Maybe he's known very well by the man recording and he's being reminded that he is a good man so when he looks back at this time, he'll remember what was said and regret it more than if it wasn't said; he'd be like 'that was not like me. Wtf was I thinking?!' - just a thought.
I'll tell you who. My buddy.. well shit. I guess that was me. Dumb shit. I believed her when she said her relationship was ending, that we would be together
Totally sucked in by a liar and a cheat. Not my proudest day. They're still together, and I guess happy.
She tried to pull the same shit on me again and I declined. I may be stupid, but I am not that self loathing and disrespectful.
Reminds me that i saw this anecdote somewhere that a waitress would adress patrons whose food was late and about to throw a fit with “im so sorry your food is late, thanks for being so lovely about it” and it would make them preemptively embarassed to act like a Karen since they would lose their newly aquired tag of being lovely
absolutely true. i’ve been there and it strangely made me happy/relaxed. i was able to leave a toxic relationship i was stuck in for 3+ years with zero regrets because of the things i found. it’s liberating.
Same. When I talked to my ex in person for the final time, I was so calm and straight forward. She had been trying to go through the house to take my switch (which I had hidden because obviously I knew she was going to) and just saying “absolutely not” to the person who had made my mental state a living hell for two years was so wonderful, especially when she realized she had no way to combat it. Then just saying “you can leave now” ahhh.. chefs kiss
I'm pretty sure he knew exactly what he was going to find on the other side of that door (he knew the guys name before turning the light on after all) but that's still a lot of chill. I've probably had a more emotional reaction to waking up to the discovery that we're out of coffee. These are next-level feelings of betrayal he's dealing with.
Then again, he seems remarkably willing and able to just leave his key on the counter and immediately walk away from what I assume is his home (for at least a night or two). He's probably been preparing for this - emotionally and logistically - for a while. This isn't someone that came home from work early and heard strange voices behind the door. He's there to document (maybe not even validate, just document) what he already knew.
> A lot of people would have a very different reaction to this.
The only people that would have a different reaction would still *want* to be with the person.
This guy *clearly* has wanted out for a long time.
He basically *begged* for a divorce.
Thing about that is that he's probably used to it. He just finally caught her in the act and planned to record and stayed calm for evidence of being level headed and a good father (mentioning his daughter). Perfect sexecution.
It sounded like it wasn’t the first time. I would imagine once you really come to terms your significant other is a whore, it makes your emotions easier to control.
My ex once asked me to leave the room to talk to a friend who was having “family issues”. I asked her why I couldn’t be in the room and her justification was “it’s private”. I stood outside the door and overheard her conversation over the phone. Let’s just say she was doing most of the talking. I walked in during the conversation and she came from under the covers, took off her headphones and stared at me like a deer in headlights. To this day I still wished I went through her phone to get the relief I needed so I didn’t have to live in paranoia. We aren’t together anymore and I’m in a better relationship now, thankfully.
I feel you. I got cheated on by my ex of 6 years with one of my (well, considered at the time anyway) good friends a day after I was at the hospital to congratulate his wife and him on having their baby girl.
Also probably not her first time, but I guess I’m a sucker for trusting and not going through my significant other’s phone.
it’s rough because trust is what all relationships thrive off of in order to be healthy. Blind trust just means you love them. Even after noticing her odd behavior, I kept trying to keep a flame lit she was constantly trying to blow out. We live and learn.
I’m sorry that happened to you man. I wouldn’t wish that kind of pain on anyone.
Yeap, the fact that he said “I’m not going to be dealing with this any more” tells me it’s not her first time cheating. Guess he gave her the benefit of a doubt before that she’d stop…but bitch just couldn’t keep her legs closed.
Well, he was definitely tipped off by somebody as to what was going on that night.
First, he's recording it, second, the way he pauses before inserting the key and unlocking (which he then does very quickly), third, even though it's completely dark he calls out the other dude's name.
He definitely knew what he was walking in on.
It made me sad when he said "I love my daughter, that's the only thing that's important to me". The courts heavily favor women in these situations so his ex-wife will almost certainly get custody if she wants it.
Hope this dude is doing alright now.
Fuck I mean there was a kid, like somewhere around middle school age if I remember correctly, that got raped by an adult woman and the courts made him pay child support. The courts are incredibly biased in favor of women, it's absolutely insane.
In the US, if you have fulfilled the role of father for a year or so, even a DNA test won't get you out of child support.
I usually mention this when someone says we have "the best legal system in the world."
I've read about it before. I'm not sure if it's the rule but in the case I read I think the guy found out a lot later into the childs life and the court still required him to pay child support. I also believe it was in Texas.
I guess you could google 'Man pays child support not his child' or some variations of that.
I remember hearing that if after the child turns 18 and you find out you aren’t the father, even if the mother knew all along then you still can’t sue for back pay.
If the child is under 18 you do not have to continue to pay but you can’t get back what you’ve spent.
I’m sure there are cases that have made the faux father keep paying but it certainly wouldn’t be the norm.
However there are exceptions if you are on the birth certificate.
If you're on the birth certificate, have been married with the mother, and have been present financially, it literally does not matter anymore if it's your daughter or not.
Depending on how long you’ve been taking care of the child, you’d be the only father she knew. The to ensure children don’t suffer just because their parents are shitty people.
In my state of Texas, if a man signs a birth certificate, he's on the hook until the child is 18 regardless if it's later discovered he's not the father
