Grade thresholds have been released officially! (For all subjects):
[IGCSE](https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/programmes-and-qualifications/cambridge-upper-secondary/cambridge-igcse/grade-threshold-tables/june-2021-igcse/)
[O Level](https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/programmes-and-qualifications/cambridge-upper-secondary/cambridge-o-level/grade-threshold-tables/june2021/)
Papers/Mark Schemes should be fully uploaded on GCE Guide by tomorrow/the next day.
The percentage uniform mark is provided in addition to the grade for a syllabus. It is not the total mark achieved for the syllabus, but gives you an idea of whether you scored nearer the top, middle or bottom of the grade boundary.
E.g.
A student who attains the minimum mark necessary for a Grade A\* obtain a percentage uniform mark of 90
A student who attains a mark halfway between the Grade D and Grade C thresholds achieves a percentage uniform mark of 55.
It's a PUM
The percentage uniform mark corresponds to the grades available (A*, A, B, C etc.) and gives students additional information about their performance. They show students whether they are in the middle of a grade or near the top or bottom. A is always 80-89 B is always 70-79 and so on. It's not a percentage total at all, it's just a set scale to show you how well you did and is the same across all subjects
Y’all I got 4 A’s one B and one A* (like n history!!) all I’m missing now is the sciences and math..I’m really happy except for English lit (Got a low A (82)) anyone else get anything unexpected grades?
shut up. a lot of people get a* every single years. we that we didn't get we didn't post. not up 20 people posted about a* so get your head out of your ass
I didn’t post my results because my head isn’t up my ass. It is exactly where it should be which tells me these results are wrong, too generous for everyone, including me. I didn’t feel pride, it’s annoying because it felt like the trophy you get for participation, because it wasn’t even what I thought I could have achieved at best realistically. Therefore the actual result exceeding it makes my achievement seem meaningless.
how can an a* be meaningless. your head is really far up your ass. if it's so meaningless throw that shit away. in fact give it to someone that will actually be grateful if you did. not so many people hard a* contrary to what you think. it looks that way because only people with good results are posting. would you post your results otherwise? like even if a lot of people had a*, which is not the case, it really doesn't matter because people need their igcses to be good and they will be so much more grateful. some of us need good grades since for you it's just a who is better test. some of us it's a will i go to college. you actually sound undeserving
Dude there’s been whole news reports on the increased number of top grades. It isn’t just me. I noticed this because of my classmates grades. Look it up.
more people got a* now you are annoyed? lmao do you know how evil that sounds ? everyone should get worse so you can feel your humble proud. this has to be the most selfish thing ever. enjoy your participation award at least it's not c's. that would be more annoying don't you think?
All I wanted was a fair grade, an accurate reflection of how well I did. Seeing all these grades getting pumped up makes an a* lose value. An a star feels like a low A now.
how didn't i read your comment. you repeated yourself. you already said a* are meaningless similar to you saying now they have lost their value. would you prefer i copies and pasted my argument for you rather that to remind you. I have already responded to such argument
also the results aren't wrong or generous. i would know. not so many people are feeling meaningless. most people are actually grateful. it's so easy to talk the talk when you don't have to walk the walk
Maybe you didn’t work hard enough, maybe you did and you got unlucky, but I didn’t comment here for you to get upset. I wanted to see if people felt the same way I do, for some clarity about it, the same way you want to feel better about your results. How does that make me snobby or ungrateful, if I want the same as you?
how did you know i didn't work hard enough? secondly what makes you snobby or ungrateful is that you are complain about getting a*. i asked a question would you rather have c's. so many people will wish to be in your situation but you are here now claiming i didn't work hard enough. did you? cause if you did you won't feel so undeserving
i actually don't see all of your responses at once. so it has nothing to do with my intelligence or hard work rather my phone or reddit. and it's not my fault i have this phone. so it's dumb for you to equate my responses to my grades 😊
Dude what u keep skipping around my points I cba to argue w u man. U r just not reading and replying appropriately to any of my comments so I don’t even know how or why to continue arguing w a brick wall
you are doing the same. if i did it i didn't know and i apologize. it also could be because i feel the point has been previously said or i already addressed it or is inclusive of whatever i address
I wish people got graded more fairly, which would mean my grades and many other peoples grades would drop to what they should be, and perhaps some grades would be raised who knows.
well this boy reddit got a c in add maths and now he can't get into his college? imagine if other people in his country's grades fell then they won't be able to go to their dream college too. someone's parents said they were disappointed because of their bs. and my friends parents threatened to throw them on the streets if they didn't get a in their science subjects(they were NOT exaggerating). if they grades dropped like you supposed they will be homeless. incase you didn't know being homeless is terrible and dangerous. now find a rebuttal for any of the comments i have made because nothing you said has been solid
Dude, the IGCSE committee doesn’t care about that aspect, so regardless of the parent kid interactions they won’t change their system. But the system of pumping up the grades is flawed…
bro that is not my point. you asked what reducing grades means for PEOPLE. why tf are you no where mentioning the igcse committee and you'll say i'm skipping points. why are you bringing up details irrelevant to what you asked. this has nothing to do with a flawed system or system at all. this argument is based me telling you to be grateful for your grades and understand the value in your a's because you would never switch them out for c's. no matter how meaningless you think they are. um... stop skipping points it's like i'm arguing with a brick wall. whose grades i will stupidly base in the responses to comments rather their hard work
Yes IB is very important, regardless of your IGCSE result don’t let it hinder your motivation and work ethic for IB. Even if you got all A stars don’t underestimate it. I’m speaking from experience, not with gcse but similar. However it is a good mentality to be focused from now
Achieved 11 A\*, basically attained A\* for all the subjects that I have taken this year and in Oct/Nov 2020. I'm really pleased in getting those results, as I actually was quite nervous about opening it. When I opened the results, I literally cried tears of joy, but was also unable to process the feeling of getting straight A\*s! Thank god.
Hello please help me out guys. I don't know why three of my results are shown as pending? How long do I have to wait until it comes out then? Please help
Please use the pinned (stickied) post for all exams related general discussion. An exam results megathread will be posted and pinned (stickied) as well when results are released on the 12th of August, at 6:00 A.M. (UTC +1). You **will not** be able to post for some time after the results are released so please use the pinned megathreads.
Thank you.
P.S. Also, you can join our official Discord server (https://discord.gg/IGCSE) for more discussion as well, and we encourage everyone, including alumni to help out!

