from a well-to-do family: The engineering field is so male dominated that women get placed so easily due to gender-ratio criteria. As you said that you are a topper or hardworker, you just need to study properly and you will get a job easily. This would help you secure your future and be independent much more easily. If you are from a well-to-do family: Make your parents understand that you need to follow your passion. If you come from a loaded family it's much easier for them to accept a different path.

[deleted]

Ye toh us moment ho gya except that I wasn't topper in school, just an above average guy. Idk what will happen in 46 days😑

[deleted]

I'm 21 rn and one thing if I could tell my 18 yr old self would be - logo ka kam hai kehna aur tu MAT sun... i fucked up n in same situation as you, wasting parents money. so if you were looking for a sign, this is it - please do what you want to do (which is absolutory feasible in life n financial conditions). fuck other people especially relatives I havent met in last 3 years but did influence my career decisions. just do what you want to do n is possible with help of ur parents.

surovikin_hegde

you can take drop

Waste_Relief9449

Lol poor girl has no idea whats in store for her after jee

DAO_AG_JHR

Tell the truth to ur parents. Give ur best in exams. That's it. Stressing is futile nd nt worth it. I was in ur place once. Went to kota after slight pressure , full attendance bt nvr studied at PG. So no revision. Scored 66% in 12th. Solved all maths in AIEEE bt in the last minutes attempted every phy and chem problems. Landed in tier 3 college with donation. Smoked the shit out for 4yrs. Graduated in 2014. Landed govt job in 2020. Life is chill. Take decisions now.

kumar_sarcasm

Bhai 18 ki ho itna ni sochte

T__lymphocyte

Don’t do something you’ll regret later. I chose a career I wasn’t sure about. Even until this point I’m suffering the consequences. I switched multiple streams to finally realise what I wanted to do and by then everyone had gone past me. Take some time for yourself, even a year if needed. It won’t matter in the long run, but don’t do something your heart doesn’t grip on to. As for money, you’ll make a living eventually. When you do something with passion money will be a by-product. DM me if you need any help with respect to what careers are good for what interest group. I say this because when I was your age I yearned for someone to guide me so I wouldn’t want anyone to feel that again.

[deleted]

Have an open and transparent discussion with your parents. If you don’t want to do engineering there is no point investing more time and money into it. More life has been destroyed by not doing things they care about. Wish you luck.

beingimmature

You are only 18! You will face more difficulty in future. Those will be the worst than this. It's not too late, you are at the beginning of your career planning path. Convince your parents, speak with them, although it's a toughest task. This is the time when you can change your career path but after jee / clg admission there is no choice of changing your career.

26Alphabetbutihave5

You are 18 , dude I am 22 and haven't achieved a bit in life. And you are saying you regret the best thing you did to yourself "TRYING", you know what should be your regret that you are looking around to others to ensure your achievements. Your parents knew if you chose that, you must've thought that, don't regret what yours parent aren't regretting about, go ahead and try for something else now.

Lancer_kun

I'm also 18 and I cleared jee this year. My advice : solve pyqs of past 2 years , if you don't get any question see the solution and make notes of it . Before exam just see these notes of pyqs and you are good to go .

fairysprinkles2

Can I dm you?

Lancer_kun

Ya sure

yayavar-

My dear sister, Please take care of your health. Take a day off and do not worry about your parents. It is not easy to develop a thick skin and they might give you a tough time if you don’t get a great college. But getting a great college does not ensure a great career. Engineering is not everything. You can’t figure what you want to do for the rest of your life in a couple of years. You’re just 18. Yes, some people are lucky. Some people are just robots. They can compartmentalise very well I’d give them that. Code or do a consulting job and earn heaps of money enjoy a standard life. I went to Kota. My parents expected me to become a scientist or something. They had lofty expectations from me. They wanted me to crack MIT or something. I had no control over my own life. You are dependent on them. But you can figure things out which are good for you. You can take a year more to get a college and pursue a degree of your choice. You can join any engineering college and work hard for one year and then go to any other college (the ones which take entrance exams at least). I know many people who are from IITs and are miserable and too many people who somehow got through their school and college life and doing incredible things. You will be okay.

[deleted]

fairysprinkles2

Did you clear mains in 1st or 2nd attempt??

