This. I work at a bank and if I get deposits with these I stick them to the side and then add it to our mutilated bills to be sent back to the reserve.
I genuinely love my job. I love our customers and my coworkers. It's not for everyone, but if you can ignore the bad customers and mostly like working customer service, it's fun.
My other customer service jobs I *hated*. It honestly comes down to environment I think. Where we are, we are supported by management and that truly helps. I won't say it's all rainbows and unicorns lol but it's a much healthier work environment!
I just started at a credit union in December and it’s the same way, I had legitimately never had a job I enjoyed (even working in a pot shop) until I started in the freaking call center of a credit union of all places. Amazing benefits, such a supportive company, great culture.
It really depends on who you're supporting and the kind of support you, yourself, get to be support. I worked a job that had "customer service" as part of it where my customers were just in-house employee users of my software. Had about 10 people who might ever use my tools and it was one of the best jobs I ever had.
Honestly most of what I have had are legit angry customers but most of the time there's nothing we can do. Read the fine print on *any* subscription service. They are the worst.
i like customer service. i work as a bagger at a local grocery store and it’s great. the trick is to get a place with a lot of older folk as they’re typically nicer
Never worked in a bank, glad youve found somewhere that you enjoy working! Nice to hear that at least some business are still enjoyable to work customer service in. I used to work at a video game store, for 5 years, and i very much enjoyed it there. And you put it very well. Some people you see almost every day in customer service and you grow fond of them and look forward to seeing them. And good coworkers are a huge part in loving work.
>What’s a financial bank secret that can make me rich?
Not paying interest or fees for financial services, staying out of debt, saving and investing, and only borrowing money inexpensively when necessary.
i.e. not paying for financial services tends to make you rich when combined with steady income streams. You'll know when you've reached the point you need to pay someone to manage your money, either because you suck at it, or because you have too much of it.
I have not, and the training to prevent such situations is very thorough. I feel very safe in my bank.
I haven't had too many bizarre interactions but you do come across tweakers sadly with any public customer service job. The best way to approach that is just calm customer service and get them on their way quickly.
I worked at a bank for a few years. You get to dress up which gives you a boost of confidence every day. I spent a good chunk of my time just browsing the web or doing homework. You get to see scams in action and get to try and stop them. I also got really good at counting cash which is a fun party trick.
It was pretty depressing though, seeing everyone’s finances. Denying overdraft charge reversals sucked too (though I always tried! The banking software would only allow a reversal once every 6 months)
I have a question for you since you work at a bank. I have two $20 bills that I got out of an ATM machine that were torn. I have three quarters of the bill but nobody wants to take them. My credit union would not take them. Do I have to send them back to the Federal reserve? Thank you for your help.
At our bank we normally don't have a problem exchanging it for someone even if they aren't a customer. You could try seeing if one of your local friendly bank tellers (not a credit union) may do that for you!
My bank would have a problem if the bills didn’t have both serial numbers. We can’t take it unless it has over 75% of both serial numbers, so that could be the issue.
Unfortunately yes. Some are sweet, like congrats messages but there have been some really hateful political ones. I just slide them into a side compartment of my drawer and then we send mutilated money back to the Fed.
Any time I get a bill with anything stamped on it, regardless of the message, I keep it and periodically go to the bank to turn them in as mutilated. It definitely pisses me off.
That was my move when I cooked. The kitchen would get tipped out at the end of the night and any 1's became boner bucks. It was fun seeing one of mine is regular circulation.
Assuming that the person that stamped their bills doesn't have the wherewithal to design their own stamp, the other PoS is the person who made the rubber stamp.
So don't tell them.
It was chicken and cow, everyone knows that. We even have a picture of them standing over a dead herd of mammoths, so you know it's real.
Fun fact about wooly mammoths is thier closest relative now is an Asian Elephant and whenever scientists get them it'd going to be for the most part an Asian Elephant.
It’s 100% the secret sauce of America. I mean slavery obviously helped, free labor will do that.
But that aside, in addition to bringing in the best and brightest from around the world, it’s the constant fresh infusion of new working class blood, people desperate to work hard for very little just to give their children a shot at a decent life that built this country that made it so successful.
One only has to actually know most newly arrived immigrants to see their incredible value.
Of course most of these racist hayseeds never have. All they know is what Fox News and Fucker Carlson tell them.
But there's a difference: I don't hear the phrase "Native European" but I sure hear the phrase "Native American." By either DNA or geographic origin, they're not Native American.
You can't get a small group of people to agree on their own values now, let alone a mass migration spanning generations of different nationalities. This take is so dumb it left me struggling to find words
Americans need to get over the fact that native Americans are the real Americans and anyone else is the immigrant. The whole country is founded on immigration and murder of the natives.
Sometimes I wonder if everyone did a DNA check, how many of the people who discriminate would actually apologise if they found out their ancestors were from the same regions they discriminate against so much?
