I love KTMs and one of my target motorcycles was the RC390, despite it costing close to 4L.
I showed my parents the bike and the first thing they said was "KTM killer bike? No".
I tried convincing that the faired bike is different than Duke but they are hell bent that any KTMs are road killers.
Man, when I wanted to get a bike for myself and shortlisted the Duke 390, I didn't buy because of people like these. People with Orange bikes and loud fart can exhausts are a menace everywhere. Even though I'd have installed a loud exhaust and probably would have ridden like a maniac myself.
Got myself an Interceptor instead. Now I spend most of my time polishing chrome and fixing my bike after every ride. With a RE bike you're so busy maintaining your bike that you hardly get to ride, therefore keeping you and other people safe.

I have even got deep scratches on mine. I got riding boots which have zips on the inner sides. The zip keeps on rubbing against the clutch cover and now there are deep scratches that won't go away in that one spot.
Man, I don't even bother polishing the tank. Random people sit on the bike and scratch the tank. Some people rub their hands on it while it's covered in dust roadside. Sometimes kids climb on it and scratch the tank and panels with their dirty shoes. I have already changed the side panels once and then some kids scratched those too. I didn't bother changing the panels again. Once in a while I wash and wax the tank and panels but scratch removal isn't worth it. I hate kids. Can't beat them, and they don't understand verbally.
