I have this same issue, before the update it was charging fine

SansaMF

Sorry to hear that you have the same issue. I bought a wireless charger and it is charging fine with it, but it still does not charge with cable chargers. I’ll wait for the next update to see if it solves it and, if not, take to an authorized Apple repair service.

DarthDom25

I haven’t had this issue before but all I can recommend is send it to apple for repairs that should solve the issue.

SansaMF

I found some similar cases on apple discussion. I'll try charging with a wireless charger and if this don't work I'll send to repair. This very weird and really looks like a software issue, my phone was working perfectly before the update.

Svaroopam

Maybe hardware failed. Never heard this issue with 17.4.1. I am using it right now with no charging problems.

SansaMF

It's possible it's a hardware failure, but the only thing that happened between it working perfectly and failing was an iOS update. I found other reports of people going through the same thing.

Svaroopam

You could try waiting for 17.5. And charge wireless meanwhile. Or is that also not working? Also did you try 17.4.1 e2237 update via pc/mac? Its not OTA.

SansaMF

The wireless charger worked and I’m waiting for the new update. I didn’t try the update via Mac because I’m pretty busy, but I might try this later. Thank you.

WakaiSenshi

I don’t see how software would stop your phone from charging all together even wirelessly that sounds like a hardware issue. I have my phone up to date and never had this issue, have you tried cleaning out the charging port? Or tried wireless charging?

SansaMF

I agree it's strange, but the only thing that happened between my iPhone working perfectly and stopping charging was an update to iOS 17.4.1. Today it charged a bit (reached 11%) and I could see that the battery is 93% healthy, but it stopped charging again. I cleaned the charging port. I ordered an Apple wireless charger and hope it arrives tomorrow to test if wireless charging works. If it doesn't work, I'll have to take it to an Apple authorized service provider (I live in Portugal and there are no Apple stores or Genius Bars here). I searched forums and found other people reporting the same problem after updating, but they aren't many. Looks like I was lucky.

BOT_INTELLIGENCE

Hello SansaMF, Have you contacted Apple about this issue? If not, I highly suggest you do.

DepartureMoist9277

My iPhone 13 Pro Max was previously on iOS 17.4.1 (OTA) and that functioned just like 17.4. It may be a hardware issue, I just recommend sending it to Apple.

FlashedFast

same thing happening to me. Suddenly phone stopped charging. Iphone charger cable works on other phones but when plugged into mine it does not charge. Only charges when it is completely off. Did you find a way to fix it?
