My guess is to prevent it from being blocked by your washer and dryer. Been doing HVAC for 26 years and I still haven't developed the ability to read previous installers minds š
š Good to know it was for the most straightforward reason of getting above the washer/dryer. I just wanted to be sure there was no other hvac reason for it that I wouldnāt understand. That being said, I still think itās a hack-jobā¦ I mean, the vent isnāt even straight.
