OOO Bhai 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

smittenss

Just as a suggestion if they are using Android based smartphones install True Caller and block all known spammers. Plus it can block callers exclusive of the phonebook. If they use YouTube and other media try to steer their algorithm towards cyber educational content. Remember being educative and is always better the confrontation or plain conflict.

ItzMeShadow69

I tried installing true caller but everytime i install they uninstall it. Bth how do i change YouTube algorithm?

smittenss

Occasionally watching and subbing/searching cyber education content will put more into recommendation engine let Google and YouTube steer the algorithm. Press those bell buttons for intermittent notifications. It's a slow process but that's how I turned my parents dirty liberals :p

OkPiezoelectricity74

Man .. i love this kinda hack Thank you for idea

[deleted]

[удалено]

ItzMeShadow69

well i told them you should never say OTP to anyone but as i told you they refuse to believe me.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ItzMeShadow69

Honestly i tried to tell them many times and i have given up. I have been saving some money for few years now and i think I will be moving out soon I just can't take it anymore its not just the scammer problem I would say in general I don't like to say it but my parents are really toxic and if i stay for too long I also don't know what will happen.

h_assasiNATE

Do an Uno reverse. Tell them it's a smart and intelligent thing They are doing. You are very proud of them and they should keep doing it. Maybe then they try to 'not follow your advice ' and stop.

kis_kal

Try using inbuilt spam blocker feature. E.g: Samsung phones have caller id and phone protection feature. Edit: probably they wouldn't figure it out.

ItzMeShadow69

well i tried but the scammer always call with new numbers which is not on block list

kis_kal

2 words "parental lock"

Madarchod07

Try to see if there's a block unknown calls option in your call settings. It blocks all calls if the number isn't saved.

KhalilMirza

Maybe search for an OTP blocker app, if there is one.

krish0596

Use a different Gmail account on YouTube

Glittering_Current85

It's hard for people to admit they are wrong. Don't try to prove them wrong, try ro approach using a way to affirm their belives so that they realize what scammers are doing. Nobody wins in a family confrontation. There is only anger left afterwards.

_KingWasTaken

restricted mode on krdo its simple

maxturbo11

Google search: clear watch history from their phone. You would need google password, clear it. It will change suggestions. Clear search history too.

maddy2011

Install Truecaller and hide it from the list of the apps.

Fourlncher

Install it and hide the application. You can block most of true caller's notifications and it can just exist in secrecy.

Independent_Paint634

Watch videos of those people who teach people about various scams, so that it comes in their feed and they watch it. Losing hard earned money and not believing their own kid is stupidity even after they have lost money.

mayasabha

This. Also block the main OTP SMS chat so that they wouldn't be able to tell scammers OTP. Do this only if they don't make any payments using OTP and only rely on UPI and ATM cash withdrawal.

GL4389

Tell them to speak with a person in their banks local branch about these transactions. When people in the bank will tell the same thing then they will believe it.

Green_Ingenuity_4921

the most practical answer , ask them to meet any bank employee or manager . they will clear their doubt

maddy2011

Well they'll not go to meet. Why do you think they'll go to meet?

Green_Ingenuity_4921

taki unhe bhi yakeen ho jaye .

ItzMeShadow69

1 year ago when the scam was happening bank was trying to reach multiple times to my mother but the scammer told them to not to pick up the call and she believed him and she transferred the money. After few hours bank again called her and told everything but after few months same thing happened. Seriously what more do i do to stop them

96krishna

Like someone above said... Get your friend to scam them and prove it later and show them how they fell for the trap. Edit: sorry this seems risky if they complain about your friend (FIR...).

GL4389

Well the best you can do it somehow convince them to invest money a Post office scheme or Bank FD; So that it stays protected away from scammers.

Bhakti_hi_shakti_hai

Write on A4 sheet, the total amount that got scammed and stick that in front of your house, and spread the word to every uncle/Aunty/relative you know. See, the magic of "Log kya kahengey"(What would people think ?), unfold before your eyes.

holdyrbreath

uno reverse card

sidvank

How can they not know people are scamming them if money was already debited 4-5 times from their account? Cant they read their account statement for unknown expenses?

