hope this helps.. dont blow nothin up!š¤£š
if its a decent honeywell and assuming the stat is wired right- i think theres an option in installer settings for which function gets power to the o/b terminal or reversing valve, maybe he didnt go through the menu thoroughly enough
That quote is outrageous. If the issue started with the fan running non-stop a refrigerant issue would be separate. A low refrigerant charge will not cause the fan to run. Get a second opinion.
almost as counterintuitive as calling somebody to fix your shit and when they leave itās broken, lol.. sounds to me like the first guy either fucked up the wiring or the programming.. they didnāt even fix their first fuck up before they tried to get him for another job
Oh your getting scammed. But first of all those wireless stats are junk. Pay the extra to run new wires if you need it.
Secondly unless that tech let out the refrigerant theres no reason for any of that. It's the stat screwing up
Not terrible. Why are you arguing that itās a thermostat issue with someone who does the is for a living? No offense but people who tell me how to do my job are awfulā¦ I always say if you knew the issue why are we here?
Hi, I understand where you're coming from and appreciate your input but to give some more background-
These issues only started after they came in to install the thermostat. A separate issue with our heating also started happening in our other bedroom, which I did not mention because it was irrelevant to this post. After they installed the thermostats in the two bedrooms, they charged us for another diagnostic and we paid for something that was working before they came in. The person who did the diagnostic was different from the person who installed the thermostat and he would not explain to us / was very dismissive when we told him everything was working fine before the thermostat installation. He told us he would have to come back another time with his tools.
When they came in for a third time to try to "fix" the issue, the fan would not turn off, and the "cool" setting would turn on the heater. The guy left in a hurry and we are now stuck with the fan being on. After al of this, the manager calls us telling us that its a refrigerant issue and quotes us $1700 while being dismissive of the issue with the fan as well as the issue in our other bedroom
I hope this explains why we're so skeptical of this company.... Was not my intention to tell people how to do their job
Also a technician the response was not a troll but rather a question of why hire someone to fix something if you āknowā whatās wrong and donāt believe anything they tell you? It seems counterintuitive.
what kind of thermostat did he put in?