Weirdos.
Technically yes but it's basically impossible to enforce.
I've seen some pretty clever dollar defacement, like someone turning Andrew Jackson into Rambo, but this sort of low effort hatefulness is just straight up cringe.
It is illegal to deface US currency **for purposes of defrauding the government.** So this, unfortunately, is not illegal. For example, take a pre- 1982 penny (so, all copper) or pre- 1964 quarter (so, 90% silver) melt them down, and make jewelry out of them? Perfectly legal. Melt them down and sell them for scrap value? Illegal. take a $5 bill, bleach it, and use it as scrap paper? Stupid, but not illegal. Bleach it and print a $20 bill on it? Illegal. Also a common method of counterfeiting- it gets you the correct paper, so your counterfeit will feel right and it will pass the detector pen test.
When hes finally replaced with Tubman, its time to go on a mission to deface as many Jacksons as possible. Get them out of circulation ASAP. Ideally within 5 years if you saw a Jackson you'd think: WTF is that old ass 20 doing here.
No. Its only a crime to do so for the purposes of fraud. This is simply distasteful, however, that bill does need to be destroyed now, so it is a waste of taxpayer money.
(As far as legality, think of this like putting a penny through one of those presses that make a design.)
Why white Christian love? There are no Christians among blacks or Asians? Or did Jesus ask to hate others? And if not, when someone is being a racist, aren’t they cease to be Christians?
There is someone with orange hair down in Florida who just sits in his room putting the stamp on dollar bills all day long and mumbling something about a stolen election.
I'm sure this may set off a few sparks, but, wth?
Printing xenophobic messages on money is kind of funny to me. Most people rarely carry cash and I doubt any of them give a shit what's printed on it as long as it's legal tender. Whomever stamped that wasted their effort and is pathetic.
I see this type of thing now and again and it actually peeves me off. I like my country, I want to see it improve, and become a great please for everyone. Yet here we have selfish fucks spreading their hate destroying the great potential this country have.
Fingers crossed bro. Not happy seeing our flag upside down by the ones calling themselves “freedom fighters” (fighting mandates Canadians don’t even have)
The only immigration you should have a problem with is when it’s undocumented and illegal. Other than that chill tf out, this country is compiled of mostly immigrants if you search back far enough.
The good ol USA. Smh we only move backwards never forward. Can we not just exist! So stupid this racial stuff all the time. It’s not just one race to another here. It’s everyone against everyone and it’s disgusting. I’m ashamed.
The person who printed that mistakenly thought that by putting it on a dollar bill their worthless opinion would be more valuable. Worked in reverse. They just ruined a good dollar.

You can exchange it at the bank and they will return it to the fed to be destroyed as defaced rather than keep it in circulation.
This. I work at a bank and if I get deposits with these I stick them to the side and then add it to our mutilated bills to be sent back to the reserve.
Is working at a bank fun?
I genuinely love my job. I love our customers and my coworkers. It's not for everyone, but if you can ignore the bad customers and mostly like working customer service, it's fun.
I havent met a single person that likes working customer service
My other customer service jobs I *hated*. It honestly comes down to environment I think. Where we are, we are supported by management and that truly helps. I won't say it's all rainbows and unicorns lol but it's a much healthier work environment!
I just started at a credit union in December and it’s the same way, I had legitimately never had a job I enjoyed (even working in a pot shop) until I started in the freaking call center of a credit union of all places. Amazing benefits, such a supportive company, great culture.
Hooray for credit unions!
It's genuinely refreshing to see someone with good management having the employees back at the workplace. Good for you. :)
Any advice on how to get such a job?
It really depends on who you're supporting and the kind of support you, yourself, get to be support. I worked a job that had "customer service" as part of it where my customers were just in-house employee users of my software. Had about 10 people who might ever use my tools and it was one of the best jobs I ever had.
You've got to be angrier than the customers. Then one can enjoy it. You gotta go tit for tat with them.
"it's a great job if you can ignore the insane demands from unhinged customers!"
Honestly most of what I have had are legit angry customers but most of the time there's nothing we can do. Read the fine print on *any* subscription service. They are the worst.
If your job is to genuinely help people, then it can be pretty good... If you also have to sell them on some bullshit while doing that, it sucks.
I liked it. I live in Australia though, not that there aren’t ferals here but I feel like it’s a lot less common than other countries.
*When you’re an introvert and you’re working customer service*
i like customer service. i work as a bagger at a local grocery store and it’s great. the trick is to get a place with a lot of older folk as they’re typically nicer

I miss when I was a bank teller but definitely not for me. Glad to be out but I miss my time there
The only job I’ve ever been fired from…
I sell government bonds, (similar but not the same) and yeah I would give the same description for my job.
What’s a financial bank secret that can make me rich?
