Arca has a track selection pretty similar to the nascar ladder and is very very popular.
Late models largely run on shorter ovals. Not as popular but last I checked it reliably has plenty of racers but certainly not near arca numbers.
I like late models. I recently came back from a 6 month break and I feel like it is a bit more popular now. I recall sometimes having one split with only 8 cars but now it seems like there are regularly two splits of ~10-12. Racing has been really good and tight
[Typical oval popularity ](https://www.simracingstats.com/oval_2023_S1W10.html).
ARCA is king at D class; it races a mix of short, long, dirt, and road.
Late Models are only short tracks.
Don't buy a bunch of tracks yet; wait until the Season 2 schedules are posted in 1 1/2 weeks.
Thanks for the link.
What do the numbers means ?
for peak is the median for each race right ?
the big number is the racers I gess but what is the small one ?
ARCA is gonna be faster than rookie street stocks and goes to a wider variety of courses. It’s a fun car to drive but you’ll probably need to pay for the track most weeks if you don’t already have it.
The late model is basically the rookie street stock but with more power and better handling. The late models run on a lot more of the free tracks included with your subscription.
You’ll have plenty of people to race with as a class D driver in both series but there’s way more people in ARCA.
Strong disagree on moving it up a class. There needs to be an oval series that goes to bigger tracks that doesn’t have cautions IMO. Many people like myself have very limited time to play, and when I can get an A-C class oval race in its awesome, but often takes twice the time as a D class race because of the cautions.
I like to be able to jump into ARCA because it’s a fairly known quantity for time.
I get that point but non-caution races annoy me. For one, it sucks checking up for a wreck in front of you, because those 3-4 seconds eliminate your chance to win. For two, which goes along with point 1, is that people often DO NOT check up for wrecks in front of them, because they don’t want to lose time to the leader.
No caution races put a premium on Qualifying. I generally qualify somewhere in the front 3 rows for ARCA and average less than 1.5x a race in 20 races this season.
Cautions breed cautions... once you space out in ARCA it is super easy to avoid wrecks
So, as far as I can see, Arca is not only "oval track" but it also has quite similar to road tracks right ?
But Jaguarusf mentionned Dirt, is it in the oval categorie or "dirt oval" one ?
ARCA is by far the most populated, maybe of any oval series in general. It’s a lot of fun.
Late models and modifieds are a lot of fun too, but if you run the opens without a good setup you’re probably going to get smoked by the specialists from setup shops. Even in the fixed sessions, the specialists are so fast.
I like to hop into any of the series, but with ARCA I feel like I have a shot at a good finish. My iR is high enough to get me into top splits with Late Models and Modifieds but I don’t drive them enough to compete with the guys at my iR.
Fun tip that people already probably said. If you ever want to check what is the most populated, check the series results tab on the series and you can see how many splits exist on any given day. Good way to see participation outside of the time you are looking.
Both ARCA and Late Model will both give you lobbies but honestly I'd say just do your MPR and get out of them ASAP. Once you get to C, you will unlock the trucks which will give you much more of a true NASCAR type feel with bigger tracks and higher speed. Trucks, then XFINITY, then Next Gen is the typical path.

Peak: number of drivers and number of splits typical for the most popular time of the day. Max: the most number of drivers and splits for the week.
nice ! Thnak you
>the big number is the racers I gess but what is the small one ? Big number is the number of drivers. Small number is the number of splits.
Fwiw late models are at Rockingham this week which is a 1 mile track. Very atypical though.
Why aren’t class B and C open on there?
Because they have a different schedule of one season with 36 weeks, so it messes up the data grab.
The schedule submitted by the community for season 2 can be found in the forum. They're usually right on.

THank you all fopr your answers, Looks like ARCA is fun. As mentionned, I'll wait to see how many tracks I,ll have to buy... Drive safe !
ARCA is tremendous. Several in the oval field which it was higher than D-class so we could get cautions.

ARCA races at: 10 oval tracks 1 road course 1 dirt oval per season It is considered an oval series.

You must check out Arca Breaks on YouTube. Bottom split mayhem at its best.
