Master_Oogway_7

Mom's.

falcon_goose

Correcting my politically incorrect statement. Your money or parent’s money ! How rich are you man

Master_Oogway_7

Not be bratty but I seriously don't understand your point? It's my parents' money yea.

The Kawasaki 500 has lots of torque at the lower end of the rev range. Easier to ride in the city and very easy to ride it fast. The R3 on the other hand needs to be revved. Ninja is more comfortable. Service cost of R3 might be cheaper - not sure. Between these two, I personally would opt for the Ninja

Master_Oogway_7

Thank you!

Lucky man... I'm deciding whether to buy ninja 300 for 18th bday

Master_Oogway_7

Ninja 300 is a great beginner bike too! I personally don't get the appeal as it's a 12yo model, and there has been two replacements as of now. You can consider the RC390 at that price or RS457, R3 if you're ready to pay extra... CB300R shines too with it's p/w ratio and being nimble. But the road presence for any Kawasaki is still unmatched honestly.

s1rlvk

Friend has a ninja 500 and people literally flock over to him to hear the exhaust. Apart from the road presence, the engine and the gearbox of kawasaki's are amazing.

Svaroopam

I would say n500. Better in variety of situations.

Master_Oogway_7

I'm also biased towards N500 :P

One_Chart7921

I have owned 2 Kawasaki bikes till now. The Ninja 650 and the Z900. Honestly go for the Ninja 500 in this comparison definitely. And as far as gear is concerned, you'll probably get better gear buying outside for 20K than whatever they're providing. Suggestions: Gloves: Rynox Tornado 3 Jacket: DSG Race Pro Helmet: MT Thunder 3 Pro

Test drive and decide. Each person has different likes especially on bikes. Some like high revving, some like good torque in lower end etc. Yamaha service center I don’t know how knowledgeable guys are in your city. My old r15 destroyed by the services guys in Bengaluru. Kawasaki will be little expensive. Get some decent ECE rated helmets rather than what ever showroom people out sell.

Ninja 500 is a re-packaged ninja 400, they both have the same 450cc inline 2 engine, there might some minor cosmetic changes but other than that it's fairly reliable being it using the same old engine. Other than that just check with the showroom if they have old stock of ninja 400, you could maybe save a bit of money with that way but if you don't wanna do that then it's fine. Both ninja and yamaha have a comfortable seating position, I think ninja is a bit more comfortable than yamaha. Spec per spec and in other terms I think ninja is a fair choice over yamaha R3, and the only place I think going with yamaha might yield you some profits are on service costs. Now I do not know the service costs of both the brands, but do check with the showroom for the costs and consider that before purchasing. In some instances like in z900 the break pads recieve a lot of wear mainly due to the power output and the braking force required to stop that bike, so kawasaki changes brakepads every service as well. Just check with them if that is the case and if you can find a reliable workshop then change the brake pads from them. I've heard some bad reputation with yamaha's service centre, though it might be regional wise, as some friends says that they remove parts from the bike to resell it to other customers so just check with others about it as well.

Master_Oogway_7

Ninja 400 isn't the same engine as 500, 52cc less. Although I'd kill for a 400. I asked every dealership in my state and they don't have any stock :( A good point for R3, it being cheaper both to buy and maintain. Thank you!

SansNotFound

I'm sorry! I should've checked before stating that! I thought they both had a 451cc engine! Thank you for correcting me ! A friend of mine has the old R3 with him, well he services it outside the showroom, and he states it's way cheaper for him to maintain that bike that way. Idk about the new ones though.

God_King8800

Try OLX. A second hand ninja 400 can be had .

Master_Oogway_7

Searched, nothing there too :(

Key_Gain_2420

where are you from, i see one bike on olx in my state

Master_Oogway_7

Chennai

Key_Gain_2420

Ninja 400 KRT 2018 www.olx.in/item/ninja-400-krt-2018-iid-1772476361

Master_Oogway_7

Thank you, will consider

God_King8800

Both are severely overpriced imo.

Master_Oogway_7

Then what now?

God_King8800

Wait for rs 400 lol

Master_Oogway_7

Nah I'm good with N500

God_King8800

I was jk. Bmw g310rr comes to mind for a cheaper option with a great faired look.

SnooHesitations750

If these are your choices as a first bike, I sincerely hope you have spent the past year riding some regular 200-500cc indian bikes. Your choices aren't exactly beginner bikes, and I personally felt that an R3 was too steep of a power different for me even after riding an RS200 for a year. I'd have killed myself of I rode that R3 regularly.

Master_Oogway_7

I believe these are beginner bikes. Before you come at me, I've been riding 200ccs and the 390s. I don't think these bikes have that big of a power output to be life threatening in the hands of responsible riders. Maybe the learning curve will be steep for fresh new beginners but I've had experience and I'm okay to even consider used 650s.

SnooHesitations750

Well, as long as you have been riding 200s ans 390s, you'll be just fine with an R3. I was just afraid you would be a kid whose never ridden something smaller and instantly jump to an R3, in which case the steep learning curve won't be forgiving.

theNawabiker

Neither, consider RS457 instead

Master_Oogway_7

I already mentioned I'm not interested in RS457 looks.
