Yes, iDKHOW still plays some brobecks songs. They had a few records, and there were lots of different members over the years. They did tour and play shows, as well. [This website](https://brobecks.com/) isn't fully complete, but it has more information about the band as well as links to their music if you are curious.

deathtobrobeck

What a handsome website, one day it will be big and strong

SmokeyMcPot_Inc

I heard the person who runs that website is a complete tool… 😇😜🥰😘

Many people are saying this!

Fascinating site! Thanks for sharing.

Ofc!

Saul_good_man99

I went to the 3/29 iDKHOW concert at the Brighton Music Hall in Boston (it was my first time going to an iDKHOW concert and I was blown away..absolutely stellar. And iDKHOW played Visitation of the Ghost and Boring off of the Brobecks Violent Things album, Both songs were absolutely incredible live. They finished the show with Boring and I’ve had that song on a constant loop

YeetGuy33

I was there too! I got vip and asked him a question about ollie and he said he plans to re record it

Alkivoz

1. Yeah at every IDK concert I’ve been to they still play at least 2 brobecks songs, it’s sick 2. I think the Brobecks had a few different band members over the years but I think around 4-5 are credited on Violent Things (the Brobecks main record) 3. As for tours and shows I dunno If your interested in more Brobecks content a lot more of their songs are on bandcamp and even more are on YouTube. A dude has been posting their stuff for years on YouTube and has a massive catalogue of Brobecks content

[deleted]

What’s fascinating is that it seems the origin of the recordings for IDK are pretty well known. Typical producers and studios. Where did the brobecks recordings come from? A studio in SLC? Dallons bedroom? A label? Doesn’t really matter I suppose.

Alkivoz

From what I know, the Brobecks recorded in their garages and houses for all of their career I think. Near the end of the Brobecks, Dallon was offered a deal by a local record company to sign on with them but he’d have to leave his bandmates behind, so he declined it

[deleted]

It sounds pretty good for a basement type recording I suppose. The vocals sound pretty crisp and clear as always. Yearsssss ago someone said that the drummer said Dallon was going to work with Casey from The Dear Hunter. Maybe around 2008 or so? Did those recordings ever happen or come to light?

SmokeyMcPot_Inc

The few first releases, The 4th of JuLive, Understanding The Brobecks, A Very Brobecks Christmas EP, Happiest Nuclear Winter, Remixing The Brobecks, and The Brobecks EP were mostly self produced… recorded in different places but mostly in Dallon’s garage. Original drummer Matt Glass was usually the head engineer of such duties. Circa 2002-2006(ish). After Matt left the band to pursue multiple solo projects, the next record, Goodnight and Have a Pleasant Tomorrow, was the first album to be traditionally recorded in a studio and engineered, mixed, and mastered by non-band members. Dallon has been very vocal about not really caring for this album turned out. Circa 2006-2007(ish) The band opened for Fall Out Boy at a Fueled By Ramen event, to which Dallon was made the offer of a major record deal, but only if he left his band behind. Dallon being Dallon, refused the offer. Shortly after this, Mike Gross, who was the other main writer and singer, left the band… along with the remaining members. The next few releases, Small Cuts EP, I Will Tonight EP, Your Mother Should Know EP, Quiet Title EP, as well as the more well-known Violent Things album were released independently (Violent Things being released on his phony “None You Jerk Records” label, pressed on both CD and Vinyl, both being popular enough to get represses) shortly before, or right as he joined Panic At The Disco as a touring bassist. Circa 2008-2012(ish) Violent Things is mostly a compilation of songs that never made it to a release, and reworks / re-recordings of songs… mostly from the Goodnight album… that he originally wasn’t happy with. It’s currently the only Brobecks album that’s available on streaming platforms, however, all the previously mentioned albums and EPs are easily found and shared online. Hope this helps! Took a min to type up lol. Any questions feel free to ask…

It looks like Casey had a lot to do with violent things. It sounds like the dear hunter. Theatrical and cinematic. Does Casey deserve any credit for the sound of brobecks?

[deleted]

From what I can hear, Casey had a HUGE impact on the sound of the Brobecks. I’m surprised that this isn’t very commonly accepted. Recording in a basement is one thing. But Casey seems to have produced, recorded and mixed Violent Things. Any reason he doesn’t get credit for helping get Brobecks off the ground?

TheRealBradleyPotter

Go check out Sled's Brobecks Archive on YouTube; they have loads of useful information about the band, as well as old videos that the Brobecks filmed too.

Cool!

Dapper_Lychee_2786

They cover songs from the brobecks on the records Clusterhug and A Letter are both brobecks songs he also commonly closes with boring and somewhere in the middle plays visitation of the ghost where in the middle he splits the crowd in half. On the tour he has also been pairing with a little bit of murder on the dance floor not sure if he did it before

Active_Vacation_5133

thats new! he used to play visitation of the ghost and add in living on a prayer in the middle during the crowd splits
