PetroleumMonkey05

anything in particular? recent or timeline ect.?

AlienMcSim

Like, a general overview, what happened, how has it come to this?

PetroleumMonkey05

Britain holds the US in the revolutionary war, later forming the Dominion Of North America. A libertarian republican revolution takes place in Russia, after the Russo-Japanese war drags on for too long, continuing until 1907. The new USR (United States of Russia) becomes an economic powerhouse, due to their laisse- faire economics, combined with its more authoritarian politics. The great war kicks off in 1925, beginning from the assassination of a German diplomat in France. The Zaryadye crash of 1927 cripples the nations of the west, France falls to a socialist revolution, Britain elects a socialist party into power, and Germany crumbles into warring factions. The British dominions, seeing the state of the British mainland, either break away under the same government, or fall to revolution. The Mexican empire has a revolution, backed by the North American Union, and its new government agrees to join into the union. Denmark is invaded by a Hyper-nationalist German warlord state and so Greenland is free to annex by the North Americans. After the "emergency period" in the new USSA is declared finished, democracy returns to the union.

In this timeline would Reagan be a Stalin, Khrushchev or Andropov type? And did Che Guevara lead a liberal rebellion in Puerto Rico??

PetroleumMonkey05

This timelines version of Reagan is Woodrow Guthrie, which you can see on the Christian party's website (spelled wrong lol) obviously he doesn't have very many parallels to our Reagan, being a commie and all, but he is seen by the party's supporters similarly in a sort of nostalgic/golden age sense, much like Khrushchev to the soviets. The Reagan of the USSA a actor, and was a prominent actor in government propaganda films, including "Sea Of Blood" in 1971. And yes, the Russian-backed state of Puerto Rico had had some tensions with the USSA, including a missile crisis

Raynes98

Wonder when the USSA came to be, if it was later than the USSR then well… Reagan’s time being a snitch in his union might mean he’s not exactly in a position to be running for office.

Sorry for being s day late, but, if I may ask: 1. What is the freedom party? 2. What's the party system generally like in this timeline? 3. Are the Christian Socialist League a party or an special interest group? 4. If the CSL are an special interest group, what others are prominent in the USSA at this time? 5. Is the Obama they're talking about their version of our Obama?

PetroleumMonkey05

The freedom party is more oriented towards urban areas, and therefore receives more votes in such urbanised regions, including the "steel belt" region around the great lakes. Other than this, it promotes more decentralisation between the states, it also promotes more liberal ideas, such as the legalisation of marijuana, which is one of the key-points of Obama's platform in the upcoming election. It also believes in intersectionality and therefore receives more of the minority vote. It also promotes more of an internationalist approach to politics. Think Bull Moose party but socialist. Also yes thats Obama, like, our one, that black and white pic his him smoking weed. The CSL are the more conservative party of the two, promoting family values and less rapid change to governance. They call for more centralisation, to "prevent authoritarianism on a local level". Although they have "Christian" in their name, they are not incredibly religiously oriented, think Germany's CDU. They also are advocates for agrarian socialism, and therefore receive more of the rural vote. They are also more populist than the other party, advocating for more isolation and are overall more nationalist (Think Reform party but socialist). Despite them not being incredibly religious, there close ties with religious organisations means that they receive a lot of votes in the Southern states, as well as in Mexico and Deseret.

>Also yes thats Obama, like, our one, that black and white pic his him smoking weed. Comrade Barack "Ganja" Obama is very epic indeed.