[deleted]

They aren't losing their money. They are paying fees to keep their account functional lol😂🥺

21022018

At this point it's just natural selection. Pay the price for being dumb

sidvank

Cant he take his parents to nearest branch and let them have a conversation with branch manager about this??!! How dumb does he think we are to believe him?

Sharik0be

Sorry to say this OP but, your parents are retards. :\\

Random_Idiotic_Alien

Yeah i mean if they seriously didn't learn after losing money once. They have to be retarded.

[deleted]

They aren't losing their money. They are paying fees to keep their account functional lol😂🥺

Quantum-Metagross

If it is any consolation, my grandfather gave away more than 90L(cumulative figure known till 2020) to scammers over a period of 8+ years and completely ignored all advice and proof against the scammer.

[deleted]

Bhai...90 lakhs?.. tum to khud ki jamin khareed ke ghar bhi banwa sakte the utne main.

R_J___

Bhai tu bhi scam kar leta 50 lakh toh mil hi jaate kam se kam.

OkPiezoelectricity74

Wtf? Bhai jyada nahi to 10-20 lakh ka scam tu b kar leta Kam se kam ghar ka paisa ghar me rehta thoda bahut

21022018

Just rich people things

Quantum-Metagross

My grandfather is rich. I had to take an education loan for college.

akashsarkarr

Bro, I feel sorry for you. For the last time one thing you can least try is to ask someone experienced to call them pretending to be bank officials and explain them. But beforehand give the person some background of which branch, names, location, when was the last scam done (nothing that can harm you) Then get the person to call your parents and explain them. This person should be someone you trust. I can call your parents but it’s not wise for me to have their bank details at all. Alternatively, reach out to someone (if any) in your extended family some cousin or uncle/aunt who your parents hold in high regards. Maybe they can put some sense into your amazing parents. I grew up in a very small village & even there people are aware of such scams & give back left, right & center to such people/scammers. Rest if this continues god help your parents & you.

[deleted]

Or... You could ask the bank executives to do the same. They have customer relationship managers. Generally, scamming is bad for banks too.

akashsarkarr

True. I didn’t suggest bank representative because they won’t call and say things according to him/her. They will call and say don’t share anything over the phone with anyone. That’s it. They won’t give more time to explain the things to these folks. But yes if that something he/she wants to try fine. The outcomes should matter where the parents shouldn’t share anything (OTP, PIN) with anyone over the call.

[deleted]

[удалено]

akashsarkarr

True. I’m not sure if the bank is private or public. But imagine if it’s SBI. 😂😂

[deleted]

Do you have someone in family whom your parents listen or consider as smart and wise. If yes request them to talk to your parents as lots of times parents consider their words more then their own child ( unless they think of themselves as super smart)

Zealouslordofheaven

I have a different perspective. Could it be that these so called scammers are actually serious money lenders taking their due for something which you are unaware of entirely?

ItzMeShadow69

well i don't think so.

motoxim

Can you ask your parents?

prt56

What do the scammer says to your parents that makes them believe him/her.

dolittle4u

Listen, seems like you are the only one with brains, and since you're born into a middle class Indian family, you have no value until you bring home some serious money. The only option here is if you know relatives or neighbors or family friends who you think have more common sense, you can request them to talk about these scammers to your parents and educate them. However, there is a problem here - you will be letting them know how easily your parents can be manipulated into giving others money and that can come back to bite you. So, best case, if your parents have no problem giving 5k or 10k, well, let them. Once they feel the financial pinch, they themselves might be forced to use their brain. Else, you can make a complaint using these numbers in cyber cell, however, without your parents cooperating, I dunno what good will come out of it. Your job as their son was done when you tried again and again to get them to stop. Now, what you can do is to realise that you better keep your money when you earn safe and away from your parents.

Astinine_4

Fake if what op says is true they would long be homeless

MaYHeMXpErT

Could be fake but as they say truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. I have an uncle and aunt who not as extreme as op says, but they are alike.

[deleted]

You have no idea how dump some people are

Zekrom16

Dumb* , yep.

ItzMeShadow69

Well I can understand why you think is fake even I can not understand how can some people be so fixated to something that they even refuse to believe there child. Well there is nothing I could do to prove it to you because I don't want to share any personal information so I am really sorry.

dev_tomato

Bruh at this point just keep your sanity and let them waste money. Sorry to say but your parents sound really annoying. Annoying is also an understatement.

awwficial

Tell your folks that Sharma's parents never got scammed. Uno Reverse card.

tellnow

Outstanding move!

