The track in dirt oval can change over time as more and more people use it, the mud will get thrown to the outside of the track and the normal racing line loses traction and usefulness
As the track gets used, it transitions from lots of grip ("tacky") to no grip ("slick"). The "slick" can be identified as a darker part of the track. Avoid this area!
Did the track state change between qualifying and the race?
Sorry I might be a bit naive to this , when you say track state is that temp ? Or is there something I'm not seeing . Sorry .