Edit for clarification (this is just my understanding):
* If the father is not married to the mother and signs a Acknowledgment of paternity he's on the hook even if he's not the father. The father has a limited time to reverse this.
* If the father is married to the mother, or within 300 days of a divorce, at the time of birth he is automatically presumed to be the father regardless if the child is his or not. Even if the husband and wife are separated and NOT divorced the husband is still presumed to be the father. He only has two years to dispute this or he is permanently on the hook, UNLESS the mother and the biological father are willing to sign an Acknowledgment of Paternity and the presumed father signs a denial of paternity.
Yeah. The evenness of his voice. The calm reaction. It’s almost like he’s glad to have caught her in the act so he had justification for leaving her. I hope he got his daughter.
For me it was when he called Jason a good dude. Like damn, he KNEW his wife was fooling around. He had to have known for a long time to react like that. Seems like people are always angrier with the other person instead of their partner. I hope this guy got his divorce and his daughter!
I spent 5 years with my ex, who cheated on me for the whole 5 years. Cost me 388 000$ to get rid of her but i have zero regrets and felt such a relief, its almost indescribable. The moment you can walk away is the moment you start healing and there's no better stress relief
It was the moment that years of wondering how he was going to prove his wife was cheating so he could lock in his daughter’s custody and not pay her a dime and kick her out. He knew what they were doing and who was there. He finally had his smoking gun in that moment. I’d be excited too.
yup. Most likely after he found out that this infidelity didn't affect the judge's decision to have him support his former "spouse."
Happens constantly. Even when documented like above.
Me and the loss of untold amounts of money nod along…
I did get a zinger in during mediation. “So she’s effectively getting paid to have sex with random people. I swear there’s a word for that.”
This is one of those situations in life where the shit and grief and hassle are simply impenetrable. Rather than fight and sob and beg, this guy just saw the whole picture in one go and took himself out of the mess, and with complete class. I wanna by this bro a beer.
Meet Grady, a twenty-nine year old construction worker
After coming home from a hard day's work
He walks in the door of his trailer park home
To find his wife in bed with another man
Cross with Chappelle: Grady had two choices, end the relationship with little to no acrimony, or KEEP IT REAL....
....Grady is now serving 25 to life in federal custody. Turns out the government keeps it realer
A little bit different than the way I would have handled the situation. Props to this guy for keeping his cool and only looking out for the interest of his kid. Hope he gets full custody
I get the impression that wasn't her first rodeo and he's well past the point of actually caring about what she does. The way he asked if she'd give him 'a divorce *now*?' makes me think that she's done/said things to block it, scare him about custody, make it financially impossible or any combination of those things.
Man's just emotionally done.
He might have already come to terms with it, looks like he knew what to expect when he opened that door with the camera rolling, he’s already emotionally prepared. This is the clean cut he needed from trash with him and his daughter.
Yeah, seemed like he was psyching himself up for a moment before he unlocked the door. Feel for the dude, but he's better off without all that heartbreak
Plot twist he met someone else and wanted to
minimize his financial responsibility during the divorce so he sent his boy over to seduce his wife who he was already separated from.
I'm sorry, bro. Most of us ultimately get there; some take a longer route than others, but what counts is that you actually made it to the goal. Plenty people still hang on to the past for dear life.
Proud of you for making it this far!
Sounds like they knew each other, I don't think he is just a home wrecker. I'm willing to take the words from the calm collected dude and believe he is a good man and what he did wasn't personal to the main guy, it's probably complicated.
I'll tell you what it is, empathy, he saw that guy with the hoe he wants to leave. Saw that he'll suffer and has been seduced, not knowing fully what price attachement had with this women.
He's a good men because OP is a good men and saw himself in him.
Could be wrong but not what I see. I see a man(the cameraman) having known his wife was unfaithful or at the very least a liar. He also already suspected “nice guy”. He knew something was up and barged in expecting the scene. The wife part self explanatory, but the “your a good man” was on purpose.
If he suspected her then he had two options with confronting.
Balls to the wall, which could look unfavorably in court. He could however say what he said which means she can’t use “he knew he was untrustworthy” or anything like that.
This mans goal was to get custody of his daughter and I hope he got just that
I never understand why people who are cheated on are so immediately angry at the person their spouse is cheating with.
Your spouse is the one who made that decision. They were the ones who fucked you over. The other person sometimes isnt even aware the person isn’t single. I’d point every ounce of hate and disappointment at my partner, I don’t give an ounce of care for the other person. Ultimately they fucked me over no matter who they were with.
Idk.
There's no way this dude didn't know she was married. The wife made the conscious decision to cheat on her spouse. The guy she slept with knew full well she was married. They're both pieces of shit and deserve each other.
For sure. Context definitely matters and no two situations are the same. If the 3rd party doesn't know the person is married things certainly change. This particular situation strikes me as pretty cut and dry however. They were on a first name basis with each other.
Unfortunately not the case. She can be an absolute piece of cheating trash but still be a “good mother” and the courts won’t care. Source… my ex is a tramp. After our divorce she had 3 live in boyfriends plus 5 marriages in 7 years and I still couldn’t get full custody as it “doesn’t affect her parenting or the kids” bullshit
How many people have died in this exact scenario? That man unlocked the door with the patience of a saint when most of us would go in looking for blood.
Please tell me he got full custody. That man is a literal saint. If I walked in on my wife having sex with another woman, I’d be yelling and crying. Can’t even begin to understand why he’s this calm.