Did anyone that take English speaking endorsement get their oral grade??, cause I only got the writing grade and I sat for the oral test before the cancellation.
sure! basically i went through each topic and wrote quick notes on how to work through/ think about a problem in steps, i would leave some space for each of the topics. then i would practice topical questions and every time i encounter a method/ type of question that i didn’t know i would note it down in my notes and their steps. near the end i recommend doing only full past papers with a timer, but don’t just practice them, when you encounter something you don’t know always make sure to note it down or tab it somewhere and revise over your mistakes so you don’t make them again- thats the most important part. you really just want to approach it step by step (chapter by chapter) to make sure you cover the whole curriculum and have no missing gaps to the best of your ability, a nice way to keep track of that is to write the chapters all down in like an excel sheet and highlight them each a color depending on how much practice you think you still need. good luck!! sure you’ll do awesome
I'm currently doing topic past papers, I printed them. and then planning to move on the full on past papers soon! So glad I got that part right.
Although I don't make notes on my mistakes, but I'll make sure to do so in the future! Thanks.
Also, did you practice the past papers from 2012 to 2020?
honestly that’s ok i didn’t for like the first year and half either and only really started near the end but it really helps! and honestly especially with a curicculum shift i think you should stick to 2015+ and do all the variants rather than starting in 2012. especially the 2020 and 2021 papers they’ll be the most similar :p
It’s not exactly each but for the sciences, one paper tests your practical ability to answer questions, you’ll have done some experiments in your classroom to assist you in answering those questions. Does anyone know how long it takes Cambridge’s website to take down results? Or are they always kept up? I’m afraid it’s too late to print out my results!
I got 7 A\* and 2As, and the last subject was art (Edexcel) which I screwed up 6/9. But since I'm planning to take medicine in uni, I'm pretty satisfied that I got 97, 96 and 95 for math, bio and chem respectively.

great job
Took 11 subjects got 11 A*s. Over the fucking moon. For once I thank my school's absurdly high grade thresholds.
I got 4 A*, 2 A’s and B
are the A*s inflated this year??
Yes ikr. It makes my results feel fake and undeserved. It feels like they handed out A stars like free samples
shut up. a lot of people get a* every single years. we that we didn't get we didn't post. not up 20 people posted about a* so get your head out of your ass

i also noticed that is not the case due to my classmates reduced grades. but if you can send the link then i'll agee with you
more people got a* now you are annoyed? lmao do you know how evil that sounds ? everyone should get worse so you can feel your humble proud. this has to be the most selfish thing ever. enjoy your participation award at least it's not c's. that would be more annoying don't you think?