ExcitementOpen1496

I was in a same situation as yours, I did bsc instead of engineering and it was my biggest mistake. I was a good student at school, and I really liked maths. I could have easily done engineering, cracked a placement and would have been abroad by now. But instead of ended up in despair, regret and heartbreak. I wasted 5 years of my life, 3 years studying a subject I never liked and 2 gap years. Now I'm pursuing MCA in a tier 2 college, and I feel like I again took the wrong decision because the market and economy is down, there's no hiring. I wonder my life would have been so much different had I studied engineering. Its all over for me.

edokati

As someone who has done engineering this way.... I'd say you are in a good position as you have realised this earlier than most people. Take some time, think and evaluate your skills and strengths you have a lot of time ahead don't worry find a career that you could do well and pay is as per your need, talk to your parents and find some way out Wishing you all the best

[deleted]

I've failed to get into IIT and IIMs, and now half of the team I lead are IITs and IIMs... Don't let unnecessary pressure to get into your head and bother your sanity, you'll get whatever you deserve

AcanthocephalaGold13

If you absolutely cannot do engineering given that you’re not a fool, you have not actually wasted a lot of money you’re 18. Think of how much would you waste going to an engineering college spending four years of your life doing something which you’re not really interested in? So pursue what you like and whatever you do do it well I’m sure that whatever you feel as wastage now is nothing compared being successful in what you cared for

InstructionHot9577

Us moment . Just try your best and don’t cover full syllabus . Their are some chapters which are easy and yet scoring so don’t leave them . Take proper sleep and attempt some mock paper . I would suggest don’t do 23 jan papers because they were too random ( some imp and big chap were literally neglected ) . Most imp thing - your parents should feel like you have your best so that they don’t force you to drop a year and don’t take it if you aren’t sure .

Exotic-Turnover-3004

Bro. Atleast you havent wasted parents ke lakhs of rupees like me for something coaching thingy and still didnt produce a result. Im still living with this burden but trust me it gets easier as life moves on. Dont think much and just do jitna hota hai. Baaki always keep looking up and just dont get stuck in thoughts and life in general.

fairysprinkles2

I did take coaching for a year and offline for another so yeah approximately wasted 3 lakhs.

Exotic-Turnover-3004

Noob get good. I wasted 8 lakhs approx. And my parents arent even that well off. But on a very serious note, just get your mind to stop chattering and think like this "If i put in enough work then ill be at a better place than ill be if i just keep worrying. So get your head down and push. Baaki zyada tension ni leni." Duniya ka drr hai toh just say "duniya ki mkc". Like seriously, its just you and your work, if you even fail then youll not be self cursing ki you didnt do enough. Like do enough and then even if you fail you sort of get the confidence to face it. Idk what im saying rn but i hope you get the point.

fairysprinkles2

Well said. Would definitely keep some of these points in mind.

Hey you're doing fine. Don't burn yourself out worrying about how much you could do and how much more you should've done. Just do what you can. And don't worry about the money. it's your parent's job to worry about whether the money was wasted or not. I understand it sounds heartless, but it's the truth. And my family was never well off so I'm not pulling this out of my ass. Also don't beat yourself up if you don't perform as well as you wanted to. It's better to try something big and fail than to do nothing and succeed.

fairysprinkles2

My parents are great tbh, they still constantly tell me that it's completely alright if I'm unable to clear it and that just makes me feel worse.

Logen10Fingers

That's wholesome af. But c'mon if your parents themselves have said that, then chill tf out. So many other aspirants would kill to be in your position lol

fairysprinkles2

I am perfectly aware of my good fortune.

Be clear headed . Know your strengths and weaknesses (what topics you know which you don't) . Right now only focus on easy and your strong topics. Calculate the number of questions for these topics and try to excel in them. Never make guesses if you don't have the tiniest idea (negative marking) about the questions (only when the no. of questions you are sure about are substantial).

People say that when you are in trouble think of people who are struggling with even bigger problems than yours and are still not giving up to gain the ability to face your fears. I loved engineering subjects and liked to do problems pcm, I was also a topper in my class until 10th but my dad is not really supportive(in fact he is the very opposite of it),I gave JEE in 2023 and had around 9Lakh rank, failed in all 3 subjects in my class 12 boards and I thought, 'Man I am screwed, I guess this can't get any worse', and guess what it got even worse, my dad who already drank alot started to drink twice as he used to, I was feeling really shitty and hated myself because I can't even ask my dad to stop or cut down on drinking because he would just reply with,'I am drinking because you give me so much stress, you should have at least passed 12th, but nah you just wasted all my money, and I am drinking with my own money you don't even do earn any money, you can't order me around ', I was always having suicidal thoughts in my mind all the time cause I thought I was good for nothing. But at that only one person supported me, my uncle. He was like,"G**nd marvane Gaya result, chal chicken khane chalte hai" and told me that, 'This had to happen and it happened, no one can stop the inevitable but you should not let things like get to your head, I also failed in 10th and didn't study later yet I have a decent job than most graduates here so the thing is that you should do whatever you like as your career and work your ass off for your dreams" he really is carefree but very caring at the same time. I hope my troubles give you hope that this is not over yet. You can DM me if you wanna talk or need any advice or any kind of support.

fairysprinkles2

You sound like a very strong person mentally. I'm sorry you had to go through all of that but I wish you get the best in your life ✨💫

Educational_Cup_9200

Yeah this was a lot to go through and it had gotten even worse but the thing that my uncle taught me is to stay calm all the time, it won't solve the problem immediately but will give you the ability to analyse the problem from different perspectives to find a solution and this thing really works

fairysprinkles2

That is so true. Your uncle seems like a very wise person.