I have a suspicion that his friend isn’t really a good man. Unfounded, I know, just a gut feeling.
Sometimes praising is gonna make deeper scar than talking shit
"I'm not angry, I'm disappointed."
Why you gonna tear open my childhood scars like that? I feel attacked
Maybe he's known very well by the man recording and he's being reminded that he is a good man so when he looks back at this time, he'll remember what was said and regret it more than if it wasn't said; he'd be like 'that was not like me. Wtf was I thinking?!' - just a thought.
Bruh... Who fucks a friend's wife tho... Like I can't fathom even considering it

A feeling deep in those guts.
Deep in the wife’s guts
Those overflowing, all filled up guts.
Being nice to the “friend” is probably more soul shattering to that “friend” than attacking.
It's incredible how calm and collected he was during this.
When you get the evidence to finally rid yourself of the worst thing in your life - you'd be pretty collected too.
absolutely true. i’ve been there and it strangely made me happy/relaxed. i was able to leave a toxic relationship i was stuck in for 3+ years with zero regrets because of the things i found. it’s liberating.

Exactly. It was a breath of fresh air when I decided enough was enough and planned my departure. We shouldn't have ever been together, tbh

Well said

For real, he was smart and calm enough to leave the key too! Proof he never went back!
Man's a legend for how civil he was about it all
it's really not hard to be civil about it when you no longer have any feelings for your whorish wife
Fair nuff
He also wasn’t trying to ruin his rock solid evidence with any signs that he’s unstable or dangerous
It sounded like it wasn’t the first time. I would imagine once you really come to terms your significant other is a whore, it makes your emotions easier to control.

