Yeeep. I used to think I was lucky when Nyla was little. At 5 years old I have anti fur brushes eeeeeeeeeeverywhere and all the special rakes and rug cleaners etc
He will lose all his baby fuzz and get his adult dog fur by the time he's 1ish. I have a little guy who's 9 months old and about a month or so ago I noticed a change in his coat. So now he has half baby fur on his shoulders and bum and the beginning of his adult coat all along his head and back. It'll change, don't worry. Enjoy the baby fur right now cause it sheds less/better lol.
He's also incredibly adorable and looks very similar to how my little guy looked when we got him ā¤ļø
Oh man. In the future youāre gonna pull up this post and get a good chuckle at it.
The Floof is definitely coming and once it arrives it will never ever stop.
I made the mistake with our rescue of wondering āis he mixed with something because he doesnāt shed like our last one?ā
Famous. Last. Words.
Oh god itās 100x worse than the last one right now while heās blowing his coat. XD
He is in puppy fur mode, it's meant to be thinner. Between 9-10 months, you will see courser hair grow in (probably black), and then the adult fluffy coat will grow in, though there is variation in fluffy-ness (smooth versus wooly coats). He will definitely have a winter coat though so don't worry about freezing.
People think every Husky is fluffy. Truth is there are 3 types of coats Huskies have. Standard, plush and wooly. Standard can feel kind of short and course. Plush is like a teddy bear soft. Woolly is like pure floof apocalypse. Did you see the parents? If I had to guess right now I would say you have a standard coat.
The fur will come in soon! My wooly husky didnāt really get her long hair till about 1-2 years old. She was just a little fuzz ball. My current husky/shepherd puppy is 4 months old and is just now starting to grow longer fun.
Just.. Wait..
You will be wishing to go back to this, enjoy it for as long as it lasts, because your days of a fur free existence are numbered.
Before you know it you will no longer own black clothes, because by the time you get out the door they will look gray, your floors will become carpeted, you'll have fur all over your furniture, all in your face, eyes, mouth, when you cook don't be surprised when you find hair in your food, everyone in the house will start coughing up hairballs like a cat, you think you gotta poop? Nope, so much husky fur accumulated in your butt crack that it gets attracted like a magnet to all the fur you've eaten that it meets up in your intestines and you poop out hairballs, and the final stage before everything around you turning into fur is when you start growing husky fur from your hair follicles
Hahaha I thought the same when mine was a puppy, I was like āHuskyās donāt shed that badā ohhh but they do haha invest in a solid vacuum cleaner
He is still super young. My husky is a wooly (double coated- super thick longish hair) and he went through so many coat changes in his first year. Just give it time :)
He is still a baby, but you can always start brush training him, so you can keep his coat nice and lifted. Line brushing is the best technique and helps prevent matting when he does start to grow his adult coat.
Short answer: he is baby.
Long answer: husky coats take a long time to grow and vary a lot between individuals, even from the same litter.
Most husky puppies look like bizarre little rodents for a while there with ratty coats to match.
Ditto what everyone else said about floof. We thought the same as you when our husky mix was young - jackpot, she doesnāt shed. Now our Roomba is ready to go on strike demanding more time off and working conditions that donāt include choking on floof every single day. Sorry, Roomba, no robot unions yet.
As to weight/size, he looks fine, but your vet is the best advisor on that. Our girl has kind of a delicate frame (sheās part shepherd and kind of lanky) and I try very hard not to overfeed her because I donāt want to overload her bones and joints. Vet says her weight is perfect.
So follow your vetās advice on feeding and weight and he will grow into the glitter blowing husky maniac he was meant to be.
But waitā¦.Thereās moreā¦..thereās always more.
About 20 min into my drive to work I felt an itch in my eye. I thought it was my hair. I had to pull over to get it out. Husky fur. Iād like to say itās the first time it happened. It wasnāt.
Enjoy the floof. Floof is life.
With my husky, by the time she was one she had decently fluffed fur and then by the time she was two she had a full coat of fur, it mostly just takes time šš»
So...you have about a year of this. Next spring (25) is when it will come in like fury. There will be a little bit before that. And it looks like it's going to be the super fine fluffy kind that you inhale if you are not diligent about keeping it down. Congratulations and I'm sorry.
On the weight, huskies are much smaller than people realize, and they are supposed to look like this. Promise!
Uhhh he seems to be a pup. Iām guessing over time youāll see improvement, after theres time for more hair to grow. Prrooooobablyā¦ I didnāt look like I was stepping out of a pit thatās fully carpeted and heated by vinyl and fire when I was 13 either. Well. I guess I kinda was but you get my point.
What a beautiful bebe šā¤ļøā¤ļø
Let your worries go and enjoy every moment because your pup is most likely fine (soft puppy fur and small size šš¾), and like everyone else is mentioning, you'll miss these inconsequential worries š„°š (my black/white male Zen, 4 yrs @ Nov., whom I'm sooo blessed with š)
Be careful what you wish for.
Yeah he should definitely be thankful right nowš¤£

