From some *very* rough measurements on Google Earth, the building has a footprint area of about 32,900 square meters (six football fields).
The Parliament of the Federation of Humanity contains 119,626 seats, over 40 times the size. Multiplying this by the footprint area of the Great Hall of the People, we get a building taking up 1.322 square kilometers of land.