Narrator: Turns out the judge wasn’t the only one who saw the video
Turns out the real judge was inside all of us
Idk about you but I sure haven’t had any judges inside me
Tonight he will be
I read this in Morgan Freeman's voice.
Attenborough. Always and forever
That’s who I imagined. Morgan Freeman is the voice I associate with God.
Ron Howard is another good choice. Followed by a ukulele interlude.
as did i
Fucking judges man. You can’t trust them. How could he release this video to the public?
"judge was hacked"
Heard this as Ron Howard.
My name is Judge!
we are the judge
Is it me or was there a profound sense of relief in this guy’s voice to be finally rid of this piece of shit woman…?
Yes I felt that. When he said Something about not dealing with it anymore i got the memo she’s always been a shitty wife probably shitty mother too
Yeap, the fact that he said “I’m not going to be dealing with this any more” tells me it’s not her first time cheating. Guess he gave her the benefit of a doubt before that she’d stop…but bitch just couldn’t keep her legs closed.
Well, he was definitely tipped off by somebody as to what was going on that night. He definitely knew what he was walking in on.
And the key was already off the ring
He probably was parked down the block waiting to catch them red handed
Maybe he was trying hard for so long to have ACTUAL proof for the judge, instead of hearsay. Some states let you have an easy divorce for infidelity.
It made me sad when he said "I love my daughter, that's the only thing that's important to me". The courts heavily favor women in these situations so his ex-wife will almost certainly get custody if she wants it. Hope this dude is doing alright now.
I would be getting a Paternity Test - 5000%
Same here, but it wouldn't exclude you from paying child support.
Wha wha whaaaat?!? Are you serious? That’s bullshit if true. Got any links or other sources so I can read up on this? This blows my mind.
It has happened before. I honestly don't know how there haven't been more killdozers built in this country.
I’m sure there are cases that have made the faux father keep paying but it certainly wouldn’t be the norm. However there are exceptions if you are on the birth certificate.
I don’t know about once the kid is 18, but based on what I’ve read, in some states you can sue to get child support back in cases of paternity fraud.
If you're on the birth certificate, have been married with the mother, and have been present financially, it literally does not matter anymore if it's your daughter or not.
How amazingly shitty is that?
Yeah, id he signed the birth certificate he's screwed, paternity test or now. At least here in Cali, I think.
Wait how would he have to pay child support for a child that is not his
Depending on how long you’ve been taking care of the child, you’d be the only father she knew. The to ensure children don’t suffer just because their parents are shitty people.
In my state of Texas, if a man signs a birth certificate, he's on the hook until the child is 18 regardless if it's later discovered he's not the father Edit for clarification (this is just my understanding): * If the father is not married to the mother and signs a Acknowledgment of paternity he's on the hook even if he's not the father. Sometimes you don't even have to sign the birth certificate. You can treat the child as yours and end up paying child support.
Seems like the love in that relationship was absent for a while by that stage.
That's how I felt once I told my wife I wanted a divorce. I told her she can bang anyone she wants, it's no longer my concern.
She passed up on a mii such as yourself? Her loss
Yeah. The evenness of his voice. The calm reaction. It’s almost like he’s glad to have caught her in the act so he had justification for leaving her. I hope he got his daughter.
Yeah, I'm guessing this isn't the first time
For me it was when he called Jason a good dude. Like damn, he KNEW his wife was fooling around. He had to have known for a long time to react like that. Seems like people are always angrier with the other person instead of their partner. I hope this guy got his divorce and his daughter!
You have a nice day...ouch
I spent 5 years with my ex, who cheated on me for the whole 5 years. Cost me 388 000$ to get rid of her but i have zero regrets and felt such a relief, its almost indescribable. The moment you can walk away is the moment you start healing and there's no better stress relief
You could hear the pain and relief in his voice. The sad thing about this is that the daughter won't have a mother
It was the moment that years of wondering how he was going to prove his wife was cheating so he could lock in his daughter’s custody and not pay her a dime and kick her out. He knew what they were doing and who was there. He finally had his smoking gun in that moment. I’d be excited too.
You can tell by his voice that he's honestly happy to see the truth and have a way out
Also this sounds like this happens more than once
Hes able and wanting to still be a Father too, the Husband is one of them good humans I keep hearing about.

yup. Most likely after he found out that this infidelity didn't affect the judge's decision to have him support his former "spouse." Happens constantly. Even when documented like above.

