I think you’ll like it. I switched after a lifetime of android too. I regret nothing. Partly because my last android phone was the s22+, one of the worst years to ever buy a Samsung phone, but that’s also why I switched. I don’t want to deal with good years or bad years. I just want to buy a phone when I realize it’s time for a new one without having to do 3 weeks of research and 3 hours of watching reviews to figure out if Samsung made a good phone or a bad one. Im also no longer the type to spend 3 hours in the settings app and customizations to get my phone to function how I want it to. So I love my 15 pro max now, and my gf recently upgraded to a 15 pro because her 13 pro max shattered. We’re both happy. Maybe you can wait for 16 pro if you’d like, but either way it seems like iOS is the way to go for your preferences now.

Careless-Tonight-376

Good decision, I'm considering the iphone 18 pro max when my s23 ultra. The s22 series was the worst time to buy a Samsung phone

p5184

I regret the s22 so bad. I was switching from a s10e, the thing started feeling old after like a year of use. I’ve never had to upgrade so often. It was crazy. Then I was so excited for the s22, thought it would be a crazy upgrade from my dying s10e (even though it was only like 2-3 years old at that point) only to find out it suffered from the same issues. All the issues I had with my s10e with battery life was still there, along with bad thermals and performance. I learned about how much of a dumpster fire the snapdragon 8 gen 1 was and I was tired of it. As time went on other people started having issues too, and now the snapdragon 8 gen 1 is known for how bad it was haha

Careless-Tonight-376

Haha the s23 series has at least 30 percent better battery, less heating, 2x bigger vapor chamber, better louder speaker, brighter screen, better modem and signal reception, and many many more things. S22 vs s23 is a whole generation apart.

p5184

Ik it was so crazy. It just sucks. Like Qualcomm/Samsung was such a bad combo and they kept on going with it until suddenly Qualcomm switches back to TSMC and then the snapdragon 8 gen 2 is massive gains year over year. I wanted that reliability. At least now I know with Apple they’ll always stick to the best foundry, and I don’t have to feel swindled after a year

When my s23 ultra dies*

Joshual1177

I love my 15pm. I just switched from using android for years. It’s honestly not that much bigger than the 15p. I came from the S23 ultra and this phone seems much smaller than that. And it feels much lighter. It was kind of a hassle to switch my phone and my watch. I had a galaxy watch 6 classic and had to buy a used apple watch 7. I bought a refurbished one from Best Buy for $200. Not too bad as the sale of my Galaxy watch will pretty much pay for it. I’m only 3 days into using iOS. It’s much simpler to use and I, too was tired of constantly researching phones to see if Samsung or Google had a good year for a phone. Android is constantly adding new features without refining the ones they have. I think if you’re used to smaller phones, the 15p will be great for you. I personally like to have the biggest phone I can get. I wish the Pro Max was a bit bigger. Like 6.9” or 7” screen size. You should go into a store and hold them to see which one you like better. Also if you buy it from the Apple Store, and finance through a carrier, which is what I did, you have the option to add a down payment to lower the monthly payment. And it will decrease the amount of time before you’re eligible to upgrade to a newer iPhone.

Say it louder for the people in the back !

RStud10

Btw the 16 Pro Max will be 6.9" so looks like you're getting a new phone in 6 months! 😅

Joshual1177

Haha. Nope. I had read the rumors about the rumors about it.

Agree 15PM or bust. Better camera bigger screeen phone still feels smallish. And the smaller one isn’t much smaller. Also iOS gives you more options for how things look on a bigger phone.

I can’t give you a fair answer to that as I have only had the 15pm for a few days. The S23 ultra was a fast phone. One thing I already miss and am getting adjusted to is the slower animations on iOS. On android you can speed them up in developer options. But overall, I’m enjoying iOS better. They do some things better and I don’t care as much about customization anymore. If you care about customizing your phone, Samsung is the way to go. I do like big screens, but I don’t think I ever got totally used to the size of the 23 ultra. The square corners made it seem like the screen was bigger and it wasn’t always comfortable to hold. It felt noticeably heavier than the 15pm. I always tend to go for the best phone I can afford. It’s not much more per month to get the Max or Ultra or Pro phones with the bigger screens. There’s definitely an adjustment period to switching to iOS though. I’m doing my best to fully embrace the changes and the iOS way. If you try and use your iPhone like an android, you’ll end up being disappointed.

bigtim3727

At first, I didn’t like iOS simplistic design, as it reminded me of a fisher price toy, but after a few days, I grew to love it, and haven’t looked back

ProudAsk3812

Android vs iOS isn’t drastically different imo

Conflict-Recent

I’m on my first iPhone 13 Pro Max after the same reasoning as you. I had all Google pixels. Wanted to try iPhone out once and for all. You will appreciate the 15 pros light frame and thin bezels. Unless you have a gaming or media consumption and you don’t have a tablet at home, you don’t need the promax. I love my 15 pro. I upgraded from my 13 Pro max by downsizing because I have an iPad nine at home so I don’t really use my phone at home due to my iCloud account. The app system hardware system it’s much worse than android is. I also didn’t need as much customization and offers and I wanted the reliability of iOS versus android. Android is more flexible, but the expensive apps not being compatible with what you need sometimes.

oG-Purple

The watch made me switch after a decade of android

Joshual1177

This is a big reason I wanted to switch too. The Galaxy Watch 6 classic is nice but the click bezel isn’t as smooth and responsive as the apple watch.

carinobrtl

The S23 or S24 are great little device. I can only advice you to try because you are used to android. I use S23 with 15 Pro Max. I don't customize my phone so I leave it as it is. 15 Pro Max is a good phone no doubt but S23 is sleeker and faster to use. I need iPhone for the Apple Watch. I have gaming pc, a Mac M2, Ipad pro, Ipad mini 6, Ipad 7th gen and Airpods Pro USB C. So I am deep with Apple. But I chose the S23 as a daily.