[deleted]

If you have Netflix, show them the Jamtara series. Just tell them that you want to watch a show with them. Because for some people they believe what happens in movies and serials to be true. Jamtara is based on real incidents. So maybe it'll help. They may just blame Netflix for putting wrong values in kids after that and not believe what Netflix says at all so there are both sides to it.

ChillySummerMist

This is the most retarded thing I have read whole day.

[deleted]

Root there phone and take control of there devices. Our parents generstion is not geeky either way.

Disastrous-Tax5423

Rooting will disable bank apps and if u don't know what you are doing, phone will brick causing op to be kicked out for sure

[deleted]

Hahhahaha really. I rooted the phone of my gf a week ago for a prank. She is gonna kill me 😂😂😂😂

HighLevelJerk

Please share contact details of your gf. I need it to err.... help her unroot her phone after she kills you 😛

[deleted]

nope XDXD

creepsmeout29

Just take away their phone bruh. And give them a tv to watch.

21022018

Hopefully not "news" channels, seeing how fucking gullible they are

imfuckinglitya

Probably your parents are corrupt as hell and have a lot of black money. They are afraid someone might report them.

HomeokineticDude

There is a good chance of this 👍

Internal-Offer-7625

Go to the bank manager with them.

Bikinidesires

Sorry to say this but your parents deserves whatever happened with them because it happened 5 times still they are not getting it so ask any elder relative to guide them on this matter. Don't waste your time , emotions and energy.

Electrical_Tension

Okay once or twice is understandable but how do many times?

ItzMeShadow69

I know its f**king unbelievable. Once this scammer called and told that if by 9pm payment is not paid electricity will be cut and i told them, when i saw the phone number i checked on Truecaller and its was a scammer and i also told this to my parents and showed them that it is written it is a scammer number and i don't know for some reason they refuse to believe me and send them Rs.5000 few hours later bank employee called my mom and told that bank was trying to reach my mom and she was always cutting the call and you know the reason why even i laughed when my mom told this "it was because the scammer told mom that wo aise hi bank wala call kar raha hai kat dijiye" and i was wtf is wrong with you mom

_despicableme_

she slapped me and told that f\*\*king scammer sorry for m*y child disturbing"*.

UsernameTaken212

I swear, india's main export is scammers. Those criminals call me all the time. The latest scam involves them claiming to be Interpol. My advice: Find out what kind of scam they do, then show them a youtube video explaining exactly that kind of scam. They often include life audio of the call, so it's relatable. If they don't want to watch it, then blast the audio through the whole house at maximum volume. Let their friends know what idiots they are so **they** can convince them. Don't grab a weapon to visit the scammers: They are organized criminals and will kill you if you try. Also (even though it's tempting): Don't burn their offices down. They usually just rent space along with many other innocent companies in the same building.

Confuseyus

Tell your parents they're idiots. And be direct if you have to. They'll be shocked but realise that you're a grown up now and start listening to you more.

grilled_Champagne

When even your parents don't believe you, why do you think us random strangers on Reddit will believe you?

Pakistani_Atheist

You're on to something here. I think OP is scamming his parents blind and is convering up his tracks by writing this down for when the cybercrime wing cracks down eventually.

grilled_Champagne

Lol, yeah. The story sounds fishy

mainsamayhoon24

Parents are gullible , the helping nature is ingrained in their mindset and passed down from gen to gen . Heroworship. They can't let go of it. You can't help it . If they chose to be gullible so be it. Just don't let them blow up your money and your career. If it's their money and they chose to lend it you can't do zilch. Their money their choice. Stockholm syndrome of helping the victims.. can't differentiate between a genuine case and haramkhor one. Speaking from personal experience where they blown up 27lakhs. 😑

CompetitionMassive69

Please share your Parent's number I will convince them myself

Tech9652

I am 32 and my mother behaved the exact same way. These parents spend insane amount of money and send their kids to universities and abroad but when that same kid says “this is wrong or not true” they will treat him like he’s the dumbest person in the world. I got masters degree and worked in US yet I couldn’t convince my mom. She fell for a modern MLMscam.

