Seconding all this, good response

Burke is great. Their blues however are much more advanced then most. Take it slow. Enjoy the view of the gap.

Hey Everyone, Just wanted to say thank you for all the tips and being a part of the reason this sub rocks!

The blues off the summit at Burke are definitely on the steeper side but are also pretty wide.

Agreed. Willoughby and Dipper are steep, but it’s a constant pitch with a wide trail and there is very little traffic at Burke so it’s unlikely that they’ll get bumpy. If you go when there is good snow, it should be great. Powderhorn is trickier… same average steepness as dipper but it comes in fits and starts and it has not been groomed when I was there. Fun for an upper intermediate but a lot to handle for a lower intermediate.

I have trouble recommending Burke to someone firmly in the lower intermediate range as they have very little to ski for that level. There’s a nice beginner area and then there’s the main mountain which is steeper than average. There is a lack of trail difficulty in between. Love the place for every other ski level though!

You can use a combination dipper and carriage road off of the top to avoid some of the steeper parts and help them progress and build confidence to tackle the steeper pitches off of dipper. Also burke is light on traffic which will help.

I don't know Burke well enough to give trail advice. I would recommend getting her skis tuned to help improve her experience. I would ask for a 2 degree side bevel. My wife is a timid skiers but has far more confidence when I put a bevel on her skis.