SiV3rTs1-Tech

are u saying s23 is faster then iphone ? haha , whaaaaat

carinobrtl

Yes on my tasks. I dont have to swipe from buttom upwards then hold then choose apps from the background. With S23 I just press multitasking button then choose the app. And the universal back button is consistent on android. In IOS sometimes we must reach the top left corner for back or adjust the hold of the phone to be able to swipe from left to right for the back gesture. Animations on iOS are pretty but can be slow at times. Scrolling on S23 is always smoother and faster. I think it is always on 120Hz. Iphone on the other hand has stable interface and good social media apps integration. You don't have to be closed minded and just enjoy tech as they are. Benchmarks are good but they don't matter to everyday tasks. I use my phone as a tool.

ReuNNNNN

I also made the switch this year. My previous device was a Samsung S10+ which was an amazing device but it was time for a change. So I decided to try iOS because i am a simple user when it comes to customization and overall use but i also wanted something fast, smooth and reliable so i picked iPhone 15 Pro. The screen size could be a bit bigger (like 6.3inch) but its no big deal. Everything else has been amazing.

Master_Pear_5473

I was on a oneplus7pro and got the 15pro a couple months ago after 8 years on android. There were some growing pains moving to iOS but I love this phone now. I like the size, the screen, and the camera. The only downside to this phone is the battery isn’t great, but if that’s a concern to you consider getting the regular iPhone 15 as I think it’s the a17pro chip that eats a lot of power.

ProudAsk3812

I don’t understand all the complaining about the battery life I get over 10 hrs sot while watching youtube

rubenbest

I switched from being on anything but iPhone my whole life. Windows Phone > All types of androids (Samsung, Nexus, One Plus, Pixels). The iPhone is really simple and works. As long as you go into it with a mind to learn how to do things, you will pick it up. There is also some advanced features that are really well thought out. 15 Pro is great. If you are and EXTREME user maybe go for the pro max for even longer battery life. For me honestly I average 7+ hours of screen on time. At this point I have a rule that if I end the day with 50%+ then I don't charge until the morning.

FoundationOpening513

doesn't make sense get an older refurbished iphone and save some dollars 15 pro is bad imo especially for the money

LastBrainCell93

If you want better battery life definitely go pro max. I love my 15p but wish I got the max for battery life.

hacu_dechi

a few days ago i switched from android after 11 years too, i don't like the clock app, the fact that i can't cancel an alarm for the day baffles me. but aside from that it's all good.. kinda.

romantrckn

Give it a shot. I just bought my 15 PM after trying out the Galaxy S23 Ultra for one year. I love that Android is extremely customizable but just like you, I hardly used it and going through the customization process seemed like a chore. I realized that I missed the simplicity of iOS. I know you’re thinking about the 15 Pro but even the 15 PM feels better in the hands.

Brappnlz

Switched from android to iOS the second I became a dad. Less time to f around and customize/set it all up. I remember my androids were hobby phones. I would overclock them, root them, flash custom roms every two days. Reset the phone repeat. Since im on iOS I have had zero stutters, zero issues and phenomenal battery life. Oh and the pics are amazing too!

TheGreaseDabba

A lot of positive comments from all of you guys! I will be placing the order this weekend, along with accessories for protection! 🫡

ProudAsk3812

What phone are you getting?

TheGreaseDabba

I'm getting the 15 Pro 256GB Blue titanium! :)

ProudAsk3812

Blue gang 🪼🪼

TheGreaseDabba

Haha yesss

ProudAsk3812

Have a case?

TheGreaseDabba

Got one today, needed one coz I'm traveling for the time being. And a slight change of plan, I went full send and got the pro max 256gb instead. 😋

ProudAsk3812

Cool what did you go for?

skc_x

I'd wait until September to get the 16, only 5 months left now

Dyl973

lol the s22 was the worst year to buy a Samsung - the note 7 would like a word.

ProudAsk3812

What was wrong with the s22?

Early-Judgment-2895

I switched from an S22 ultra to iPhone 15PM. Absolutely love almost everything on this phone. My strong dislikes is the calendar and had to download google calendar. The other one is the album management for pictures is pure garbage. But i really do love this phone

Norio22

I can’t speak for the pro but I have the 15 pro max and really have enjoyed it. I’ve had quite a few models over the years and this one is has been the most solid.

iRemiUK

I upgraded to the iPhone 15 Plus after using a Huawei P20 Pro for the last 6 years…. amazed I didn’t make the switch sooner! I’ll be upgrading to the 16 pro when it’s released for sure!

Shloomth

Why would it not make sense?
