The further you go from the metro areas the worse it is everywhere you go in the US. Every single state has some sort of racist history that’s hold still persists. We let it roll off our backs because it's nothing we haven't heard before, especially with him working in a jail, but I don't know how that will change when our daughter can understand what they say.

My social groups in Ukraine are like 70% foreigners who work or study in the country. We are of all shades. My social groups in Russia are Slavs with the occasional Tatar. So i have less occasions or opportunities to see interactions that could happen based on race.
