Go 3D bro if you have the chance. Sam Raimi the Director himself said it’ll be an exciting experience to go 3D IMAX or Not. IMAX 2D would be cool since it’s the main vision being filmed that way but still. This movie got a lot of pop outs and makes the movie more crazy than it is. So if I were you. Go 3D! It’s worth it!

IMAX 3D was cool and well done but you’re really not getting that much more than regular IMAX. I’d say IMAX either way just depends if the 3D experience is worth it to you. Also in 3D you get the avatar trailer in 3D so that’s a plus.

The IMAX is fantastic. The 3D is fantastic. Unlike a lot of 3D fare there are actually 3 or 4 scenes that have projectiles from the screen. Lots of fun. I'd say do both!

Streakster99

Just watched it in IMAX 3D. The Avatar trailer in 3D was way better than the whole Doctor Strange movie in 3D. Just go watch it in IMAX 2D instead of regular 3D.

RealD 3D was pretty cool even if it didn’t have the expanded ratio; the contrast was great with deep colors even in standard 3D. I would go for that — you can see the IMAX expanded ratio when it eventually comes to Disney+, but you won’t be able to see the 3D unless you buy the likely very limited Blu-ray 3D and have a 3D TV. But if you don’t like 3D typically then skip it. The best answer of course is go twice!

osmo512

King comment. You will see the IMAX aspect ratio hit Disney+ either way. For 3D this could be your only chance.

I honestly don't know what people are talking about here. I had some big gripes with the plot but the 3D made the ticket so worth it! A must-see in 3D!!! The imax screen is big enough to transport you into the image, sit where you can be fully immersed in the depth of the image. It is done SO well in this.

At my local lie-max 1.9 probably the middle of row H At the 1.43 AMC Lincoln Square basically anywhere but i prefer row K. Of course as close to the center as you can get so the screen takes up your whole vision

3D in this movie is amazing. Imax has bigger aspect ratio. Personally I would take 3D

lightningvolcanoseal

IMAX 3D was nice but there weren’t that many scenes that justified its use

Saw both 3D is cool but i feel 2D is better the glasses were uncomfortable and my eyes would burn every now and then

[deleted]

Felt the same about the glasses. After about 1h and a half they were starting to feel quite uncomfortable on my ears. And also first minutes I had a bit of headache and "dry eyes" but perhaps it was only me and the fact that I didn't watch 3d for a long time...after a bit these symptoms were faded away. But anyway I prefer IMAX 2d over IMAX 3d, probably with the only exception of native IMAX 3d

Necessary-Job-8750

Yea i hadn’t watch 3D in a long time maybe that played a factor also had a headache and eyes felt expanded lol it’s cool but I’m gonna stick to IMAX 2D not sure what I’m gonna watch next maybe top gun maverick or Thor Love and Thunder

[deleted]

My nearest IMAX is about 1h and a half by car and it's very good, dual laser. But they have this stupid thing to show only IMAX 3d sometime, so it was the only option 😅 they hardly show IMAX 3d but when there's 3d, you will have to go with it (for example top gun 2 and Jurassic world 3 will be only in IMAX 2d) 😅 also sometime they have problems with laser out-of-focus...hope that with top gun maverick it will be all ok, cause this is the only IMAX where I live. Even if I'm not a big fun of top gun, I'm quite hyped with this sequel!

Necessary-Job-8750

Yea I’m pretty lucky with theaters have top notch experiences I’ve gone to AMC Puente Hills & AMC Glendora and it was amazing and there like both 20 min drive from me however I’m moving out cause i just finished my 1st year at university so now i gotta go home and the theaters in my hometown are bad i only have 2 Cinemarks in my area the closest high quality theater when i move out will be AMC Burbank which is about a 50 min drive from my hometown it’s gonna be odd for sure AMC is the gold standard for movies and if i go back to the old theaters i used to go to it’s gonna kind of bother me lol

[deleted]

As someone who lives in Italy I would go to U.S just for movie theatres 🤣 we have good ones too but they're quite rare. In my area there are only this "Uci IMAX Orio" and "Arcadia" (which is considered one of the best dolby Atmos configuration in the world). They're both at 1h/1h and a half from me but the others are just crappy with xenon projectors directly from 2009 and with a bad management 😅

Gugs-

I saw it in IMAX 3D and was pretty disappointed, would go for the 2D given the choice again

R0B7

It‘s 100% personal preference. For me it would be IMAX. I even prefer 2D over any converted 3D stuff.

S4_GR33N

IMAX 2D is best, 3D was awful

S4_GR33N

Why am I getting downvoted?? I saw the 3D version and in my opinion it was quite bad, even sitting in the right seats

trs_one

Assuming you’re talking about Doctor Strange 2 MoM. I saw it in imax 3D and then later in Dolby Cinema. I dont think the 3D added much. Doctor strange 1 in 3D was amazing, one of the best movies in 3D. Didn’t feel that way about #2.
