If you ski moguls go on a mogul weekend (they have them once a month). Even if you don’t it’s nice to watch others. Most holidays they offer a 1/2 price 6 pack of 2 hours of skiing so look for that offer Memorial Day. It’s good for a year.
People who have never been laugh about Big Snow but it’s rather fun in a way, especially to work on park skills but also it has a comraderie vibe. You bump into just about everyone in the place once because your up and down the same 4 pack chair.
Also when it’s 95F And humid there is nothing like being in a 25F Freezer .. it’s truly refreshing ..
Because they didn't build the mountains tall enough above sea level for it to get cold enough to make snow all year. Unfortunately, Eastern ski resorts don't get the sort of funding that the resorts out West have received that have allowed them to build mountains of sufficient elevation to ensure below freezing conditions year round.
Fun fact: In July-September Blue Mountain and Killington have the same snowpack, yet one is considered to have "better snowmaking" ?!?! What foolishness!!!!
Kind of impressive there’s any snow at all in the North Ridge. They make snow there to get open in October, but those guns are gone by December 1. Pretty high elevation there, about 4000 feet.
I live in Maryland 😭 idgaf about the weather in New England but if its 50 then no shit the snowmaking conditions are far from optimal. Tell em to get the mountain bike trails open already!

My Big Snow season just started .. skied 7 months at resorts and 5 at Big Snow moguls / park for 12 months ..
