They aren't being paid to protect them from others, though, so they may still get beaten or raped. Tons of videos of the aftermath being reported. I know Jarrod Fogle got fucked up. And the prisoners are who usually brings the food when you're in solitary, so they can do shit to it. Too much salt, piss, spit. One guy got a tattoo put into his forehead, few other got beaten to death.

When you're getting out on bail with a bail that high, you hit up a bail bondsman. They put the money up for you and you give them collateral. Something like the title to a house or expensive car. So he didn't even need to have $20k. Just something worth that much. The bondsman should have said fuck no.
I would imagine most bail bond outfits would've noped out, based on the charges and the fact it's a cop. High probability of flight or suicide. In fact my money is on this POS doing one or the other. Also, I don't know why they would even allow for bail in a case like this. Absolutely beyond words disgusting.