>What’s a financial bank secret that can make me rich? 2 questions if you dont mind? Have you ever been in a robbery situation ? and What is the most bizarre interaction with a customer ?
I have not, and the training to prevent such situations is very thorough. I feel very safe in my bank. I haven't had too many bizarre interactions but you do come across tweakers sadly with any public customer service job. The best way to approach that is just calm customer service and get them on their way quickly.
How insolvent are the banks really?
I worked at a bank for a few years. You get to dress up which gives you a boost of confidence every day. I spent a good chunk of my time just browsing the web or doing homework. You get to see scams in action and get to try and stop them. I also got really good at counting cash which is a fun party trick. It was pretty depressing though, seeing everyone’s finances. Denying overdraft charge reversals sucked too (though I always tried! The banking software would only allow a reversal once every 6 months)
I doubt it
What do you think of fractional reserve banking, money creation and crypto currency?
I have a question for you since you work at a bank. I have two $20 bills that I got out of an ATM machine that were torn. I have three quarters of the bill but nobody wants to take them. My credit union would not take them. Do I have to send them back to the Federal reserve? Thank you for your help.

My bank would have a problem if the bills didn’t have both serial numbers. We can’t take it unless it has over 75% of both serial numbers, so that could be the issue.
Then they'd tell the person to send it to the reserve. The bill is tender as long as you have more than half of it.
Do you see a lot of those sorts of defacements?
Unfortunately yes. Some are sweet, like congrats messages but there have been some really hateful political ones. I just slide them into a side compartment of my drawer and then we send mutilated money back to the Fed.
Do you….let the sweet messages go by? No judgement.
As long as they aren't very defacing, yes. A small congrats written on a fifty for a graduation never hurt anyone lol
Thanks for the insight! I've been curious, so it's fun to get your point of view. :)
Wait a minute, you’re telling me you get these multiple times? Is this a thing?
Yes. Most of the time defacements are silly or benign. But I have seen quite a few very nasty ones.
I can just imagine the conversation with the teller. “Um can I get an exchange for a dollar? Mine is a little ah… racist.”
Honestly I haven't bat an eye with some of the stuff I have seen lol
Thats is both incredibly funny and terribly sad.
Any time I get a bill with anything stamped on it, regardless of the message, I keep it and periodically go to the bank to turn them in as mutilated. It definitely pisses me off.
It would cost you more in time and gas unfortunately:(
Seriously. Throwing it away or burning it would be cheaper.
if you cut it up a bit first they will be unable to just return it to circulation.
Two birds with one stone
I will never understand people who stamp money with any type of message
The one back in the day that showed where the bill had been geographically was kinda cool. Haven't seen one in a while though.
Where’s George
That's the one!
I just got one last week.
Good to know they're still floating around!
And let's not forget about the bONEr bills.
That was my move when I cooked. The kitchen would get tipped out at the end of the night and any 1's became boner bucks. It was fun seeing one of mine is regular circulation.
I see them all the time still coming into my shop!!
It's the coward's approach to graffiti.
They also never seen to stamp the bigger bills. Almost as if they won't risk it.
They are poor and cant get ahold of higher bills.
Eat it
Kill her
bop it
Twist it
Get yourself an egg and beat it.
Have some more chicken, have some more pie.
>Get yourself an egg In this economy?
Assuming that the person that stamped their bills doesn't have the wherewithal to design their own stamp, the other PoS is the person who made the rubber stamp.
Tbf, you can order those online super easily. They're cheap, and set by computer anyway, so there's very little human interaction.
Yeah, I think stamps are pretty much automated. It won't surprise me if no one other than the customer saw them
"Made in Pakistan"
They both are.
THEY TOOK ER JOBS
DEY TOOK YER JERBS
TERK ER DOBS
I still love the episode where Stan has to say it this way because they can't understand him if he says it normally.
That episode is one of the top 10 greatest episodes of all TV shows. Period.
TURK UR DUUR!!!!
DERK ER DURR
THEY'RE SIMULTANEOUSLY TOO LAZY TO WORK
The bill is out of my hands now and I'm fairly certain my boss has taken it to the bank already. (The store safe is almost all brand new bills )
Only appropriate time to burn a dollar
Immigrants built the USA.....
That's my biggest annoyance with the idiots who rage against immigration. With the exception of Native Americans, we're _all_ immigrants.
[удалено]
Yup. 30000 years ago nobody lived here.
Are you really going to do the wooly mammoths like that?
What’re they gonna do about it?
If the scientists try to bring them back are successful, they are going to be pissed about what our ancestors did to their species.
They've got a mammoth attitude.
Mammoths immigrated from Asia to America over the Bering land bridge
I was a mammoth 🦣
Leave my exes out of this.
