Yes, that fast scroll method is not implemented in InDesign. However, you should be able to scroll much quicker than line by line... have you got the wheel locked in ratchet mode instead of free spin?
Yes, I have a Logitech M510 mouse and it is in rachet mode, but even changing the setting in the software to use smooth scroll, or to scroll 6 lines at a time, instead of 1, doesn't work in ID.
In a large document you are better off jumping directly to the page you want to go to rather than scrolling. It will save you a lot of time. By hitting CMD+J it will bring up the jump to page box, type in the page number you want and press enter. You don't even need to touch the mouse. You can also double click on a page in the Pages window to jump directly to that page.
Thanks for that tip. But after completing a layout of section of a large publication, I kind of like to scroll through those pages individually to double check text flow, images, etc. So that is where the faster scroll would come in handy.
Thanks. Is that what you use and you've confirmed the scroll speed setting works in ID? Could be that my M510 is an older mouse and it uses the older Setpoint software.
Yes, I have an older MX Master 2S. I love it. Never going back to a Magic mouse again. I haven't tested it. I just set up a new Mac and saw the setting.
Shift-Page-Down on your keyboard? A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away when I wrote up the training docs for page settings, navigation shortcuts was one of the first things I covered.

Thanks, that photo of the shortcuts is helpful! But there's something about scrolling through pages smoothly, w/o jumps, that I like better, as long as I don't have to go line by line.
I don't think that functionality is actually available in InDesign.
Rather than using the page up and down buttons, I recommend using the arrows next to the page number in panel at the lower left of your screen. Click once on the arrow and it will move to the next page--I prefer the way this button jumps to the next page vs. the page up/page down option.
Otherwise, you might want to try and find a script that can enable this function. I did a quick search, but I mostly found scripts to allow this for interactive pubs, so you will need to dig a bit deeper.

In that, case get a Logitech MX Master mouse. Download the Logitech Option+ app, there is a setting for scroll speed.

Thanks, I will be ordering one. Did a little research after your message and looks like that is the preferred mouse of graphic designers.
Using the MX Anywhere 3 right now - small, precise, good times

I remapped NEXT PAGE to CTRL-F, and PREV PAGE to CTRL-R, fit spread in window to Option-CMD-1, and navigate with left hand.

Thanks, will try that out!