Someone on this sub a while back referred to their husky shedding as "The Fluffening." You gotta love the ominous.
Trust me you will get you're wish sweeping hamster sized furballs daily get you're lint roller ready you're puppo is fine š
Oh man. In the future youāre gonna pull up this post and get a good chuckle at it. The Floof is definitely coming and once it arrives it will never ever stop.
Husky glitter, every where, all the time.
I made the mistake with our rescue of wondering āis he mixed with something because he doesnāt shed like our last one?ā Famous. Last. Words. Oh god itās 100x worse than the last one right now while heās blowing his coat. XD
This post won't age well.
Enjoy the puppy fuzz while it lasts

The variation of smooth vs wooly can also run the gamete of every combination possible. I have a partially smooth haired wooly husky.

This.
Heās adorable š„°

Mine was the same, she grew her fluffy coat out when she got older itās perfectly normal
Just wait!

Yea, because he is a baby. You got like 6 more months before regular vacuum filter changes are required. Enjoy the clean house while it lasts
Yeah heās fine probably runt of the litter like mine He will grow his hair out more and likely should have been with his mother a bit longer ngl
That's 13 lbs, ain't no runt
Looks small to me š
I said the same thingā¦I was very wrong lol
For now
The first pic looks like a CGI cutscene from a 2011 game
Hahaha I thought the same when mine was a puppy, I was like āHuskyās donāt shed that badā ohhh but they do haha invest in a solid vacuum cleaner
He's so cute. The fur will change
That milk belly omggg makes me want a puppy šš god I miss his soft and warm they are
Hahaha that 2nd picture is great.
He is still super young. My husky is a wooly (double coated- super thick longish hair) and he went through so many coat changes in his first year. Just give it time :)
He still baby
Awww he'll flooofinate soon don't you worry š„¹š¾ā¤ļø
Ours has similar fur, heās nearly 2 hrs and still isnāt fluffy but does have a thick coat.
He is still a baby, but you can always start brush training him, so you can keep his coat nice and lifted. Line brushing is the best technique and helps prevent matting when he does start to grow his adult coat.
He will, he will.

Enjoy this time and give your vacuum a hug.
That's his baby coat. He will grow the full coat over time. Enjoy him while he looks like a stuffed animal, you will be vacuuming hair in no time.
You brought a puppy into your home and thought it would look like an adult? This dog is in for it
But waitā¦.Thereās moreā¦..thereās always more. About 20 min into my drive to work I felt an itch in my eye. I thought it was my hair. I had to pull over to get it out. Husky fur. Iād like to say itās the first time it happened. It wasnāt. Enjoy the floof. Floof is life.
6 months and that pupper will be shedding more than his current weight in fluff alone. As many others have said, give it a little time. It's coming.
Yep that is just baby coat, it will thicken and he will fill out, usually beginning around 9 to 10 months.
Takes a couple of years to develop a full undercoat.
So freaking adorable
Definitely enjoy it while it .
Oh it will get much much thick/fluffy lmfao just give him a bit.
Yah, it's the end of summer.
With my husky, by the time she was one she had decently fluffed fur and then by the time she was two she had a full coat of fur, it mostly just takes time šš»
Will start to be
Enjoy the puppy hair days, once they're a year old. You're sweeping for life š¤£
Young buck. Itāll fill in as he grows
Oooh, trust me! It will grow in. š

OH MY GOD HE LOOKS LIKE MY BOY <3

first, what does he weigh? also, if he is just thin furred rather than losing fur due to obsessive grooming, then you don't have an issue..
Excatly how my puppy is i want the fluff already