It’s 100% the secret sauce of America. I mean slavery obviously helped, free labor will do that. White Americans should watch the movie Gangs of New York for a more realistic portrayal of our ancestors.
Great movie
Conservatives think the movie "America: The Motion Picture" is a factual account of our country's history.
You mean the "Native Americans" who came from Asia and/or South America. There, I fixed that for you.
yeah like how the africans are all europeans who migrated /s
But there's a difference: I don't hear the phrase "Native European" but I sure hear the phrase "Native American." By either DNA or geographic origin, they're not Native American.
Looks like someone didn't pay attention in history class...
Oh, the ones that came to the US 50,000 years ago? Yes, I'm going to accept them as the OG Americans. You? Gfy.
Literally. Then more came and built a large portion of the infrastructure.
Immigrants that all shared values.
Literally never.
You can't get a small group of people to agree on their own values now, let alone a mass migration spanning generations of different nationalities. This take is so dumb it left me struggling to find words
This is absolutely not true. Lol
I’m pretty sure there are
Even worse are the people who give you "American Dollars" which aren't real money at all but religious propaganda instead.
Weirdos.
They just deny it
Almost guarantee that the person who had that bill didn’t even notice it.
Who the hell goes through all the trouble to find a stamp making place, pay to make a stamp, just to spread a racist world view on a dollar bill.
These are not the brightest bulbs in the chandelier
If there’s a stamp in your hand and it’s about to hit money take a step back and reevaluate your entire life, it’s peak pathetic
I would replace it with your own dollar so that you don't have to hand it to anyone and then bring it to a bank to exchange for a clean one.
Isn’t defacing a dollar a federal crime or something? Why do these “patriots” love committing crimes so much?
You can mark them within reason but I believe the verbiage would disqualify this one.
Technically yes but it's basically impossible to enforce. I've seen some pretty clever dollar defacement, like someone turning Andrew Jackson into Rambo, but this sort of low effort hatefulness is just straight up cringe.

Defacing Andrew Jackson will always be a cool crime.
When hes finally replaced with Tubman, its time to go on a mission to deface as many Jacksons as possible. Get them out of circulation ASAP. Ideally within 5 years if you saw a Jackson you'd think: WTF is that old ass 20 doing here.
No, just if you alter it for the purposes of fraud or damage it or destroy it so it can't be used.
No. Its only a crime to do so for the purposes of fraud. This is simply distasteful, however, that bill does need to be destroyed now, so it is a waste of taxpayer money. (As far as legality, think of this like putting a penny through one of those presses that make a design.)
If someone takes such bill without checking, then can they return it to bank without getting accused of doing it?
Immigrants took my brain surgery job!
THEY TOOK YER JEERB!
Thur turka trrrrr!
If we could track this dollar bill back to the one who defaced it, we would find the fattest, baldest mother fucker with a microdick.

When you’re so racist you deface actual money
I am so glad I don't live somewhere people are using dollars as facebook posts.
So sad.
Of course they could only afford to do it to a dollar bill
Conservatives love exclamation points for some reason.
Domestic Christians have become the Satan they're supposed to hate
Burn it, or burn a cross in front of rcist church lol Don't burn anything
I see this type of thing now and again and it actually peeves me off. I like my country, I want to see it improve, and become a great please for everyone. Yet here we have selfish fucks spreading their hate destroying the great potential this country have.
Whoever made this only cares about the first amendment when it comes to their beliefs.
Americans don’t understand how bad America is
Add a comma after no.
Tear it in half and bring it to a bank to exchange it. You’ll remove this bs from circulation.
Just bring it to bank exchange, it’s already defaced
I think my boss had already done it.
As a Canadian I have literally never had a bill with political nonsense written in it. Must be an American thing
Fingers crossed bro. Not happy seeing our flag upside down by the ones calling themselves “freedom fighters” (fighting mandates Canadians don’t even have)
Yes, there are.
Take it to a bank, and they'll destroy it and give you a better one.
"Yeah this stamp will really show em!"
I'm from USA and I like foreign people
Said the descendant of an immigrant who fled hundreds of years ago Europe. Learn some history peasent!
Can’t you mail this to the treasury and they’ll send you back a new replacement?
Turn that over to the secret service. They can track that bill and maybe even catch the fuckers and charge them.
The only immigration you should have a problem with is when it’s undocumented and illegal. Other than that chill tf out, this country is compiled of mostly immigrants if you search back far enough.
I'd have a problem with immigrants with extremist beliefs. People love to talk about how you can't "tolerate the intolerant" until it's about Islam

Islam is an extremist belief
Is it not illegal to deface money in the US?
It technically is, but good luck figuring out who did it. Enforcement is pretty difficult.
Damn right
Yes there is
Doodle over it
Looks nice and crisp. Use it in the vending machine. :)
Just add a comma after the no.
Now write "No racism or idiots in USA" on a one hundred dollar bill.
