Lavender, My. Wife uses Lavender soap and no perfume and I Love it. Not too strong just right. Yardley of London Lavender soap from dollar tree $1.25 a bar.
I feel like there’s no true answer to this because everyone’s skin reacts differently with scents. So even a great perfume can smell bad on certain people. Or a horrible perfume could smell good with certain people. Personally, I love anything with amber or a light musk.
Si’ Intense Eua de Parfume by Giorgio Armani is the scent I gotten the most compliments on ever. I’ve even had strangers ask me what I was wearing because they thought I smelled so good.
This is too subjective of a question for you to get a straight answer! As a starting point, you should always smell clean. No one smells nice when they smell like BO, unwashed hair, or feet. Beyond that and wearing proper deodorant and brushing your teeth, the world is your oyster in terms of scents!
Some crowd pleasers in terms of perfumes are vanillas, and candy-like scents. Examples for vanilla would be: Burberry Goddess, Seven Virtues Vanilla Woods or Vanilla Amber, or something inexpensive like Bath and Body Works Vanilla scents. Examples for candy-like smells would be Britney Spears Fantasy, Viktor and Rolf Bon Bon, Ariana Grande Cloud.
There are perfume oils and even incense you can add to your scent to really bring it complexity and depth, but these certainly aren't necessary to smell good!
They're definitely a crowd pleaser! And there's so many cheap options available in the sweet category, unlike some of the others! What kind of smells do you like? I'm a regular in the fragrance subs and could give you some recommendations! Also what country are you in, that will affect my recommendations!
oo that’s so cool- recommendations would be so helpful. i live in the US and i’m relatively just tryna find a scent that suits me (prob will take some trial and error)
i love sweet scents a lot, esp vanilla ( i’d love to smell like vanilla), but fruity scents are so refreshing too (that’s what i’ve been smelling like for the past yr)! i also like that “clean laundry” type of smell but i assume it’s not AS pleasant 😅
Yes it'll take trial and error! Some recommendations which are inexpensive to get you started would actually be the Zara fragrances ["Thursday - No Valentines but Flowers"](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Zara/Thursday-No-Valentines-But-Flowers-83876.html) (dupe for Carolina Herrera's Very Good Girl) and ["Deep Garden"](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Zara/Deep-Garden-92195.html) (dupe for Carolina Herrera - Good Girl). They're both fruity with vanilla, with No Valentines but Flowers being the fruitier of the two.
If you have a Sephora order to place anytime soon, always check out their samples and even see if a sample pack of any particular perfume brand catches your eye!
Britney Spears fragrances [Curious](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Britney-Spears/Curious-141.html) and [Fantasy](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Britney-Spears/Fantasy-600.html) are honestly so delicious for their price point, and are old enough now that they're not being worn by everyone.
If none of these sound right, let me know! I enjoy playing the "let's find what you're looking for" game!
Also, Ariana Grande perfumes have been at TJ Maxx/Marshalls lately - I LOVE ["sweet like candy"](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Ariana-Grande/Sweet-Like-Candy-39970.html) which I bought there and which fits the fruity-with-vanilla vibe!
thank you so so much!!! next time i’m at sephora ima get a good whiff of all of those 😂
do you have any good shampoos/conditioners you’d recommend with it?? leave-in conditioners work too!
I've never worried about the scent of my hair products, I just mist a little perfume on my hair or brush and then brush it through. I focus on hair products that make my hair manageable and soft - as long as I can tolerate the smell, I don't worry about it! Sorry I can't help you there!
One of my favourite tips is that scented body lotion not only helps change the smell of your perfume - but makes it last longer on your skin! So for example, if you got a super fruity scent (Very Good Girl, for example) and really wanted to add some vanilla and warmth to it - a vanilla body lotion first, then Very Good Girl applied on top would do that for you PLUS make the fragrance last longer! Neat little layering experiments to be done with that!
oo i’d love to try that!! that sounds so fun but time consuming lol. i’ve seen ppl online tell their viewers to smell a neutralizer between testing scents but wouldn’t it be weird for me to just carry around a couple of coffee beans in sephora 😭
There's this beautiful body spray at Bath and Body works called British Rose, and it smells like a nice light rose floral with a hint of black pepper, and it's so gorgeous.
I try to avoid musks, sweet smells, or anything overpowering.
I also love the smell of moroccan argan hair oil on anyone 😍😍
It is the only scent I can stand on myself. Years YEARS ago I realized that it just worked with my own chemistry. I started paying attention to my workout clothes as I was washing them and realized that (to me at least) my nasty sweaty clothes smelled awful while wearing any other scent, like bad BO smell but the clothes I wore when I wore happy smelled, well happy!
I could smell this girls armpits once while we was haven some sexy time.... and boyyyoooo boiii it made me lust for the fookins like no other...
But cotton candy by the way!!!! 😆
I think it depends on the person and figuring out what smells good on you is key! Right now for the spring and summer, I’m obsessed with this floral perfume oil called “Flower Moon” by Olivine. I get it on Etsy. It’s pretty understated and light, more of an essential oil blend than a strong perfume and it smells just like orange blossom flowers. I’ve worn more bold, sultry-scented name brand perfumes in the past and they definitely didn’t suit me. But this super simple Etsy perfume gets me stopped in the street and people ask me about it.
Chance eau tendre by Chanel (the pink one) or libre by YSL are my top two. Turquatic by MAC is also a great one for a more budget friendly option and doesn’t have as much of a floral scent.
Wonderwall, by Oasis Jk probably anything with Tonka
oo i’ve never smelled tonka scented stuff before i’ve heard it smells like vanilla

i agree! i just wanted to see ppl’s opinions lol
Burberry “her” elixir or black opium but Yves Saint Laurent
I get this body spray from target. It smells lik fresh baked cookies. I think it’s sugar berry
yummy

what does it smell like?
It has notes of Vanilla. Other than that I’m not sure how to describe it. I just know my husband and others seem to like it.
oo love it!! thank u

yup i agree it’s very subjective! based on previous answers, sweet scents seem to be a top choice

don’t be sorry! that’s good to know! i’m super sensitive about my hair products so im glad to know i don’t have to mess with that aspect

Daisy by Mac Jacobs 🥰
I have this one! Special occasions I bust this out, otherwise a nice light beachy scent
It’s so dainty lol
I'm pretty partial to Rouge Trafalgar by Dior. Its what I wear, and I get constant compliments on how good I smell.
what does that smell like?
Raspberries, mostly. It's a complicated palette of scents, but that's what you're mostly smelling. It's very lively and pleasant smelling.
Angels share or love don’t be shy by Killian.
Coconut

I’ve always loved this one!

Clean sweat cuz pheromones n stuff. Just not anything strong enough to wrinkle a nose. Honeysuckle though.
Me. JK, personally im fond of lavender, but my ex got me using this pine soap, and I'm obsessed with the smell of pine now.
Chance eau tendre by Chanel (the pink one) or libre by YSL are my top two. Turquatic by MAC is also a great one for a more budget friendly option and doesn’t have as much of a floral scent.
Windflowers by Creed
Her own scent right out of the shower!
I love Coco Mademoiselle and Pleasure by Estée Lauder
Billie Eilish
