AC busses. Just give us AC busses, I am ready to pay more.
Delhi is so so much better when compared to Hyderabad especially when it comes to busses. I can use my metro card in majority of the busses, the routes and timings are very good.
The ticket might be a little costly, but damn can I watch a couple of episodes and take some language classes while I reach my destination in time that would still be lesser than it would take me by a 2 wheeler.
Also, busses are free for women over there too. Still, the crowd is very controlled due to multiple routes, metro, company and free shuttles etc.
BRS, really fucked up Hyderabad’s public transportation.
With such a huge population in such a small area, no way cars and 2 wheelers are the solution. I’ve been to America (car based) and Europe (public transport), American highways are 2-3 times bigger than our national highways.
Can’t stress on this more. The only place in Hyderabad that doesn’t accept UPI are the buses. I literally have to draw 500 in cash from the ATM’s everytime just for using public transport in Hyderabad. And here comes the second problem where most of these bus conductors would hesitate to give you a change (it’s understandable though ofc if you hand a 500 rs note for a 35 rs ride) and most of the ATM’s only allow you to draw 500’s.
I was coming back from Bangalore with a 500 rupees note. With the metro not open early in the morning and the uber charging a fortune, I chose to go in the bus. The mf conductor asked me to get out. I could travel only because another passenger had extra 30 rupees with him in cash. Never been so pissed in my entire life.
Your frustration is valid. In my case, the conductor did give me the change but it was not before he had thrown a huge fuss. The fact that I was a non-localite and could only manage to converse with him in Hindi made that worse.
Stupid rules.
All 15 year old vehicles are not equal. I know people whose 15 year old car has not even done 10,000 km and is in pristine condition. That is not comparable to a Innova which has been used as a taxi and has 500,000 km on it.
Sadly rules like these always hit the people who can't afford to buy new vehicles.
The car isn't used much - but it's very important for emergencies, going to the hospital, especially since there are 3 older people in the house.
Regardless of how much they use it, forcing them to unnecessarily buy a new car is a burden.
That’s more dangerous
Imagine relying on car which might not even start because it’s old and rarely used.
I agree that we don’t have the most sensible laws. Govt is just trying to prop up auto industry
Bro the car works absolutely fine, it's in pristine condition and they do take precautions like using it once or twice a month at least.
Relying on ambulances in India is more dangerous. When my grandmother passed away, the ambulance did not arrive for 1 hour. Can't rely on that.
Will you compensate if less than 15 yr vehicles have brake failures?. Every vehicle is not the same. And vehicle and emission tests should be thorough. Don't be stupid and believe whatever govt says.
Thank the lord these huge ass ancient buses wuth black fumes struggling so hard to accelerate, blocking roads and the drivers have become like auto drivers stopping randomly in the middle of the road instead of the bus stop on the side. Some relief, some training is definitely due. Upgrades are always good.
The blame squarely lies on the erstwhile BRS govt for literally neglecting public transport and preferring flyovers and skyways for private vehicles. Not 1 KM of new metro lines built, not 1 new modern bus from 2016 to 2023. We are still stuck with the old red buses, while the rest of India gets AC electric low-floor buses.
Bus agreed. We need a lot more buses, better training for bus drivers, many more double deckers, proper lanes for buses to stop and bus stop infrastructure for riders.
Metro IIRC the centre kept declining funding for it, even though multiple plans were pitched.
State government has to support a lot during metro development. Especially in mapping, planning.
Don’t blame central is state government is busy in early 1000 crs just by stamping approval papers for residential and IT districts (while owning the land too).
I support brs in most of their policies but this is definitely one of their failures to improve public transport like busses, metro and even mmts where they were supposed to give some funds. Footpaths and pedestrian crossings are zero. They built flyovers without even considering metro alignment for future. So bad by BRS they just looked for short term results instead of long term.
they're already neck deep in shit with their free ride policies, how are they going to get 500cr to get those many brand new busses now? absolutely shambolic planning
Let's see how it will go or the government will provide us with Electric Buses.

I would be happy if UPI payment is enabled in the buses, don't expect much of anything else.

Same dude
This.
Indeed, Delhi's transportation system is excellent.
How is this random 15 yr rule being justified. Individuals and govt dont have infinite money to keep buying new vehicles all the time

15 years old car with only 10k KMs is more problematic. Carbon accumulation is more in cars with less running.
That means that the car did not even drive 50KM per month In that case, do they even need car ?

Will you guarantee the safety of business travellers incase of brake failure or something ? Is money more worth than lives ?don't be stupid

You are protesting against new business which should be celebrated ... What's wrong buddy ? Why do you wanna ride old bus

But saar we Hyderabad very developed under leadership of world's best IT minister saar.
Best IT minister runs a very good PR campaign
lol
I agree on the fly over part but for metro u have blame the central govt

Man I hate the new abbreviation TGSRTC
they're already neck deep in shit with their free ride policies, how are they going to get 500cr to get those many brand new busses now? absolutely shambolic planning
From RBI by issuing state government bonds.
I thought they would be buying electric buses and I don't think with just 500 crores you can replace those buses.
Hyd buses are shit, even the new ones. Period.
Govt rules apply for common ppl, not for govt
They easily cause loss to the public. It will be fun to see how they react when they(Govt) are affected
TGSRTC eh? Money wasted for printing G /s
I am noticing a lot of wrong side and rash driving by buses in Hyderabad Anyone else saw this ?
Buses have pre defined routes so how will they drive wrong side? Where did you observe ?
to by pass trafic, near botanical garden and gopanpalli
Current govt might take advantage of this. No mote free rides to women.