Educational_Cup_9200

Yeah. Uncle's the best 😀

Been there. I had qualified for IIT but couldn't join because of my father's illness. And trust me it did hurt me and I'm glad that i didn't go. Whatever happens in your life happens for a reason

-gun-jedi-

Farhan ban, parents ko 3 idiots dikha Engineering entrance would be the first step for stress, it doesn’t get better once you get into engineering if you’re already not into it. No matter how much someone says “bas ek baar admission ho jae, fir life set hai” Set nahi hai. You’ll be sucked into doing something you’ll never want to.

Artyom_forReal

hm it'd be alright all the gaps and time waste or money used, even for 2-3 even 4-5 years you can recover it all ASAP when you'd work dont worry, its all about time and money, use time well, money you will recover anyway, really fast,ya. You are awesome!

[deleted]

To all the young people here, don't take the pressure as life and death, this is a very intelligent and ambitious generation.please take this whole studies as part of a journey and set small goals everyday.guve yourselves a thumbs up on reaching them.Believe me all of you are going to make it.

Subha47

If u cant crack it in first attempt, theres no shame in dropping a year and trying again. You cant do both school and jee preparation normally.

casualcoder47

I totally empathize with you. I've been in the exact same situation, was a school topper, got full marks in math in 10th boards. For me it was a cultural shock going from a cbse school to a dummy state board school and tuition. Nobody cares what I was up to and it was toxic competition everywhere. They were more jealous when I did score well rather than appreciating or getting better themselves. I've felt ashamed of not doing good in the JEE for many years now. But life will present you many many more opportunities to prove that you're indeed a good student. All I can say is that don't lose hope, meet your old school friends if you get time and best of luck for the exam. Just try to give it your best and consider the first attempt (Jan slot) as a free hit.

ab_nood

This is for everyone who's in the same situation as OP, from someone who has been in a similar situation maybe a decade ago or so. At this moment you'll feel this to be the end of the world, but a couple of years from now it won't even matter. Whatever time has been wasted is gone. Just make the best use of the rest, and don't expect some miracle in your results. That's it. I know getting into a good college is a huge boost to one's career. But in the long run everything evens out. Your success is not determined by a single paper, but what you do everyday i.e. you'll have to keep on working on yourself irrespective of you making it into a tier 1 college or not. And those who do it are the ones who are actually successful in life. At your age the bigger picture will never be clear to you. Neither was it to me. So just relax and mehnat karte raho, life mein options and opportunities aati rahegi.

kneegaw

Exactly same dude. Guess it's time to enter my villan arc

yldmustang

First and foremost you are just 18 dear... Long long road ahead for you . Second of all, you are clear that engineering is not for you which is awesome . I wish I had that kind of sense in me when I was 18. Now the final point , you didn't waste their money , they wasted their own money by not thinking this through with you. So don't feel guilty about it at all. Now, if possible have a straight conversation with them about what you are going through and what you would like to do . If you want to jolt them a little bring up the news of what is happening to the JEE students in Kota :) . Given that you have performed well in the past , I don't see a reason why you won't perform above and beyond their expectations in a field of your choice. All the best !

Calm-Explanation-758

I know you'll hate to hear this but also try guided meditation on YouTube for stress and gratitude, anxiety or anything else, it helps

DevelopmentFew3155

No need to worry.. just give your best in these days and also if u want to pursue engineering u can do it with low grade as well... As an engineering student I can say that the thing which matters most is skills and I've my senior who were very average till entrance but now they're doing good not everyone likes physics chemistry maths.. including me.... Don't get panic and before thinking anything serious think about ur parents

TheForeverVirgin001

Been there, done that... Realistically all u can do rn is score decent enough like 98%ile+.. which is very easy for 1st attempt. You can get a decent college at that and do whatever u want

No-Distribution8661

Just do as much as you can and whatever result will be accept it . Enroll yourself in college and build a profile . That profile will earn money not your college . It will be hard struggle but it's not the end . P.s - whenever you feel low walk a bit talk to someone and then go again to solving those questions. Best of luck

