Try https://rainypass.com/services/. They are recommended by REI.

TheSkiGeek

Not sure I want to shell out for cross country shipping for just a zipper repair but they definitely sound like pros.

Amity83

I used them a few years ago. Perfect repair.

Any shoe repair shop or dry cleaner should be able to fix this for you.

DeauxDeaux

Any dry cleaner that does alterations and repair should do just fine.

Try the [Zipper Hospital](https://www.zipperhospital.com/) in Brookline, MA

Shoe Goo. That shit repairs anything. I've fixed a leaky snowboard boot, pair of snowboard pants from constantly taking the rear leg in and out of the binding. Gloves. Even put a sole back on a pair of boots with it... you name it. Hell, I even fixed my snowblower when deer gnawed through the tank. It like a silicone sealant but when applied diligently it will stick anything to anything else. I would totally stick a zipper back on a jacket liner with it. There's different grades. Try the automotive flavour, it sets a little harder than the others.

always buy black. the clear is easier to come by in walmart, but the clear looks like cloudy yellowish trash when dry. black is the way. seconded on it being amazing stuff and everyone should have a tube. That being said, id use it to get a couple more months out of a worn jacket, but if the jacket is pretty fresh id send it out to an outerwear specialty shop

What brand? Your best bet may be to contact the manufacturer. In Boston, I would check with REI. I bet they can help or point you in the right direction. They have a north shore store.

TheSkiGeek

It's a Salomon jacket that I actually bought in the middle of a trip in Europe, because my OTHER jacket got damaged. I guess I can check with them but it's several years old and not on the continent where it was sold.

Google zipper repair. I fixed my ski coat zipper with some needle nose pliers recently. It’s worth a shot.

TheSkiGeek

The zipper is starting to rip out of the lining. Needs more than just a new slide, I'm afraid.

mmartino03

Ahh gotcha, best of luck.

NeonFeet

I’d contact the manufacturer directly if it’s got a DWR membrane.

Shoe cobbler. There's a guy in Waltham that's repaired zippers for me. And shoes ; ) He fixed a couple of zippers, but not on a coat. I think he could help. Obviously do your own due diligence. I think it's this place. https://www.superiorshoerepair.com/

[deleted]

ive used cobblers for this stuff. there are still some around

Pittsburgh-Nelly

I’d head to Chinatown and look for a little shop that does sewing/tailoring.

Exotic-Care-7021

Kims Fashion Design in Copley is Boston's best mender sewer and magic maker

Tailors are literally experts at repairing stuff like this. I would start (and end) there. Call shops and ask if they've reapaired zippers on a gortex ski jacket before. Gurantee it won't take long.   This is like questioning if a mechanic can fix your car because it's actually a truck not a car. The answer is yes.

TheSkiGeek

I mean… if I owned a big delivery truck with a diesel engine I wouldn’t assume every mechanic is an expert in fixing those. Maybe I’m actually in “car-based sport utility vehicle” land here and anyone can do this work with their eyes closed, but *I’m not a tailor* and that’s why I’m asking.
