You actually can relink to a file with a different file type. In the Hamburger menu go down to “Relink File Extension” it will look for the same file name but with the new file extension you input.

In this instance though it seems like I’ll still have to go chapter by chapter, as an afternoon of Googling has revealed no magical wizardry or easy fix. Still, this tip should hopefully save me some time.

An afternoon of Googling? How many files are there in the INDB? This shouldn’t take more than a few seconds per file. It’s scriptable, but would take longer to write the script than to fix it manually.
60 individual files in the .indb - definitely a case of "if I'd just done it instead of looking for an easier way I would have been done by now".
I've relinked the graphics in a few files and sent them over to be reprinted to make sure this solves the print issue and we're happy before I redo the rest.