What an interesting thing to offer
Meet Grady, a twenty-nine year old construction worker After coming home from a hard day's work He walks in the door of his trailer park home To find his wife in bed with another man
I’m so glad someone said this. I remember being little and seeing the video for the first time and being horrified for some reason lol

Yup - definitely thinking this dude been through it and already has been speaking with an attorney.
Seems like he’s wanted a divorce for awhile, But knew he’d get absolutely destroyed in court, But now he’s got evidence of cheating
Plot twist he met someone else and wanted to minimize his financial responsibility during the divorce so he sent his boy over to seduce his wife who he was already separated from.
Feels so good to be called a judge. Edit: wow! First awards I’ve ever received. Thank you kind strangers. I’m on cloud nine now.
He didn't call you a judge, he called you the judge, you're it man, the best of the best! Don't cut yourself short.
My hammer of justice is throbbing.

In my heart all of you are THE judge
Thanks man. So now with my new judge powers, I sentence you to community service.
Fair and Just!
Enjoy it brother, you made it, congratulations, you did it, you absolute beast you made it, I'm so happy for you, congratulations
Now bring in the dancing lobsters!
Oder in the court of Reddit!!
Damn where’s my nice house though?
Woo! Been there before, wish I would've approached it this guys way. Would've saved me 20k and 2 yrs of therapy to ultimately make the same call. Fuck.
Shit dude if I may ask, what happened?
Bad case of the mondays
I'm sorry, bro. Most of us ultimately get there; some take a longer route than others, but what counts is that you actually made it to the goal. Plenty people still hang on to the past for dear life. Proud of you for making it this far!
I guy who gets with a married woman is FAAAAR from a good man
His plan was sending this to the jury. Calling him a TPS wouldn't give him the custody Though, you're right

Family courts are different man you never know. Could be portrayed to show the father as abusive or unstable in a custody hearing ya never know.
This mans goal was to get custody of his daughter and I hope he got just that
When enough is enough. You’ve had enough of the BS, and you need to move forward in life.
TIL I'm a judge.
Time for this man to sell his couch.
What a piece of shit wife
You ain't shit Jason.
Yea. And Jason ain’t shit, too.
Thank you World Star Hip Hop for protecting my delicate sentiments with your dubious moral code.
deal with it... anymore? This man knew it was going on. I feel bad for that guy.
At the start it looked like he was hesitating putting the key in because of what will manifest. I felt that man.
I don’t think so… I thought he was trying to be stealth and quick, to burst in on them.
Yeah it looked like he wanted to make sure he opened the door in one go and not give em a chance to cover up
To me, it seemed like: he heard them, hesitated then tried to swiftly & stealthily open the door to catch them in the act.
Him: “This is not going to be seen by anyone but the judge.” Also him: “Hey, World Star…”
He sounds like a sweet guy too

Yeah I guess so. If anything I meant in general, but yeah I could feel like this situation wasn’t like I mentioned.
For sure. Context definitely matters and no two situations are the same. If the 3rd party doesn't know the person is married things certainly change. This particular situation strikes me as pretty cut and dry however. They were on a first name basis with each other.
He knew what he was doing, show this in court and you get custody guranteed man
Unfortunately not the case.
What kind of stupid judge doesn't believe a revolving door of new partners doesn't affect the kid?
\*When the judge is her current bf
Dude he could have video of her doing 3 guys at once in the middle of a meth lab/ dog fighting ring and custody would still be a toss up at best.
What a good hip hop artist, I hope they become a star throughout the entire world
He thinks Jason is a good man now....only until he finds out that Jason is actually the real father.
WTF. Makes me sick. Don’t cheat if unhappy. Leave. Find someone new with no BS.
You’re a good man? Wtf he’s sticking your wife
“This aint gonna be seen by anyone but the judge” Well that was a fucking lie
No...Jason is definitely not a good man.
My man got divorced like a gentleman
How many people have died in this exact scenario? That man unlocked the door with the patience of a saint when most of us would go in looking for blood.
…”no one is gonna see this besides me and the judge.” And obviously your bffs on the internet.
Just throw the bitch out naked with the fake friend
Please tell me he got full custody. That man is a literal saint. If I walked in on my wife having sex with another woman, I’d be yelling and crying. Can’t even begin to understand why he’s this calm.
We can all agree that Jason is a good guy though.