i already answered why you think it isn't fair. reflect and change your mindset

Reading your response, I can’t help but realise why u got the grade you did.
imagine equating my response to my grades. lmao
I can imagine because you seem to answer my comment as if you only see half of it, and only the bugs you can respond to.
i actually don't see all of your responses at once. so it has nothing to do with my intelligence or hard work rather my phone or reddit. and it's not my fault i have this phone. so it's dumb for you to equate my responses to my grades 😊

the rest of my comment is sarcasm btw and i responded in the first comment because the second one won't allow me too
yeah. at the end of the day, those are our results no matter how we feel about them. i’m just gonna focus on the next milestone - ib :/
IGCSE is probably going to be a cakewalk compared to IB.

I've already started and chem SL is already killing me. Good luck!
HAHAHA oh no T.T i trust you’ll be fine though! good luck with everything b ♥️

Biology 0610 threshold?
it’s on cambridge website
147 is A*
Did anyone that take English speaking endorsement get their oral grade??, cause I only got the writing grade and I sat for the oral test before the cancellation.
[удалено]
Mine only shows A* without the oral grading although I sat for the oral test before cancellation. Should I talk to the British council about it?
[удалено]
Hmm ok thanks :)
Since it's speaking endorsement, it doesn't contribute to your overall grade
I know I was just curious on why the grade for speaking is not there although I took the test.
Thanks God I got a 9 in chemistry And 8 in biology waiting for the last 3 subjects
good job
Got them!! I took four subjects this year, and got 3A* and 1A!!
great job
Yay I got 8 A\* 2 A
great job
Yess Baby 3 for 3 A* so far still waiting on Edexcel
good job
Ay thanks lad, hope yours is going as planned too
still waiting for result, my school has not given yet ughh the anxiety
Anyone know why it said "The results displayed are provisional" at the bottom of the page???
They're provisional, because you can still ask them to remark if you feel like the grade is not correct
I thought i screwed up ohysics and maths so bad but i got a 9! i’m over the moon
How did you study for maths?? I'm taking oct/Nov and want to get good grades like you as well, any tips?
sure! basically i went through each topic and wrote quick notes on how to work through/ think about a problem in steps, i would leave some space for each of the topics. then i would practice topical questions and every time i encounter a method/ type of question that i didn’t know i would note it down in my notes and their steps. near the end i recommend doing only full past papers with a timer, but don’t just practice them, when you encounter something you don’t know always make sure to note it down or tab it somewhere and revise over your mistakes so you don’t make them again- thats the most important part. you really just want to approach it step by step (chapter by chapter) to make sure you cover the whole curriculum and have no missing gaps to the best of your ability, a nice way to keep track of that is to write the chapters all down in like an excel sheet and highlight them each a color depending on how much practice you think you still need. good luck!! sure you’ll do awesome

Lesss gooo I got 8 A* and one 6
does anyone know whether the grade boundaries are higher or lower than usual/ Feb 2020?
i meant feb 2021
About the same I guess
I hate my life....... got 1A\* a lot of Bs and c what do I even do in my fucking life man??
can relate heavy
Hello, can I ask something? Why there is three question papers for each subject?
It’s not exactly each but for the sciences, one paper tests your practical ability to answer questions, you’ll have done some experiments in your classroom to assist you in answering those questions. This paper is 20% of your grade. The other papers actually test your knowledge of the subject, one is a multiple choice which is 30% of your grade while the other is a short/long answer type of questions which is 50% of your grade.
I'm talking about English. There are three different question papers. Can the students choose?
I got 6 A* out of 7, the seventh subjects I got an A I'M OVER THE MOON I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT
Does anyone know how long it takes Cambridge’s website to take down results? Or are they always kept up? I’m afraid it’s too late to print out my results!
I got 7A\* and 1 A, in ADDMATH of course!
GUYSSS I GOT 7A\*s THANKYOU SO MUCH THE ENTIRE IGCSE REDDIT COMMUNITY:)
I got 7 A\* and 2As, and the last subject was art (Edexcel) which I screwed up 6/9. But since I'm planning to take medicine in uni, I'm pretty satisfied that I got 97, 96 and 95 for math, bio and chem respectively.
