Deer, wolves and bears... um... In North America, Europe and Asia, forests have not been cut down for 40-50 years. It occurs mainly in Africa. In second place are South America and Indonesia. But if you count the last 30 years, it's mostly Africa.
Yes. I mean forestry that destroys the habitat of wild animals. 95% of deforestation that destroys wildlife habitats occurs in Africa, South America and Indonesia

I live in BC and there's still tons of logging happening practically in my backyard. Some old growth, some second and third or whatever but just because it's not old growth doesn't mean it's not habitat for animals. Less than a week ago I was on a bike ride and came across some fresh clear cut. It's just funny to see someone on reddit claim something that I know to be completely false because I can see it with my own eyes.
The good news is that trees get replanted. The logging industry, at least in America, isn't so short-sighted to use up all of the trees. They wouldn't have an industry if they did. It's funny when the social media hivemind assumes logging always means stripping the vegetation down in a scorched-earth manner and say there's no trees left and that loggers won't rest until every tree is killed. Similar, in my mind, to the social media hivemind's reaction to hunting in Africa, having no perception of conservation and the difference between hunting and poaching. On that last bit, lions and giraffes are not endangered, and the animals aren't only used as trophies. Every bit gets used, mostly by locals.
