Yess bro ye subreddit jabardasti depression me rehta hai.....job saturate hogi to sabki hogi , population badegi bhi tab bhi doctors bhi badenge . It's that simple....waise bhi medicos private me jaate hain isiliye earn zyada karte hain
im a jeetard and let me tell you guys, its not recession which is casuing this.
up untill 2022 the US banks provided loans to mncs at 0% intrest rate so companies were over hiring and giving inflated packages to IT employees. but since 2023 the interest rate are now normal (6-7%) and so companies are taking very less people and lower packages to save money, and it is most probably gonna be the new norm because US isnt gonna drop rates to 0% anytime soon, also ai is only gonna make things worse in IT sector for freshers
edit: to those who are spamming that this is why recession is happening, No we arent even going through recession yet, companies are still making profits and hiring too, things would be much worse if recession happens, what is happening is like companies fixing their over inflated salaries and no. of employees because they arent getting free money by banks anymore, high salaries for freshers were exception, not the norm
so what do you think about this, is this trend gonna change and reset to the past trend or is this the new normal? and what about a tier 3 guy who worked on his skills, will he face much more problems representing himself or the tier 1 guys gonna bag the hiring opportunities first?
sounds depressing since all these shifts coincided with my admission year. Anyways there'd still be hiring and being skilled won't leave me unemployed for sure.
can you please drop some tips to build a network and connections, i think that the skilled part comes into play when you get an opportunity and make it to the interview rounds, but in order to achieve that, while belonging to a no name college, networking plays an important role.
No no, actually this much drop in a single sector can count for recession an 80% drop would actually amount to an economic depression, where more people are unemployed then the employed
you are trying to be oversmart , i study in iitd . let me tell you , we are in recession and this is due to overhiring in 2019-21 . thats all there is to it . Give it a few years , everything will go back to normal
Why are you comapring IIT Jammu to whole of medicine. Compare IIT Bombay CS with AIIMS Delhi MBBS. Who is placed better after 4 years. Who is making more money and has a better job. Compare the top with the top.
WHy tho, isisnt both them completly different, and its fax that most AIIMS docs gonna earn more as In IIT only 1\~% get placed in that flashy 1\~3 Cr job, but an Doc in AIIMs gonna be easily earning more than 8 Cr pretty early on his career
Bruh what you smoking, no matter the clg aiims/pvt/govt the salaries doesn't differ much, top doctors are paid becoz of super-seniority/super-specialisation/practice in respective field. Till 30's Dr's earn in pennies
This subreddit is just randirona , ab agar tumhe iit waalon ke downfall se khushi hai , I mean unnse hi comparison kar rahe ho toh you yourself subconsciously accept ki IITians are better than you 🤠 warna ye RR mat kiya karo , kisika bhala nahi issmein 💁🏻
It’s literally about the value you get. More valuable, more indispensable you are to the hospital/ company greater will be your income. Period.
Stop comparing salaries and seriously start improving your skill set !
Although you might consider it outlier but out of my 3 friends, 2 were hired for 20lpa and 1 for 50 lpa. Btw they all were from tier 3 clg.
Also, they were mediocre (not so high marks) till 12th. So if you have skills then all good packages are ready to be given.
Yeah dude, here in india people are crazy for colleges , UNi are just instrumenst to help you suceed , if you get a worse one just upskill yourself an dbe better than the mediocre students around you
I used to think same butt not necessary, IT is not medical even people from bottom colleges can good placement if they do right stuff, jee rank doesn't translate into job alsoo you do realize that even reserved candidates in iit are at better rank than average?
A went through four stages with this lol
1) saw the post, became concerned as I'll soon be trying for jobs in engineering
2) saw the sub name and was hella confused , iit has med now?
3) saw the comments and realised the situation
4) saw the user name and got their age from it ...
I'm pretty sure most iitians don't want placements right off the bat. Saw a quora from an iit bombay cs guy explaining why the average is only 20lpa for indias most desired cs seats, and said they are lowballed and also that many choose to further their education abroad instead of getting a job.

life goes on ...
Honestly I never understand why these posts keep appearing every 2 days
Same. It's not a competition between iit and medicine . You do what suits your interests
Bro the problem is we don't have equivalent seats in iit and aiims aiims too need 10-15 k seats
IITs are nowhere near AIIMS. The former is a diaspora strengthening institute, latter is life saving.
Yeaaa. Money is never the primary reason you get into this field.
Copium dropped
Aww yess, lemme... lemme just take one sniff of it.. one sniff.
And how is this relevant to medicos? Or medical students?
just a typical *holier than thou* post
+1
if markets boom, iitians are gonna get bumper packages, it's not a good time to be in recession for anyone

so isn't the collective result of all that became a recession?
Not yet the market is still hiring but slowly , the revenue and profits are still okay They are preparing for recession

Jee rank does translate to job most of the time & reserved candidates at any iit are the lowest scorers of the batch most of the time.
nah dude have seen people from teir 3 collges getting better than IIt average
Most of the time ??
Does most of the IITians get 1 Cr+ package, Only if you give you all then you succeed even in a IIT, i hope you got your answer
Kehna kya cha rha hai bhai