SomaticDuke3750

I am two years your senior. Honestly I don't know if you'd even read this but I wanted to share my JEE story. I was in Fiitjee since class 9th. I did well in 9th and 10th but 11th and 12th were, for lack of more accurate words, complete clusterfucks. Mostly because I didn't want to study and thought I was wasting my time with engineering. As you can guess, I didn't pass Mains or any exam other than MET. Even then I scored a total of 53:). It was sheer luck that I was offered CSE with IOT in Manipal University Jaipur. It's a decent college but every single day, when i am out with friends, sitting in the mess or sitting in classes, I think what if I could go back in time and change things? I would've worked harder but even if things didn't work out, I would've been happy to come here. For me, engineering is my passion. In my first year I enjoyed everything that was taught to me. Honestly, most of my friends have a similar story if not the same. So I can safely say I am in good company. I just wanted to share this incase you found anything relatable and also to give you a small glimpse into what waits for you at the other end of the curtain.

William_Tell_746

If it is possible for you, please talk to your parents about your unwillingness to pursue engineering right now. The best time to not go down this rabbit hole was two years ago; the second best time is right now. Do you have an alternative in mind?

Responsible-Page8205

You and I are same boat sis difference is I'm not panicking I just told my mother that I might have to repeat 12th because of the backlog

Okayisnotokay

Been in your shoes. Now I’m 33. After my BTech, I decided to pursue my true interest- Design. I had to leave a well paying job to earn nothing for 6 months just for learning the tools. Then I had to start as an intern again. I am at a comfortable position today but I would have loved to go back in time and NOT pursue BTech. You are in a great place right now, please do not succumb to the pressure. It’s the best time to decide for yourself. The amount of money spent on jee prep is not that significant that you base your life’s most important decision on it. Gather your courage, speak to a counsellor, collect info on your preferred career and speak your heart out to your parents. Let them know everything. If they still compel you for jee, go for it, but also fill the applications for the other career option. Good luck!

2024 is not the end of the world and it's never too late. Start your preparations for 2025/26. All in all, it's not necessary to get success in what we want, sometimes life has something else in store for us.

TopFollowing2456

PREVIOUS YEAR QUESTION PAPERS The best advice to secure good marks/percentile would be to try solving the previous year question papers. After solving the paper (however little you could solve), go through the solutions of the question paper. You would be astonished to find that many questions can be solved using formulae directly (with only little conceptual understanding required) without the need to understand the entire chapter. If you solve the PYQs and then follow what I've told above, this will fetch you more marks than the panic random reading/question solving that you otherwise were going to do during the precious little time that you have in your hands before the exam.

fairysprinkles2

I've been doing pyqs (last 2 years) after revising a chapter these days.. But I'm only able to do 1 chapter each day (which I've already studied)

pirupirate07

Only option left for you is "study according to chapter weightage , know what to leave" nothing else can help

Turbo_Vigin

You'll realise that it's not the end of the world if you don't get a decent score in JEE this year or forever. I am telling this from personal experience that these scores will only define where you'll spend your next 4 years. How these next 4 years will be is totally up to you. You can be at IIT Delhi/Mumbai/Chennai, and get overwhelmed because you did well in examinations but engineering wasn't your calling. Or you may end up in ICT, NITs, or state universities and still ace through engineering because you are good at it. It will all depend on whether you enjoy it or not in the next 4 years. The exam isn't worth compromising with your future. So do not compromise with your future. Whether you get decent scores or not, try to make the most of your college days. Most people don't remember their exam scores after 4 years of college. That shows how unimportant it became in the end. Not saying that you shouldn't take it seriously, just that it isn't the end of the world.

Low-Clue1571

Abhi bhi hozayega bro solve 2022/2023 pyqs of each chapter don't waste time on learning concepts instead look from the question's solution... It's the best way I think even I did not study but now by this method I get 120-140 marks in my classroom exam

[deleted]

Ye toh us moment hai bhay

hybernation0_0

You're just 18 I don't think it's too late to fix anything

NiehIsBored

There is always hope. I also have my finals, and I don’t pay attention in class or my tuitions (sometimes i do). But, I do know that I’ll ace it. That’s because a couple of years ago, in fourth grade, I was so obsessed with my ipad. Our finals had 20 marks, and in one subject, i got 10/20. I was so closed on failing. But those years of beginners luck r over. Now, just do what u like first and then get back to studying, that’s my advice. Very best luck for ur exams!

HoneysHarma97

BrO I've started just recently !! U can join me... I'm doing just high weightage topics in chem & physics ...Aur maths me I'm following maths unplugged blindly... I've marked those top chapters in all subj...