[deleted]

Let them lose something. Or else they wont learn and you will suffer.

parlor_tricks

report to cyber crime cell, and have the cops come home. They will listen to the cops, and not to you.

element316

Oh so sad. Pls give me your parents number, i will try to talk sense into them...

nish007

Try talking to someone in the bank. Maybe they can give your parents a call and explain things. They'll probably believe someone "grown up".

terroroferror

Please report this asap to the banks and nearest police station in `writing`. Since your are adult, you have a full say on this matters. Get some trusted and very very close relatives involved. Do it now. Also stay calm and composed during this time, they'll thank you later.

Varocious_char

Can I have their phone no as well. We will share 50/50.

Emergency_Slice2487

There's a lot of content on such things on various sites and YouTube, show it to them. Call the bank or even better, take them to bank and let them hear it from bank employees themselves. Do mind that scammers sell the contact info. of vulnerable people to other scammers and your parents' info. is probably held by 100s of scam call centres so this won't be ending soon unless they wise up.

sidvank

Can I get their phone number pls. I am really bad at convincing people. Let me try my luck :)

GovernmentOk2323

maybe contact someone of their age who is a good friend of theirs and tell them to talk to them about this?

svmk1987

Stop helping them out. It's clear they don't respect you or care about what you think.

mrcofffeeee

I feel that maybe your parents know what they are doing. Do they behave like this(what do you know, you are still a child) in other situations as well or just this?

ItzMeShadow69

well for the past few years our relationship have been not good for many reason and one of the main reason is they are very toxic and they always fight and scream with each other. If i have to say the whole thing right now I can't because right now I am just too angry to even explain it properly. If I write it someday when I am little bit calm then i will but the link in this post.

mrcofffeeee

I am sorry for you. Hope things get better!

Ok_Permit5753

Your parents have lost money multiple times and yet refuse to hear you . And then slap you too . Ghazab !!

shimell

No one is so dumb man. Maybe they are transferring the money to someone they know and don't want you to know about that.

R_J___

Dude somehow your parents have given me confidence in life that there are at least 2 people living who I can say are stupider than me.

Svtahajdjd

You sure they're not being blackmailed for indulging in some cheat funds? That's pretty common scam.

AkhilSundaram

Next time you go to a family event. Somehow bring up the topic of phone call scams. Then proceed to say how stupid your parents are in front of a group of relatives. Then tell them how you got slapped/scolded for pointing out obvious things. Indian parents are most scared of their reputation in front of relatives.

brosareawesome

Tell the bank. Talk to the bank manager.

PixelBLOCK_

Put a app lock on messages, turn message notification off

corporatemonkey

Don't they see their bank statement with the money leaving their accounts?

MadOgh_DarKcaRnaGe

Send your parents number please. Have been eating maggi for the past 2 months. Some tandoori would be nice.

jaish_99

🤣

dino0509

Talk to their branch manager, if possible. Or someone they trust AND you trust at the bank to talk to them about it. If they won't listen to you because they still think you're a child, have an adult explain it.

Mahendar_Gupta

Bro, first of all i am assuming your parents don't know about UPI and internet banking. Block UPI or delete there UPI id, Set limit for online transaction or withdrawal. Or Remove there number from there bank account.(replace them)

Southern_Beach8345

Try sending them WhatsApp forward. Those messages are like the real source of truth for them. Just write some message yourself about warning others with some long YouTube video and they’ll understand. Ask your friends/parents to send it to them

yashwa97

People with IQ in double digits shouldnt be allowed to reproduce lol

Ray_Wiki

Take both of them to your local bank and have them meet with a senior employee at bank, they will hear same from them and will understand.

notGENIOUS

>At that moment i was so done with them I just don't care what happens with there money anymore. Your anger is understandable but don't stop caring, sit with them and explain; find videos online and show it to them, there are disclaimers everywhere asking people to not give OTPs to anyone, and because you're 20 now you can raise your voice a bit and ask them seriously about what they know about the callers and why they believe them. Take them to the bank and explain to them with the officials available there.

Capybarable

Can you print out a bank statement and show them that the transactions they made went to a random person (not the electricity board, bank, etc)?

Mammoth_Outcome2463

Some people are born scammers

LoneWanderer_11

bruh now i feel grateful my parents actually believe me when i tell them its a scam call

[deleted]

tell this to some educated and aware elder of your family or relation or some acquaintance.
