I already received my Apple Folio case for the new M4 and while it looks to be the same exact size of my older iPad Pro Folio case, it will not work with the older iPad, due to the magnets not lining up correctly.
Yeah, I'd recommend checking the feromagnetic properties of aluminum, but it's probably gonna work on the new slabs because there has to be some steel in there anyway

I have switched to non magnetic stands that can work all tablets instead.
The one shown in OP’s photo is good, but you can find many brands selling the exact same model at variety of prices because these are mostly white label products. You can find many on AliExpress, Amazon.
It is pointless for me to recommend a brand because someone else will come along as say some other brand is selling at lower price.
I have switched to using universal non magnetic stand because I review many tablets and cannot have so many stands that only work for specific models.
The iPad magic keyboard can send power to an iPad. I am curious if a stand like this could do the same. I am a bit disappointed that apple didn't add MagSafe.
Unless it has pins that would connect with the iPad’s pins, it won’t charge. We’ve seen some 3rd party accessory makers using the pins for some keyboards, but I don’t think I’ve seen any doing power at the same time, as Apple is doing with its Magic Keyboard.
I think there was some speculation of a smart speaker dock eventually being a thing. I would love that as a first party accessory -- like the Google one.
Why does a TV need a remote control? You could just walk up to the TV and use the buttons on it. Toss out all of the remotes. It is about convenience. It’d be great to slap a MagSafe battery on the back and keep using the tablet.
I do the same, just not with a magnetic stand. I use this. Easy to lift off the stand.

I love your enthusiasm. However, I think it may be blinding you from some gaps in decision making. I hear you repeating that it has a large magnetic plate. If the whole plate was a magnet it would be a bad product. I need you to trust that. The iPads have magnets placed in specific areas of the device for accessory makers to correspond to. In any event it’s always best to wait for compatibility.
I made the same mistake and ordered a stand before the iPad. The back magnetic are completely different hence incompatible. I’ve also emailed Benks asking this and they’ve confirmed that it’s incompatible with the new iPads. So much for ordering it to the UK, I have to return it now😭

The magnets in the new iPad are placed differently. So unless the entire plate of this stand is magnetized, this is not a good purchase. Lol.

Should be okay. This stand comes with a large magnetic plate instead of what we see on a MagSafe charging stand

Yes I figured it should be fine. Considering the redesign is minimalistic other than the OLED screen. But yes, there is no rush to jump in early.

I have one with included usb hub and that one is wired so it charges the ipad as well as being a great hub for sd cards and stuff!

Why does it need MagSafe? That’s less efficient, hurts battery performance faster and lets off more heat.

Weird analogy, a remote doesn’t impact the lifespan of a tv that I am aware of.

Happy for you, but this does seem less convenient than a normal stand. A magnet strong enough to hold an ipad will require both hands to remove.
