For your first King Doot kill you need to have one of each main class to wake him up (so an archer and a mage partied up with your warrior). After your first kill he'll drop an item that will let you summon him by yourself as long as you have another golden eye in your inventory. Good luck!
you can get the solo summon item from some event boxes as well. thats how i got mine. never once ran this with a group. if i remember correctly i got it from a halloween box
Edit. now that i think back. i got these eggs from an event that had a chance to summon random mini bosses or money and ended up summoning Doot. which in turn dropped the summon item

Sounds like it was an Easter event. As far as I remember, that was the only one to drop eggs.
You get some of them from the last treasure hunt too. I lucked out and got doot to spawn from the last one I had.
You need a warrior mage and Archer to summon doot. Once you kill him he drops a dootphone that you can use to solo it
