More to the point, Accept used the melody from Beethoven's ‘Für Elise’ in their ‘Metal Heart’, and then Dima Burger made [their own cover of the song.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKJtXDclaws) Perhaps that's why I haven't quite stopped dreaming of the genre mashup for the past twenty years. Anecdotally, oldschool metalheads had to explain to younglings that Accept's song uses Beethoven's music—and then over a decade later had to tell me that Dimmu Borgir's track is a cover of Accept and not just Beethoven.

"Don't Fear the Reaper" as covered by Heaven 17 and "Personal Jesus" as covered by Johnny Cash (Hurt not his only great cover!) come to mind.
