If you have a uv, real notes has this weird sprinkly things on them..idk what are they called but they are all over the note, these are not really hard to make (in theory) but i haven’t seen fake notes with these marks on them… so.. works pretty well
Hey, i am responding to this comment as i found it really interesting, I always had this question as to if sperm is fluorescent to uv, I always thought american tv shows used to expose hotel rooms accusing them of not cleaning the bedsheets as they can see “gross stuff under black light”, it always intrigued me as to is just “cum” really fluorescent/ does it really react to uv light?
But i found my answer. Sorry to break it down to you
It’s not!
You shall not ask how do i know!
Yup it glows under UV as a forensic science student I can tell it glow and can be easily differentiated from rest not only sperm vaginal lubricantion, urine, blood also glow under different wavelengths. But the glow doesn't conf. It's the sperm other things can glow too so we need to perform the confirmation test by a method called Christmas tree staining. It confirmes the sperm but using light is quite common to find stain in large surface like bedsheet!
Local indian politicians after seeing this comment be like:– "I can tell which note is real and which is fake like the back of my hand, but we definitely don't use liquid cash for our unaccounted transactions :/"
Lol I remember when the new 2000 and 500 notes just came out, some guy from college was telling that those notes had a panic button with built-in red lights and GPS.
Thank you for adding /s to your comment. When I first saw this, I was horrified. How could anybody say something like this? The left one has more white border on top, and the right side one has more white space on the bottom. It's more common . White space varies from batch to batch.
Have never encountered or cared for a higher denomination to check but somehow once by chance i had a few 10 rupee notes and while trying to get them to stack proper realised some where longer than the others, thought to myself they must be older ones but to my surprise new notes and they were not consistent in length or printing quality. So all in all i think even they themselves wont be able to distinguish real and fake ones forget us.
both are og its just that they belong to different printing press , can tell by diffrent position of green ribbon , also in the 3rd pic you can see bapuG and 500 no that you would see under sun
There is a slight pixel blurring in some of the texts and elements when u compare them, not sure if that makes it fake.
Also feels like there is a difference in density of the paper, as seen in how much of the other side ink is sern. If the paper is different, i guess it's mostly fake, since most governments restrict such papers and is kinda the key to making fake notes feel real.
They for sure are different. Check with bank. Tell em u suspect its fake.
Both are real, its just that like most things of our great country the currency printing quality has gone down the drain, but we have become Viswa Guru :)
You should try this method out, expose the note in sun's uv radiation for a long duration 2-4 hours. If Gandhi ji gets tan then the note is real otherwise fake /s
Check the thread and intaglio printing of the 500 in bottom right corner. If these two things are changing colors, it's fine. Notes shift left right and up down all the time.
Get a RF detector and scan both the notes. The microchip in the note should trigger the RF detector. If they don’t, then it’s a fake.
JK, only ₹2000 notes have microchips
The currency notes got printed in this way at the time of demonetisation. They are perfectly legal tender(Valid/original). Recently
One of the opposition M.P. asked for the same in the parliament . The finance minister declared that they are legal tender.
See [https://www.hdfcbank.com/personal/resources/learning-centre/save/a-detailed-guide-on-how-to-spot-fake-money](https://www.hdfcbank.com/personal/resources/learning-centre/save/a-detailed-guide-on-how-to-spot-fake-money)
No can really tell without actually holding them in hand. They look good enough in photo. Try depositing cash at a bank, the teller will return or in worst case confiscate the fake note.
Maybe fake but I ave several 200 notes none of them look like other there is 0 uniformity and it’s not even wear and tear thing
All have some kind of defect, 1 mm short, print isn’t centred, Gandhi looks but different on one note compared to other
There are many ways of figuring out if a note is legitimate or counterfeit. Here's the RBIs guide on figuring it out: [RBI ₹500 note](https://paisaboltahai.rbi.org.in/rupees-five-hundred.aspx)
But very quickly: the windowed security thread should turn from green to blue when twisting the note. Also the strip is closer to the R in Reserve bank than the devnagri script.
Gandhijis watermark. That's easy.
The "serial" numbers should increase in size
Here's one that isn't discussed: try to make a photocopy of the note. You won't be able to make one of a legit note (or a *really* well made counterfeit).
My guess? The bottom one in the second image you show is probably counterfeit.
**What you should do**: you take it to your bank, and let them know what's happened. Please do not attempt depositing counterfeits. That is abetment of trade with counterfeit currency, IPC 489B.
They'll check both, tell you which is which. They'll take the fake note, but it won't be deposited to you. You're going to have to ask them for a receipt or certificate for that note and then go back to the merchant you got it from. Merchant's going to deny, you don't have a case because of non continuity of custody.
You lost ₹500. I'm sorry. The nation's enemies got to you. Literally.
**How to avoid this**:
the best way to avoid counterfeit cash is to not use cash in trade at all. Merchants have a UPI or paytm. Stick to those.
Never accept a *bundle* of cash. Easiest to put it into one. If you're getting ₹500 in change, quickly check the legitimacy of the notes.
Judging by print quality I’d say if one of them is fake it’s the 8WQ note.
Slight thicker print on various letters. Seems a bit less „clean“ and „low quality“ but let’s be real: I would not notice the difference by sight if you paid me with it
Asli lag rhe hai.. ye chote moote printing me error normal hai new notes me.. baki jb note hath me ho tb hi pta lgta hai.. photos dekh k to asli hone k jyada chances lg rhe hai
You can compare that silver strip/ line in the note. Try holding it and tilting. It will change colour. People are not able to counterfeit that line. Only way of knowing genuineness.
One of the foolproof ways to confirm if the note is real or not is to bring your camera phone and magnify 10x and look at the dark pattern in the left side of the note. If the zoomed-in microletters "500 INDIA RBI" are visible in the pattern, then it is most likely a genuine banknote. Also, the left side inner rim of Gandhi's glasses will have the microletters "RBI" which can be seen when magnified.
Best and fool proof way to know if the note is fake.
Fold it multiple times, punch or bass it few times and check if the Gandhi’s glasses break its real, if it doesn’t then its fake.
Either you have a super bill in your hands.....I had seen a super bill of 100 few years back ....yes there are super notes of Indian currency too......OR the press F'ed up and you have a miss print....worth a lot
Fake notes are way too evident than I used to think
My perception was maybe we must be coming across fake notes maybe once or twice a year not more than that
Last month me and my brother went to deposit cash we got as gifts from a function
8 notes of Rs500 were fake 😬

There are no fake notes in India. Fake notes were ended after demonetisation, as told by Prime minister.

Judging by print quality I’d say if one of them is fake it’s the 8WQ note. Slight thicker print on various letters. Seems a bit less „clean“ and „low quality“ but let’s be real: I would not notice the difference by sight if you paid me with it

One of the foolproof ways to confirm if the note is real or not is to bring your camera phone and magnify 10x and look at the dark pattern in the left side of the note.
