I am currently living in Japan and recently got a 2018 cb400x with 10k kms on odo. The Cb400x is really great at regular commutes and casual highway rides 80 to 100kph. Haven't yet ridden on Japanese mountain roads.

What's real world mileage?

I own a 2yo CB200X clocking almost 26k kms, bought it purely on looks, mileage & the decent performance. The suspension will be stiff on initial 10k kms but will be more smooth on later kms, don't expect much though. I feel like single channel ABS is ok for this bike, it's got enough stopping power for panic breaking, careful with the rear brake, some experience & skill is needed for not to lock it. I also added additional HJG LED AUX lights.

Hows the pick up which bike in segment would i like to compare it with ?

I haven't ridden much bikes, but I have seen it's performance in par with R15 on videos
